Canine Complex

All animals, humans included, are sensitive to the “vibes” of other animals.

So when you have a group of dogs living in an apartment complex with their people, they share an innate ability to recognize the energy of the others.

And when they’re a group of unstable dogs that don’t see their owners as pack leaders, they will try and create balance among each other. But the problem is if they are unstable to begin with, their attempts to balance the other dogs can make a bad situation worse.

Sounds like they are going new directions for Season 4! Wow!!!

You know we have really seen this element in Cesar's pack when a new dog is brought in to be introdced and socialized. Cesar frequently will say that he can tell the truth of where the dog is (or even human if the human is dealing with their fear of dogs) bu the collective way the dog reacts.

I will also be curious to see if this translates to dog park activity. I enjoy going just to sit and watch the dog behaviors to study dog language and learn more about telling when a dog is n a hyper reactive, or moving into a agressive position. Interesting how many times I have seen that esalated by the actions of the owner!

The dog whisperer show had a contest, you could submit a video for Cesar's June 24th, 2007 webinar. If your video was selected by Cesar you would get your dogs issue discussed at the webinar and you would win a free on demand webinar. My video was selected and used and now they will not honor the prize of the free on demand webinar, isn't this kind of like FRAUD? I have called the Dog PSYHCOLOGY CENTER, CMI, and Copia (the company that does the webinars). None of these places has called back, this to me is just plain mean and rude, maybe a better word is uncaring. Fans Beware and do not submit videos.

Hi, I just saw the episode, Chuy, Jack & Carmine this morning and I was curious about the breed of the brown/tan dog that resembled a German Shepherd. What a great looking dog! I hope I'm posting this in the right place. Keep making more seasons- The Dog Whisperer is my favorite show :)

Thanks!

Sarah

I enjoy the show. I want to see prison puppy pals again when Cesar went to a women's prison to help the women train the dogs better.

I also liked the segments a couple Fri.'s ago.

I wish he could come to Princeton, IL and train some of the dogs that are out of control in the Friends of Strays shelter. And also at Ivar, in Spring Valley, IL (about 25 miles away) The dogs are put down because of behavior problems.

We could have a The Dog Whisperer Festival and sell things from the shelter. The whole town of about 7,000 people would come, I know. Then Cesar could come to the shelter and film.

Milton is a 3month old puppy that was adopted and brought back about 10 hours later because he was so uncontrollable.

IVAR (IL Vallley Animal Rescue) is losing volunteers because they put the dogs down because they have behavior problems. Cesar could talk to Chris Ellberg (founder) and help her with the dog problems, I know. It would be great to have him! Thanks, dolores PS: I look forward to every program!

Could Cesar train any of Michael Vick's dogs-or will they all have to be put down?

In April 2007, we adopted a dog from the No. Hollywood Animal Shelter - bringing our dog total to 3. This dog is terrified of fireworks/gunshots that occur in our area. She tenses every muscle - I now see what they mean by "stricken with fear" - and then she'll shake uncontrollably. This seems to be her only fear. Curiously, television and movies with loud noises, gunshots, explosions don't seem to phase her. She's adapted well to our home and family; but, we don't know how to help her when this occurs. We've tried reassuring and ignoring, but neither seem to change the outcome - which is she eventually sleeps from exhaustion. (The other dogs don't seem to know what to do with her either - they sense/smell her fear and turn away.) Any ideas? (Besides moving...)

I have always gotten my dogs from the Humane Society or the Adopt A Pet organization and have never been disappointed in the dog I have brought home. My latest little guy, however, is full of enery and has been very instrumental in helping me shed some unwanted weight by being very insistent that we walk two or three times a day. I remember seeing an episode about a Dog being given to a Fire Department and the firemen having a difficult time training the dog and helping channel the dogs energy around the firehouse. Ceasar taught the dog to use the treadmill which looked pretty good. That was really a good way to help keep the dog fit which made me wonder about what to do when living in an area like mine where walking outside in the winter is not always a good option. My little dog is very active and likes our walks but winters here cannot always accommodate dog walking. Any ideas? Yes, I do have a treadmill but I am not sure how to train this dog to get use to it.

How can I order Prison Puppy Pals on DVD? Will it be aired again. Please answer.

Il Valley Animal Rescue is being criticized for putting the dogs down. The director/founder says she must because they are not being adopted out-because of behavioral problems.

Could Cesar please come to the Princeton and Spring Valley areas and work with these dogs?

I do not do videos, but am presently working with a digital camera. I volunteer at Friends of Strays, but the newspapers have had a lot on IL Valley Animal Rescue for putting the dogs down. Founder Chris Ellberg says she has no choice.

They really do need guidance, or a trainer for some of these dogs. The volunteers are leaving because so many dogs die.

We really would benefit from having Cesar come to our small towns-which they all compose one big city. He would be a great plus to have for our towns, and his coming would help to wake some people up to the seriousness of the homeless animal population.

Please come Cesar. please email them at: MODERATOR'S NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT POST PERSONAL INFORMATION, INCLUDING EMAIL ADDRESSES, TO THE BLOG. THANK YOU!

Thank you.
