I have 2 female doxies. 3 & 4 yrs. old. Just got the 3 yr. old a few weeks ago. She doesn't bark much, but has this high pitch whine when excited which drives the 4 yr. old crazy. The 4 yr. old started growling and barking at her yesterday and then they got into a fight. It was the 3 yr old ..usually calm, quiet, sweet..that was on top of the other. How can I get them to get along? Also, what's the best way to walk a doxie? They are so interested in all the smells that are so close to their nose. I read that Cesar's collar wouldn't be best for a breed with that kind of neck. Thanks for any ideas and insights.

Sad to see the 3rd season come to an end. We are "new" to "The Dog Whisperer" this year although our dght & son-in-law have watched from the "get go"! We're awaiting arrival of DVD's of the first two seasons, however! Great work and congratulations to Cesar and all associated with the show. Promise us there will be many more seasons ahead! Thanks for many hours of pleasure in watching unstable dogs become stable; for your sincere care for our pets; and for educating all of us to be better pack leaders!

I had a very sweet white poodle for 17 years. She was 18 years old when I had to have her "put down". It broke my heart. She was so gentle and loving to everyone. I really didn't tthink that I would ever want another dog.But a year after "Sandy" had been gone, a friend of mine talked me into getting another dog. She is a toy poodle..Nothing at all like my Sandy was. "Tootie" wasn't even a year old when I got her. A co-worker of mine had rescued her from the pound. "Tootie" is so cute, but she has some bad habits. She can't stand for anyone to ring the doorbell. She barks and just about goes "crazy"! When some one comes to visit she barks and jumps on them. She acts like she would like to bite them. I contacted a professional dog trainer and she spent some time here at my home. Some of the ideas she gave me helped. But "Tootie" still does a lot of the things that
worry me. I am afraid that she might bite somone. Most of the time I just tell people when they come in to ignore Tootie, and that does help sometimes. I paid $600.00 to the trainer. I feel that I wasted my money! Cesar's way has helped me more. I love little Tootie so much. And I want everyone else to like her also. But I can't take her into a store because she doesn't know
how to act like a "lady". She wants to bark at everyone. She just gets to excited. She is very possessive of her "treats", or her food. If someone comes in our house , she will run to get her treats and will gobble down her food. I wonder if she learned to protect her food when she was in the pound. She is healthy and gets regular check ups at the vet. Does anyone out there in "cyber space" have a little dog like mine?? I am hoping that she will get more calm with age. I love her very much. I guess I'm not a vey good "pack leader"..

I really love the show it really gives you alot of insight into dog behavior and human behavior. I love the whole pack leader philosophy. Me and my kids watch this show everytime it is on, I don't have a dog but watching this show makes me want to own one. Great job Cesar!

To whom it may concern.. I live in the central standard time zone. I would really appreciate it if you would list that time also. I do not have cable nor an antenna to receive any reception. I tape (VCR) the Dog Whisperer on Friday nights at a friends house and I look forward to every Friday night in watching the new episodes. I do not know what happened but either I messed up or you messed up the schedule. I know that the Ghost whisperer came on CBS an hour before and I had set that up also. I checked three times to make sure I set it up right to record both the Ghost Whisperer on CBS and the Dog Whisperer on NGC. I got neither. Whose at fault? When will that particular Ghost Whisperer episode with Cesar Millan be on again? Please refer me to the right people so I may inquire. Thanks.
It's Friday night and I am heartbroken in Texas...Lezlee

I just watched your guest appearance on Ghost Whisperer - it was great to watch- I totally admire your patienc & knowledge & I wish more people would watch & listen to you- Thanks for being you- -a dog lover

I need help! I have the sweetest 3 year old yellow lab- she is truly an amazing dog. However, we just replaced our carpet with hardwood and she is scared to death to walk on it. Her nails are trimmed, and she will walk on tile etc. It's just the hardwood floors she is petrified of. Anyone have any advice?

Recently my sister has taken on three dogs, a pit bull mix, a rotweiler mix, and a lab. They were able to live fine together, but the lab had attacked a dog previously. Not more then four months ago thw two girls got into a huge fight where they hurt each other pretty badly, and one had to get stitches. Then about a week later they got into it again and bit my sisters arm open, and my dad's hands open. She became afraid of the girls, and understandably so. She watches your show all the time, and keeps wishing she could get some advice. I didn't know how else to try to contact you, these are beloved animals, and none of us are ready to get rid of them. In desperate need of help. Thank-you.
Nicci

I enjoy watching your show when i get to view the program. I do have tivo now so I can record your programs if I cant see them when they are aired. Also, I was noticing your credits befor your show and saw a familier name came up that has the same name as my daughter whom I haven't seen in almost twelve years. Her name is Melisa Joe Peltier. My name is Andre D. Peltier she and her brothers and sisters' used to call me {Poppop}. Please reply.

Cesar

I am a huge fan of your show and think you are the greatest. I am almost finished reading your book and I am already working on rehabilitating my 3 yr old Miniature Schnauzer Drake. He tends to jump all over me when I get home and I am trying to put a stop to that using your methods.

I just saw the episode where you helped the girl afflicted with cerebral palsy to walk the dog her grandfather gave her. I knew that you would be able to rehabilitate the dog but when the grandfather showed up to witness this I must admit I had tears in my eyes. You are a special man and I am sure the family and especially Maureen and her grandfather are greatful for your help with them. You serve a special purpose in life and I am sure many would say the same to you!

Hi Cesar,
Love your show. Sorry that the 3rd season has come to an end. Hope there will be a forth. I have all of your dvd's and recorded your most recent shows. Pls I have a couple of the Illusion Collars which works wonders. I have a 10 year old female Jack Russell/Beagle. What a terror. When I adopted her when she was 8 months old, I didn't know what I was getting into. I had a beautiful Cocker Spaniel, who had passed on 2 months before I got this one. She was fear aggressive, barked at every little sound, at people, you name it she had it. She even clipped me a few times. But when I got hold of your show, it's doing wonders. She does not rule me, and I'm not afraid of her anymore. I want to thank you for teaching me how to train her. Good luck with your new Organization and your new Dog Psychology Facility. Hope you come with a fourth season. God Bless you. Lauren and Coco.

I need help and I hope someone can help me. I have 4 dogs and the baby is a jack russell/min pin mix. He is a very smart dog, but when in the back yard he turns into a bitting mean dog when people come near the fence. If I have him in my arms and the same people come to the fence he is fine. But when he is loose he is mean. How can I change this.

Hi Cesar I am writing to say that I love your show . I am very scared of dogs but love them. A scar from my childhood.
I watch the spca shows on tv where they help dogs that are abused by owners. They seem to help them get healthie then when they show some bad habits such as maybe a little mean....they put them to sleep. I was wondering if there would be away to help the dogs to behave and then they could live.
Just a question

Hi everyone...I have a pack of Old English Mastiffs....The oldest is 2 and a half years old....Gerzee was sprayed with paraquat 2 days before she gave birth to her first litter....I was able save 3 babies...8 others were born dead....the vet had to remove her female parts plus half of her stomach...I kept the little girl out of the first litter...hand raised the litter...name is Gerzee's Lil' Miracle....Since then we have acquired a apricot tiger striped brindle male,a fawn tiger striped brindle female.....They all get along....not going to breed till females are close to 2 yrs old.....Recently I acquired a show quality apricot female that I will breed in June....Problem is Female from Gerzee's poison litter is slightly domineering and we are going to bring new one home this weekend.... should we muzzle Lily(1st female)? How do we introduce her to Lily....other dogs are not going to be a problem.....HELP PLEASE....Gerzee weighs 200,Sir Alfie weighs 160 at 11 months, Kate D Bug is 150 lbs at 11 months, Lily is 140 at 10 months, new female Goldilocks is 1 yr and 170lbs......all are AKC...and microchipped.....Any suggestions?

I have my own little pack of 4 in Newton, MA and am afraid that I am not making the best pack leader. I have two pugs and two Japanese Chins. One of the pugs is terrible on the least, she flies out at cars as the pass by in our suburban neighborhood and as we don't have a fenced in back yard, we must walk her several times a day. We have tried everything to get her to stop and my fear is that one day her leash or harness will break and she will fly into the street and be hit. This pug is 5 and we have had her since she was a puppy.

Five months ago we adopted a 7 year old male pug from a rescue and he is fine on the leash but misbehaves terribly in the car - he pants and screams and crashes around, never relaxing even on a long car trip. If I begin to even slow down, his anxiety builds and forget about going through a drive thru or getting gas pumped - he will make such a racket that it sounds like someone is being tortures.

Just recently we adopted a one year old Japanese Chin from a resuce and he will not walk on the least at all. He sits down and stiffens his legs and will only be pulled. Not good when you must walk your dogs to potty and excercise.

Last, I have a 7 month old Chin who I got from a breeder and seems to have not problems! One out of four - I think I have my work cut out !

I've had several male Labs over the years and have successfully trained them for manners and retrieving, but I find myself in a clueless situation that's a real heartbreaker for me.
Two years ago, I got my first female Lab ... she's WONDERFUL ... smart, not too aggressive, all the family loves her.

We have two female Jack Russells who were here when I first brought "Kate" home as a puppy and unfortunately didn't realize just how dominant they would be. To this day, as an adult, Kate cowers badly, ears flat, head down and sometimes to the point of urinating on the floor when "Lottie", the oldest, most dominant approaches her. As I said, it breaks my heart for her, but I can't for the life of me correct this. I'm thinking of finding a suitable home for the Lottie, but we love her, too.

I watch your shows closely, looking for a situation similar to this, but have not seen one. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ozzie

I have 4 dogs. 2 labrador retriever age 5 (1 male 1 female), 1 female golden retriever age 6 and one female English Bulldog age 3. My house was a loving zoo until my bulldog turned 2 years old. Since then my house has turned into a war zone.My bulldog started having severe aggression towards the other females.Blood, ripped torn skin, teeth gnarling, became the norm until we could no longer put ourselves in danger in hopes of separating them. The fighting became so severe that we were left no choice but to separate the dogs or give one set away. We opted to live in a house of shifts. Feeding shifts, sleeping shifts, playing shifts, walking shifts. It has become a house divided. Counseling, medication and training did nothing except empty our bank account. Separately the dogs are loving, playful funny and delicious. Can life EVER go back to everyone living harmoniously together under one roof. Our stress levels now run so high we just want our normal happy life back if possible.....HELP!

Since the Dog Whisperer is no longer on NGC, please let me know what channel to view the episodes on. I am a fan of Cesar Milan's and I enjoy his shows.

Please help me by letting me know where to view his shows.

Between my boyfriend and I we have 5 dogs: 2 Labs (one a puppy), a Shih Tzu, a Heeler-Sheltie mix, and a Chihuhua-Min Pin Mix (Puppy, too). By reading Cesars books and watching the show we've learned so much about being calm assertive pack leaders. I've even brought the skills to my work as a Childcare Director.
Yesterday we took the entire pack (except for the Shih Tzu, Georgie) on a long walk (our first with new Chihuhua mix). We all walked briskly, making sure the dogs all stayed in their place. The little one stayed with us and did not pull. We walked by a few dogs who are known for their barking and bullying and they came up to us, but our pack kept moving and we made the 3 mile walk as a group. We were pleased with our pack and finished it with a game of bubbles and ball.
Thank you Cesar. Because of the skills we're learning our 5 dog pack feels like a family because everyone knows their place (including the humans)

Sincerely

George, Kaycee
Georgie, Charley, Holly, AJ and Kitty

I have a pit bull. Many people think pit bulls are dangerous, I beg to differ. My pit bull named Tiny, named for a gift, is the most calm, submissive dog I know. She listens to what I say, and obeys what I tell her. I think it is how a person acts towards the dog is how it will act. I have taught her to sit, back up, roll over, talk, and she will wait to fetch until I call the number she can go for. Her best friend is a cat. Tootie cleans her and sleeps with her (and us). It is like everything else in life, be kind to them and it will come back to you.

thank you cesar for your show. jackie my jack russell will not come when called. why not? we go to dog park 3 or 4 times a week
and she has taken a dislike to other dogs trying to get to know her, growling and baring her teeth. this behavior just started.
other small things, will get into at another time if possible,
thanks again for your show love jackie and shug.

Cesar,
In the past I could view "The Dog Whisperer" 2-3 times a week on the National Geographic chanel (I susscribe to Time Warner).
I haven't seen your show on TV for quite a while now. When I contacted Time Warner they said they distributed content I needed to contact some one else. We really love your show and were faithful watchers. Please forward this note to the appropriate folks so we can view The Dog Whisperer in Columbia, SC.

I love my border collie, dog very much. He has a lot of problems like pulling on leach, chaseing birds, getting out of gate by going under, chase cars, mean with food, very territorial about area, bites people and I can't let him go from a leach, because I am afraid that he is going to run away. Please help us!!! I like to see your shows they are very interesting. My dogs' name is Snoopy. He is going to be 2 on July15,2007

Hi Cesar,
I am so interested in what you do and the psycology behind it. I had an idea to see if you would go to pounds/ or humane centers and train some of the dogs so that they would be more likely to be adopted. Thanks for everything you do, you're such an inspiration.

Oh how I wish you could come to Australia and teach my mother your wonders! I have a 13 year old pure miniature Bichon Frise who is submissive and my sister has an aggresive BF Cross. I've often thought the traditional dog training method is a little patronising to their intellegence, so when stumbled across your show towards the beginning of this year, I was amazed with what I've instinctively been doing as correct. Although I do think you are a little rough at times, tbat's a human thing. Dogs visciously bite each other without a second thought after all. Keep up the good work educating current owners. If only you could see what some do here!

I have two dogs. A two year old pit bull Mia and a one year old pit bull Kane. Kane and Mia grew up together, we don't raise them to fight. Mia and Kane are the best of friends. Today Mia and Kane got into a fight over a stick. Kane has a little blood on him. I don't know if Mia bled or not. It was very hard to break them up this has never happened before. I am scared to leave Mia and Kane out together because they might get into a fight that I cannot break up. Please up

Dear Cesar,
My name is Alex. I am a 12 year old boy that deaperately needs your help! I have a 6 year old Dachund named riley with a major temperment problem. My mom and dad are at their last string with him. they are going to put him to sleep within 5 months.
I under stand if i can't be on your show because of my location. But i am hoping and praying that you can reccomend someone that is good and and close to my location if i can't be on your show. my heart and my dogs life are depending on you. I beg you to do what you can. my dog's life depends on it. THANK YOU

Dear Cesar,
I just read that the 50 dogs (pit-bulls) confiscated in the Vick case are probably going to be euthanized. The article I read states that is the most humane thing that can be done for them because they cannot be rehabilitated and will never make good pets.

I am the owner of two rescue dogs (not pit-bulls) and have seen miracles happen once they got into a stable, secure, loving home. I'm sure many owners couldn't take on such "problem dogs" as Vick's, but surely someone could. I find it ironic that Vick is accused (in part) for killing his dogs, and the 50 were "rescued" to save them from him, but now are still likely to be killed. The only difference is the hopefully more humane manner.

Is there truly no hope for them or was the article quoting an ill informed "expert."

Thanks for all you do.

I would like to know where I need to go to ask a question about my problem with my dog.
I am not affraid to scold my pet when she is acting badly.
I am the only female in the house and I have a 6 month puppy that has been fixed. After she had her opperation so she would not get pregnant she had a sharp piece of glass from the front door. I took her to the emergancy dog hospital to have the cut looked at and she needed a stich and big plastic collar.
The very next day she started showing her teeth when I fed her food in a bowl, and did not start growling until I gave her more than 3 times a food offer.
NOW she growls when ever I try to feed her anything except our daily morning yogurt.
She does not do this to my husband or his son, only me.
The dog plays like the son is her sibiling and my husband is her master. She comes to my husband when not on a leash, but will not do this for me or our son.
The worst problem is the teeth and growling at me when I feed her.

When she is tired it happens the most.
PLEASE help me I need her as a Service Animal and I can't do that with her doing this.
Waiting for your reply with help on this matter,
Suzzanne Barwick

I share my life with Maxx, a 2yr. old blk. lab X dane. He is a shelter dog fr. up north in B.C. Canada. I have intuitivly followed my own instincts and those of many books. Maxx, "was" emotionaly damaged and violent...Cesar's words: "off" "unbalanced". Cesars book is the first book that I am proud to say...invites "all" dogs to a happier, healthier life! Cesar's approach to exercise is a possitive in Maxx's life. Maxx also goes to day care with reg. 4 hr. hikes, 1-2 x's a week with another pack of 10 -15 dogs "off leash". This has helped him to just be a dog, my dog! However, I am still working on my energy that I give Maxx...In Maxx's world, good things take time!
A lover of shelter dogs.

My dog JoJo IS 1 years old he is a sweet hart but he does thing that get in your nerv. Examples like when some one comes in the door he gets exited and start jumping in your fast and start bitting it.He also distroydes all the things he does poop and podies avery were and some times he runs away for hours and when we find him he is with a girl dog.

I have a Chihuhua that is 9 months only. He has two behavior problems. One, he barks all the time, every little noice he hears, he barks at it. He caused our neighbor lady to move out because of the barking at night. The other is he chews on everything. Whatever he can find he chews on it. Can you please give a little free advice on what I can do to stop him from barking all the time and chewing up everything.
Thank You,

I have a 6 year old lab that has went from totally being an indoor dog with 5 acres to play on to living in the city having to be in a kennel during the day. At night she sleeps in the house. We went through two chain link kennels from her breaking threw the links, to buying a $500 steel welding kennel that she keeps pulling the butterfly locks off. Were talking three clamps on the door at a time. She is only in her kennel for about 5 hours a day. She has her favorite toy and bone in with her but its not enough. I can't trust leaving her inside the kennel because I fear that she will bust the lock again. Shes so determined to get out that her teeth bleed and weve noticed that she has broke at least 4 of the tack welds on the door. What can I do more. Shes very loved, played with, and is part of out family.

hi, i love dog whisperer so much. i watch it every time it comes on. i love dogs so, i decided to make a speech about saveing and understanding misunderstood dog breeds like: pit bulls, rott wielers, chow chows, and dobermans. if ceaser is reading this then please e-mail =)

DOGS HAVE FEAR OF HUMAN CONTACT
We have been feeding two stray dogs (one for nearly a year) and the other one for months. The dogs are not aggressive and get along well with the neighborhood dogs but will not have anything
to do with people. I put food out and they eat. I also give them treats which I have to leave for them. I can do all sorts of yard work and they lay around like it is their place. Actually, I would like it to be their space but they need more than just a hand out and I have been trying to get close to them at their pace. One dog when you start toward her or even look at her, she goes across the field. She looked so bad and moved so slow when I started leaving food for her. She has picked up and would make a great pet but will have no contact with humans.. How do you gain their trust and confidence and retain their free spirit? The two dogs together remnd you so much of the movie "Homeward Bound" for they look to each other, and where you see one the other is close by.
What do you do? Do I call the Dog Pound and let them catch the dogs? I would like to have both
dogs and give them the care they need but wonder if the pound catching the dogs would be worse on them and make them even more afraid of people.
Both dogs would make great pets if they could overcome their fear of people. Any help or advice on how to get close to them would be greatly appreciated. I sure hate the thought of calling the pound if there is any other way I can help these two strays with the care they need.
I'm not familiar with a Dog Whisperer or your show but it sounds great and I wish we had reception to view it. Looking for help.
