I love your show - my dogs benefit from your wisdom. People always comment on how calm and well mannered my dogs are and lament about their own. A 4 mile run through the hills and woods of the country every morning keeps my dogs tired and happy. A tired dog is a good dog!
I'm glad you're publishing a book.
I think your program is great. I have raised and bred Jack Russell Terriers for 7 years, makeing me one of those insane "Jack Rotten" lovers. Watching and raising these incredibly intellegent dogs has taught me so much about myself. I have become aware of how my gestures, moods and inattention affect the pack. My dogs are truly a pack. They are not all allowed to co-habitate however. The three females get along fairly well. No bloody events there. But, BUT....the four males (2 nuetered), are a whole other ball game. I can't tell you how terrifying a Jack Russell dog fight is. It is usually meant to be to the death. Even if exhaustion takes over, it is not over until one is not breathing. This has happened to me twice, both times I was able to save or revive the loser. One time, a fight broke out between two females, I was alone outside the house. I grabbed each one by the back of their necks, commanding them to let go. They were locked on like vice grips. The only recourse I had was to run in the house flip on the kitchen faucet with my elbow, turn the water on and stick their heads directly under the running water. Even with that it took what seemed like an eternity for them to let go. Then of course they were still snarling and struggling to get at one another. I could tell you so much more. Considering being who and what they are bred to be, my dogs are well behaved. These fights are always tramatic, no matter how care full we are at home. Some how they seem to get a fight going every 4-8 months. I realize the females heats, and puppies are a catalyst. So Ceaser......Here's the gauntlet......I would like you to teach me how to react, and not react to this craziness. Teach me how to seperate them. I know how when there are two people available...but when your alone......!!!!!! It's scary stuff. Truthfully... I don't think it is possible to keep them from fighting. PLEASE HELP Jerrie Manning
I've read through so many post and have yet to read about anyone having the same problem as me. I have a 5 year old female Rottie who is very lovable until certain commercials come on TV or any show that has animals in it. She barks, growls and lunges at the TV. It has gotten to the point where we have to record certain shows and watch them when she is locked out of the room or keep the TV off or at least be on our guard with the remote to block out commercials that have animals in them. I watch the Dog Whisperer religously and record every episode so I can go back and watch them when I want. Hubby and I have practiced a lot of the tips and techniques and they have made our house a very happy home with both our dogs. But this one problem with the TV persists and we are at wits end on how to correct it. I'll add that she is great in every other way, goes everywhere with us and is friendly to all. Keep up the great shows Ceasar!
My husband & our children have always had pets, & our kids always had respect for animals. Now our kids are grown & have pets of their our & my husband & i have 8 dogs of our own. My problem is when we visit or plan family vacations or just get together we are having problems with all our dogs getting along(working & toy breeds). I'm a retirered groomer and have tried to instill in myself all the good advice i've always had for others. Unfortunately our 22 dogs between myself & husband, daughter & son in law, & son & his significant other, cuase nothing but confict & hard & hurt feelings when were together. need help. thanks for all your many helpful programs. sandy & all the kids
Maybe cesar should stop by animal precinct to see if they need his help while hes there. bye Danessa :)
You lucky New Yorkers! I wish he would come to San Antonio. Any chance?
hi cesar i live in fall river i was wondering how much money it is for you to come to my house one day and train my dogs.
Sincerely,

I have a 4 year old boxer we got from the shelter and a 3 year old basset hound we got from a shop. They get along great with each other buthorribly with other dogs and they have speration anxiety. we cannot leave them alone and out. we have to kennel them or they tear up the houes. we cannot even leave them in a room without supervision for even a minute without them potting all over. does anyone else have this proble or have any ideas on how to fix it? we are on the verge of breaking here.
Patty, There will be a segment this season about your topic, stay tuned!
i have an adorable 18-month-old beagle who fails in only one respect: he simply does not come when he's called. since he tends to follow his nose, I'm concerned that he'll run off on any scent and disappear...so I always keep him on a leash. do i ever have any hope of teaching him to respond, or, at least, to stick close by? seeking advice and counsel. SC
We have 2 male & 1 female Lhasa Apsos. We have also adopted a retriever/samoyed ; a female. The female lhasa is very domineering and aggressive toward all of the others and even though I take the "leader of the pack" role, she remains aggressive toward the others. How can I break her of her domineering attitude? She even growls and snaps at anyone or dog that tries to get near me when I am asleep, including my husband. I know she is being protective, but I can't have that kind of attitude. My husband is actually afraid of her when she does that and wants to reprimand her in a way of which I will not approve; hitting her. My mother even suggested that she be destroyed since she feels she is dangerous. Any suggestions?
VERY CONCERNED
I adopted a 7/8month old lab-akita mix two months ago who is gorgeous and wonderful. He goes to the dog run everyday to socialize, play and spend lots of time running. He also frequently comes to work with me. I wanted to meet Cesar at the Petco in Union Square to ask him two questions. The event was fun but so many great dogs and people showed up that we did not have time for questions so I would truly apreciate any feedback on the following. My dog is still often afraid of things. He is getting better, no longer freaking out when we are on the street and a truck passes by. But he still shows fear-based reactions, like cowering and hiding from new people in our home. How can I release him from his previously learned negative behavoir, especially when I have absolutely no history on my dog? Also, I have been told never to really trust a dog with a rabbit. I have a rabbit and they have become good friends. This is part of the problem because the 65 lb dog hides under the coach with the 3 ld rabbit. Would it be a mistake to trust the dog would never hurt the rabbit, even if unattended?
I have the same problem that Jerri Manning has with 2 female dogs. I can't trust them to be together because, right out of the blue they get into a tramatic fight. One is a Border Collie (7 Yrs old) and the other is a Mixed Breed about (5 Yrs Old). They were fine for about a year and now all of a sudden they fight. Both are spade. It appears that the Border Collie starts the fight. They are fine with other visiting dogs that come with family. Please help.
I have a diferent problem than some...My Adult Daughter who lives with me while attending college brought in a pug puppy...I have 2 dogs of my own...all are male.
My blue heeler loves the puppy, and its very cute how they play, but my wire haired terrier growls and nips at the puppy...he will not even give the puppy a chance...
I think he jealous for some reason...the heeler is the alpha dog, which is why I am stumped...
I do however always supervise the dogs all the time...
I just do not know how to get the terrier to try to get along with the puppy...I have tried to correct him when he growls, and redirect him.Its not working...
Any suggestions?
SORRY TO HAVE MISSED CESAR IN MANHATTAN THIS PAST WEEKEND. I HAVE A CONCERN WITH MY 2 YR.OLD MALE BULL TERRIER.HES A REAL SWEET DOG WITH PEOPLE & "SOME DOGS" BUT HES STRONG WILLED. HE PLAYS WITH MY NEIGHBORS DOG BUT ONLY IF HES ON A LEASH& SHE DOMINATES. I ONLY WISH THAT I COULD ALLOW HIM TO PLAY FREELY AS IN A PACK, AT A RUNNER FOR DOGS BUT I CAN'T TAKE THE CHANCE. HES ALSO NEVER BEEN NEUTERED WHICH COULD BE PART OF HIS DOMINATING CHARACTERS.THE ONE DOG HE BARKS AT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS A PUP,6 MTH.OLD LAB FEMALE WHO ALSO HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET. ANY SUGGESTIONS??
WILL CESAR BE COMING BACK TO NY ANY OTHER TIME??I WOULD LOVE TO MEET HIM. THAND YOU FOR LISTENING.RITA
How fortunate New Yorkers are to have Cesar for a visit. We would love to have him in Florida and need his expertise. Perhaps Cesar should think about creating his own school to train others to be dog psychologists.
It's interesting that The Dog Whisperer is such a popular phenomenon. As a school teacher, I know so many of my colleagues who watch his program religiously and quote his techniques. It seems Cesar has appeared on the American scene at a much needed time, when dogs are becoming the children of so many people and yet when so few of us really understand their canine thinking. He is a Godsend and fascinating to watch.
Now to the problem. I haven't seen much about puppies on Cesar's shows, mostly about rescued dogs. We recently bought a Boston Terrier at my house. At nine weeks I don't expect perfection, but biting is a a real problem. While I realize Ollie is still teething and that the baby teeth are at the core of our troubles, I don't want this habit to carry on after the baby teeth are gone. I use as many of Cesar's techniques as I can that I have picked up from his programs, but Ollie seems impervious to any methods I have used to stem the biting problem. In fact, my disciplining only seems to challenge him in a very brazen way. He is a smart little dog and catches on easily. From his first day with us he would tell us when he needed to go potty, though he still has a way to go in that area. So I know he can catch on with training. My 81-year-old mother is definitely not a pack leader to him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
When are you coming to Chicago? Love your show and would love to see you in person. I have a soft coated wheaton terrier. He's three years old. Goes crazy when the doorbell rings and still likes to jump on people to greet them. He doesn't do it with me, but just about everyone else. Thank you for all your wisdom. I really think you must have been a dog in your previous life. You really have a gift.
We would like some info. on how to handel our two male dogs.. some days they get along, but others the one male will growl and posture, and well thats all it takes for the other male and they fight very aggressively. We have gone as far as putting muzzels on both when they behave in this mannor.Could really get some advice on this problem...
Thank-You
I wish I had known that Cesar was going to be in NYC!! I'm in the area [adopted my dog one block away in late August] and would LOVE to meet Cesar. Please, please, please - let me know next time you are in the NYC area - perhaps a few days ahead of time. My pup is almost 11 mos. old, and I want to raise her well with Cesar's help. I LOVE your show Cesar [it's on Divo, of course], and will be ordering your DVD.
Thanks for all the invaluable information.
All the best,
Lisa Swain
I've watched some of your episodes and I'm amazed how dogs respond to you. I have a pitbull/lab mix, Kiki, and I have a couple problems with her like jumping on people and pulling like crazy when she gets walked. I didn't know you were in NYC until now, too bad I missed you. I wish you could come help with Kiki. Is there anyway?
Thanks,
Remy, Josh, and Kiki
I have a 2 year old female shih tzu who is a wonderful dog, we just brought home a male shih tzu puppie 8 weeks old. Our problem is the female is very leary of him when he wants to play. Just the sight of him makes her drool uncontrolably, she has never drooled before. We do not try to force the pup on her, we let her come to the pup for a sniff, but nothing seems to assure her. We have only had the pup for 2 days, is there something we should be doing for Sadie or just let time take it,s course? I just want Sadie to relax and not be so fearful of the pup.
I have a 2 year old male Maltese who is adorable but a little feisty. Since we brought him home, he and my husband have been inseparable. However, for the last 6 months, every time my husband pets him or picks him up, he growls. I cant figure out why he is growling or how to train him to stop. Is there some way to figure this out and retrain him?
To Barbara-- he is coming to Kerrville in March. I am driving down from Fort Worth just to go to his seminar. The contact information is on his dog psychology center's website.

Make sure you New Yorkers tell all about!

I know Cesar doesn't respond to questions, but does anyone else know where or how I can get a copy of that DVD with all the 1st season episodes? I've been searching the NGC website but can't find anything.
I have been watching the show for about 6 months and I love it. My family and I do try some of the tips for our animals and they are working. I think it is great.
My sister has a 1yr. old male pug, that impregnated an older female pug. My sister ended up giving my 5yr. old daughter, the pug puppy, she is a 8wk. old female, I need to kmow how to properly train her.
Dear Mr. Millan,
I watch all of your shows, it amazes me that I have used many of your methods with dogs all of my life. I am the President of a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter named RAVEN WOODS ANIMAL SANCTUARY. I am located in the boonies in South Louisiana. We were affected by Katrina but lost no animals. We took in 12 dogs labeled extremely agressive and they were licking me to death on day one. They all mind and I have reunited all but two pitt bulls with their owners. I have trouble when people want to adopt a dog/cat and their expectations are so high. We have built every thing out of our on money so we have kennels on cement with Tarps for shade and warmth, dog houses and we pressure wash every kennel everyday. We are not fancy but other shelter people all comment on how clean and organized we are and the animals are al in good condition. I have only ever had one dog returned and that was last week. The dog was a replacement for their deceased dog and new companion for their other dog. We spent time with several dogs until we found one their dog liked, they liked and the dog liked them. The is a beautiful mixed breed dog that is ripping her fur out, started hogging the water and food, the bed, then the people by nipping and lunging at them for attention. She started pulling huge amounts of hair out and clawing herself until she bled. Their vet said it maybe because she was spade (hormones). I told them they did not show the dog who was boss and did not give the dog enough attention/correction. She is a balding, bloody mess in less than a month. We are tending to her wounds, but I think the people haven't a clue how to handle two dogs, or be pack leaders. I know you speak about adopting from shelters; but you need to stress to these people that these dogs crave love and need to have boundaries set from day one. They need to be agressive with their animal if it is ruling them and ruining them, their other dog and itself. She is such a sweetheart I can't believe people have no clue how to make a dog mind. I taught our deaf Dalmation to be house trained. She walks well on the leash and is very respectful. We have 5 dogs inside our house and they all get along. All are different sizes, breeds and all rescues. It can be done. People need to watch your show and get your CD's. I wish you could do clinics like they do with horses. I also own two horses I used to have 14. I am disabled can't jump or do Dressage anymore so I sold them all but my two geldings. I took my abused Racehorse to Linda Tellington Jones clinics and he was a new horse after one clinic. He is 20 now but still my baby. Keep up the great work Mr. Millan. I love your show. My Husband won "Dog Lover of the Year Award" from Pedigree. I nominated him for it. We are going to New York in Feb. to receive his award and see the Westminster Kennel Club Show. Our first vacation since 1993. It will be like a honeymoon we just celebrated 32 years of marriage yesterday. Thank you and God Bless you and your family and all of your animal friends.
Sincerely,
Rebecca H. Thornton
DEAR CESAR! WILL YOU EVER BE IN SAN FRANCISCO?! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Cesar, I need help with my 6yr.old poodle who hates other dogs. I probably reinforced this behavior when she was young by soothing her while she barked at other dogs in puppy class. I can't live with this problem especially because we have another dog in the house. My poodle barks and bares teeth whenever the other dog comes near, even when the other dog shows submission. She seems afraid of other dogs, or doesn't want to be bothered by them. Can you help me? Sincerely, Margaret
Dear Cesar,
Have just rescued 2 pug puppies - they are both very sick, but getting better. They are 12 weeks old - do puggy puppies have any special needs?
Thanks,
Judith
I have a 3-year-old papillon. She's very well trained and an excellent companion for myself and my husband. However, she has a habit of licking faces that drives us nuts. She licks hands too and even does this to strangers. It's hard to have anyone over! Any ideas? This is literally the ONLY thing this little dog does wrong!
I am in some need of help. I am considering taking in a 7 month old Pitbull/boxer pup. I brought him over for a night to see how he would interact with my daughter and cats. He is a great little guy! He spent the night with my daughter. I wouldnt let him off the leash though in the house with the cats. I was a little afraid. One of the cats swatted him and he backed down. But I have seven cats. I am concerned for there saftey. I am buying a house and should be settled in a few weeks. My family wants this dog. He was slightly abused by a previous owner but is over all very friendly and laid back. Please give me any and all tips/advice. I don't want my cats to end up being mauled.
i love your shows even about tigers i love tigers a whole lot i got a question for you
Can a female puppy have puppies when she is very young?
please right back just this question
UPDATE ON BOXER/PITBULL ISSUE -
My homeowners insurance will not insure us if we own a pitbull, rotwieller or a german sheppard...
Don't know what's going to happen to the little pup now.
My wonderful 4-year-old cat, Ollie, is having a difficult time adjusting to losing our 7-yeat-old golden retreiver, Bogie. He had histicytic sarcoma. We have adopted a rescue puppy, Gracie, a lab mix with the operative term "mix!" Both are very gentle, sweet, and gernerally laid back animals. Ollie is being aggressive toward the 10-week-old pup and actually chases her in a not for fun way! Ollie has slept with us only once since "puppy" has landed. They were on opposite sides of the bed. Will they come to terms? We are tryng to reassure "kitty" that she is our number 1 cat!!!
Thanks for any suggestions!

Running out of options! How can I get on this show??
My dogs are insane. I spent $2,000 on doggie boot camp for nothing. The trainer basically instructed us to use a choke chain on one and a pinch collar on the other, give a command, if they don't listen yank the leash and give the command again, and repeat as necessary.
They listened to the instructor but not to me or my mother. I have suspicions he beat them to get them to listen but I could be wrong. They occasionally listen to me when it is convenient for them.
I hear the key is to walk your dog. Well how can I do that when my dog pulls me down the sidewalk? I have been dragged through mud, snow, and ice trying to hang on to this dog. She literally wrapped me around a tree one time.
She jumps the neighbors' fences. They keep threatening to call the police. We have to put her on a tie-out when we let her outside. But today she pulled it out of the ground and jumped the fence anyways.
We cannot crate her anymore because she has forced her way out of every single one we have bought her. She scarred up her face getting out of one. She actually chewed through the metal... she couldnt push the door open because there were three locks on it. So she has the run of the house now and has chewed a hole in the carpet and destroyed the couch, a chair, records, pillows, tuppeware... you name it, she's wrecked it.
I could go on and on... but I have to go buy another tie-out.
HELP PLEASE!!!
I have a lab mixed with red coon hound he is approx. 2 1/2 years old. He is very smart and obedient. For some reason when he sees the mail man or the mail truck he barks and pulls hard on the leash out of control. The same when around other dogs, motorcycles and bicycles. He responds well to commands but not during these situations. Please Cesar can you help me with this problem.
Hello! I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on how to handle my dog’s separation anxiety. Skip is 5yrs old Golden Retriever and he can’t stand being away from me and other members of the family. Skip is a great dog to be around (normally). He is very receptive to my body language. When I have a bad day I can tell that he knows. When I am happy he knows it and is right there to share the moment. Sometimes I think he knows me better than I know myself..haha. I have had him for about 4 years and since I got him he has yelped and paced back and forth when we leave the house. He purposely grabs things (food mostly) off of our counter and will drag it into the living room while we are gone almost to tell us he is angry that we are gone. We scold him every time he does it and it is to the point now where he just runs away from us the moment we open the door (before we find out what he did). He also can’t be in a confined area and way from us. When there is thunder or fireworks in the area it is very bad for him. We kept him in our den one evening while we went out and the neighbor was using fireworks. Skip ripped apart the interior wood door and brook thru it just to run around the house and yelp. When he goes outside he does better if he has the back yard to run around in (by nature I’m sure) than if we tie him up. If we tie him up he yelps over and over again. Recently he has peed in my bedroom while I was there. He has never done this before. In the past he always gives me a brief nudge and bark to say he needs to go out. I was so angry that I kept him outside while I was gone for a couple of hrs. I kept the garage’s back door open so he could get in if needed. It ended up thundering so I guess he got nervous and decided to break thru my breezeway window, grab onto the curtains and pull them outside and displayed them on the ground. I found him at the neighbor’s house. I guess he got so anxious that even the backyard felt too confined for him with the thunder going on so he somehow got out of my fenced yard. If I was with him he would have never done this (except for the pee part of course). Should I get him some anxiety pills or something? I don’t know what to do. When I am around I usually have no problems controlling him but when I am gone or not paying enough attention to him he acts crazy. If I am gone and he acts like this I am obviously unable to correct his actions because I simply am not there. Any advice is truly appreciated.
Dear Ceasar,
Your show is my favorite. The 2006's season's dog perspective camera work WORKS.
You are a GodSend to Mother Earth's family.
Hi everyone I was wondering how does cesar correct dogs when they are trying to move ahead of you when you are walking. I saw a scene from one episode, but I only caught like a few seconds and looked like he was pulling the leash back? I might be wrong thats why I am asking. Also have you seen what cesars method to stop your dog from mouthing you. Does he use his pin down method?
Im not sure if I am posting this in the right place but CESAR I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!! I have a Rottie/Domerman mix dog, I have had him for about 5 years. He is without a doubt a RED ZONE dog. He has already bit my 3 year old twice (on the face), and a friend of mine was also bit on the hand and had to get stitches....we had him fixed recently thinking this would solve the problem and nothing has changed as far as his attitude goes. He has killed 4 cats and 2 possums that have entered my yard... everytime someone comes to the gate his hair stands up on his back and hes ready to attack..what I dont understand is that he hasnt always been this way, it almost happened overnight! People that came to my house with no prolems out of the dog before are no longer allowed in the gate. I am so scared he is going to seriously hurt my kids or someone else. He does mind me and he is trained, but when we are outside and a car passes or an animal or someone walks down the road he chews on the fence and goes bezerk and pretends not to hear or see me trying to correct him! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help, I am on the verge of putting him to sleep and I would really like it if I could keep this from happening!!! I do love him very much! ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!

My Fiance and I adopted a Beagle/Boxer mix from the Humane Society. As well as already having inheratited from my future father-inlaw a 12 year old Irish Terrier. The Beagle Mix is four years old and does very well with the Irish Terrier, but we have a problems when they are around other dogs.
Reilly (the Beagle Mix) when he sees another dog freaks out and has once gotten out of his leash and went after the other dogs. He is 64 lbs and strong so my fiance can not control him when this happens. I have tried to put him in the submissive position but it does not seem to work. He does not want to lay down and will sometimes growl at us. He will not bite us but we do not want it to come to that. Please help us to figure out how to prevent these fits. Trouble in Boston...

Obviously that hurts my sons feeling & couln't stop cying, till finally we found a doctor that did everything that was in her hand to safe him, and she did. Walley that's his name will be a year old in April, he's a true fighter, we loved him very much, but like all the other dogs he still behave like a little puppy and likes to bites everything he finds, and I mean everything he has complete destroy my garden, and we have not been able to potty trained him. Mr. Millan, I have seen you on national geographic for at least a year. I have a disability & it is very hard for me to train my Dobie so that I wont have to worry about falling down & hurting myself. I know alot about dogs as I have learned over the years, this is my 3rd Doberman & my 5th Yorkie. I have always have had 2yorkies & a Dobie. Now in my life I need help in training her & I beleive that he is truly the best & know that he does it from the heart not the pocketbook!!!!!!!! I really would like to know if it is possible for him to come to my home. I live in New York in Westchester County. I have just moved here & in my building it is a Dog Friendly building. I was able to get the apt because of my Vet in Scarsdale York from a person that works on this staff that lives in my building. In New York it is so hard to find a Pet Friendly place to live. I was not going to give up my pets!!!! I really hope that you can help. I also have told alot of people where I am living about Cesar Millan. Again I want to thank you so much for your help in trying to get Cesar to help me.
Sincerely
Maryann Gerbino

dear cesar,
we have 3 pitbulls how do we get them along as
a pack and they are 2 males 1 female
I have a 9 month old Boxer/Pitbull mix. He is such a sweet dog in our house but he has real issues especially with other dogs most troubling, with kids. I have watched every episode of the dog whisperer and I take Jacob on walks regularly and he walks beside me and does ok in that aspect. But the other day he jumped at my neice and he snapped at a young boy who wanted to pet him today. I understand that my attitude has to be calm and assertive when I am walking and I try to show that while I am walking but at the same time I can't get the fear of other dogs walking up or kids running or walking by and I have learned that by watching Cesar's show that he will feed off of this. The trouble is now matter how hard I tell my self to not feel this way I can't help but get this deep seeded nervousness as I'm walking. I used to think that as long as I looked the part it would be ok but apparently it's not. Therefore I'm going to have him scheduled to be put down because I can't risk him harming another person especially a kid. I know that with a new owner that knows how to train dogs that Jacob would be fine. He is a beautiful and loving dog but he is extremely insecure. Please help me save my dog's life by either finding him another home or with some support. Thanks so much.
My one yr old Golden-Doodle (1/2 poodle, 1/2 Golden Retreiver) won't stop eating rocks. He has already had one surgery to remove two that became lodged in his belly and intestine. My dad says he will pay for ONE more surgery but then we will have to find him another home.
We have a sodded back yard and my Jake has his twin sister Lulu to play with all day along with me and my twin brother. My Jake will just dig and dig until he finds those rocks. Does anyone know how to break him of this life-threatening habit?
Thank you for helping.
Scooby is an 8 month Maltese who has a stubbornness to him that is undefinable. He is enrolled in obedience class but refuses to be trained. He goes to the training class, stands there throughout the whole training, and obeys not one command from me. He refuses to look at me, refuses treats, and is a very unhappy guy looking and wanting to only play with other dogs. In trying to enforce the training, we practice approximately 10 minutes each day, but he runs ahead of me, and when he is pulled back while on the chock collar, he fights to get his own way. He wants to be in control and I cannot seem to get that one step ahead of him. Scooby is a much faster walker/runner than me. I always thought of myself as a stern disciplinarian, but this has me stumped and quite frustrated. Prior to obedience class, Scobby graduated from Puppy Class, was obeying initial commands and is very animal and human oriented. I don't know where else to turn to. We desperately need your help and advice.
I hope you read these emails, Cesar Millan because we have taken what you have said in most of the shows that I have watched and that my husband has watched and have applied it to our german shepherd female not quite a year old. We have learned that we were doing it wrong about walking our previous german shepherd and now we walk Angel without stopping at corners and we have put a pack on her to make her work for her walk. We have gotten in front of her to stop her barking at other animals and told her to "leave it" so that she leaves it alone. We got her when she was 6 weeks and found out that she has a birth defect with her front leg that it will be shorter than the others but we still walk her with the pack on her and we also walk her with a pinch collar. It has made me realize that you can't just sit on your duff and yell at the dog, you have to get up and get in their face to correct them and keep going until you have the correction you want from them. I will continue to watch your show to find out how to correctly get Angel to socialize with other dogs. We need also to find a way to have Angel leave the rabbits, squirrels and birds alone in other words telling her that she isn't a bird dog or rabbit dog. Also we have to learn how to get her not to be so possessive of her yard that she barks at someone that is a house away on the sidewalk. Once we figure out these things and keep working with her we will have a good dog. Again Thank you for your show and I too wish that you were in the area of the midwest of Iowa. Thank you. Barbetta R
My husband and I recently saved a pitbull puppy from being put down. We are not sure of his age, nor his breeding. He is absolutely fabulous....except....I am afraid that he was abused in his past home(s). We have a large 7year old male Akita, an 8year old cat, a fgive year old and a one year old. He (Soldier) is very good with the dog, cat, kids, and me. When my husband tries to approach him, even with a treat, he pees himself. Yet, he will run to go somewhere in the car with him, on a walk, or even out back. We love him, and he is so happy, but I don't know how to fix the peeing problem. It is when he gets excited or scared? Do you have any advice so my husband & he can bond and we can keep him?
We are a family of four boys. We have always told our boys that when we had a yard, we would get a dog. Our dreams have come true and we were able to move from a condo to a home and now my boys want to get a dog. From watching your show (which I love) I wonder if you could give us any advice on selecting a dog for our family? Are they any suggestions you can give us. Are there any classes out there to help us take this responsibility and select the best dog for us. The boys want a big dog and I would pick soley on cuteness and want to pick the best one for our family. ANY HELP?

Cesar,
I have a 8 month poodle, her name is Savannah. I take her outside so she can do her thing, but she does not want to pee. Savannah also cries when she is in her cage. My two dogs have their own room and I Savannah urinates in the room, instead of outside.
Help Cesar, I don't know what to do.
We need help!!! My husband and I adopted an abused chihuahua mix from the shelter. She is two years old and we are having great sucess using Cesar's methods, she is picking up really fast.
One HUGE problem is the doggie door. The only way we could get her to go in and out was to remove the flap. But now with the hot weather, flys, etc. We put the flap back on and she is terrified, won't come through it at all.
We have been helping her go through so she knows she can, but she won't budge.
Any suggestions out there in dog-lover land??
Dear Cesar,
My dog Bailey is a pure-bred Newfoundland. She is six years old and I love and care for her more than you can imagine. I have loved dogs ever since I can remember. That means I will do anything for my dogs to make them comfortable and happy where they live. Bailey, when she was just a puppy, has tired to hide from Big Trucks( Fedex, Trash trucks, trailors, UPS trucks, and lots more. She hid in the garage under my moms Expedition. Now, she gets the idea she can chase after them if she gets out of our control. She has once gotten hit by a truck because she went after it. She hurt her front paw but was all better in 2 weeks. Everyday she barks and gets herself all wound up that she runs throught the house and almost beaks things.- Sometimes. She even jumps on the door. I dont know why she acts this way or even if she wants to attack it or is afraid of them. I need your advice on how to make her stop her wackyness. What should I do to make this behavior go away?
Sincerley, Shana - loving big sister!

Dear cesar i have a long haired chihuahua mix.i got him at the pound he was on his way to the vet to be put to sleep.he doesn't really get along with other dogs he goes after them and if he isn't on a leash i am afraid he might get in a fight.he doesn't like strangers when they come to the house.he tries to nip at you if you pet him for very long and he is almost afraid of everything that makes noise. i was wondering what i should do about it because many people tell me i should put him to sleep the only dog he really gets along with is a small chihuahua terrier mix across the street.i am 14 years old and i had another dog and i think i am trying to replace her with brown(my chihuahua mix).my other dog was very gressive when it came to her family and if we were in trouble she would defend us. i guess i am trying to replace her with brown.i believe he is a scared dominant dog but i don't know how to controll him he practicalywalks me.if my mother takes him out he doesn't want to go.i am the only one that he listen to in the house.but he only listens to me when he want to.i was also wondering if you put the dogs in your pack up for adoption? becaus eme and my mom would really apreciate it if you were to let us adopt one. we would perfer a large dog such as a pitbull or a germen sheperd or maybe a huskie.please write back love your show watching dog whisperer week really love what you do.
We recenetly purchased a 2 year old rescued dog who lived her short live in a cage. She has a great disposation, wonderful with the grandchildren and visitors. She is very gentel dog.
The one and only problem we have with her. Since she was never outsdie her cage she does not know not to walk or lay in her poop. This one thing may be the reason we end of getting rid or her and it will break our hearts.
However, to come home to this every day is unbearable. We have to bath her clean the mushed poop from the floor.
Please help us with this
My sister-in-law has always been afraid of dogs and it's no surprise why. Her mother was always afraid and said she was "mauled" when she was young, making her daughter afraid too. Also, since my mother-in-law doesn't like dogs anyway, it's hard to say what "mauled" really was. Could have been that a dog just knocked her down and licked her face and she's calling it mauled! My sister-in-law is now an adult and has children of her own and of course the cycle has repeated itself--the kids are both very afraid of dogs too. However, the family is considering getting a dog for Christmas since the little girl has said she wanted one! The dad probably had some exposure to dogs and animals as a child as he lived in a rural area, however I've never heard him talk about his pets. Every time a dog gets within 50 feet of the little boy, he screams and jumps into his mother's arms. The daughter snd my sister-in-law do seem better than they used to be but it still seems like a bad idea to get a dog. Until they watch Cesar's show (which they don't seem that interested in doing at this point), this seems like a disaster waiting to happen. I've tried to tell them about some of the techniques and get them interested in watching the show but it's not working! Does this make sense to get a dog? Cesar hasn't done a show yet on generations passing down their fear of dogs has he? I've seen adults be afraid of dogs on the show but not seen the kids shown much.
