Special Announcement: Cesar Milan Officially a US Citizen

Cesar Millan Gets Sworn InDog Whisperer Cesar Millan took the oath today to officially become a U.S. citizen. Cesar, who passed his citizenship test earlier this year, attended the swearing in-ceremony this morning with dozens of others in Montebello, Calif., just north of Los Angeles. Cesar was joined by his wife Ilusion and two sons, Andre and Calvin, who attended to cheer him on (they are already U.S. citizens).

"This is the ultimate culmination of living the American dream," said Millan. "Becoming an U.S. citizen has been a goal of mine since I first came to this great country. I have much to thank this country for, and all of the success it has afforded me and my family, and now I am proud to be a citizen."

Straight from Cesar earlier today...

"For many years now, I have been a legal resident of the United States and considered this country my home. Today I officially become an American citizen, and I could not be more proud!

Immigrants such as myself come to the United States because of the opportunities available here. You are free to be the person you choose to be spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. The sky is the limit! My story is just one example of that. I came here with nothing but the clothes on my back, and through the kindness of strangers and hard work, I was able to see my dreams become a reality. Now, by spreading my message of balance, I work to give back to a country that has given me so much."

Cesar Millan and his family celebratesBe sure to drop a note of congratulations to Cesar right here! He'd definitely appreciate it!

Hey Cesar congratulations! I am proud of you taking this step!

We are all proud to have you as a fellow citizen of this great country. Heartfelt congratulations.

From ALL of us at CalloftheDog

Hi Cesar! Congratulations. Dog Whisperer is my favorite tv show.
You are such an amazing and inspiring person. Your methods have helped me lots with the neighborhood dogs when I walk my little beagle mix. God bless and please keep the shows coming!

Felizidades! We are very proud of you.

Congrats Cesar...
Im sure all of our four-legged family members are just as proud of you as we are! Keep up the good work. You and your family are making this country an even better place to be.
Blessed Be

Congratulations Cesar,

We are very proud of you. Of course, we know you accomplish everything you set out to do by using that calm, submission behavior! The best to you and your family.

LOL. Isn't that calm, DOMINATE behavior!!!

Congratulations Cesar, you have a wonderful program, have learned lots from watching it faithfully, I too became a Citizen of Canada in May 2006 and I am so proud. Keep up the good work, you are the greatest...

How wonderful for a family like yours joining our family. Congradulations, and many happy years to come. If you're ever in Virginia, please come have dinner with us, and help us with our two crazy dogs, Grizzly.....7 pound yorkipom(alpha male pain) , and Maizey....our 100 pound yellow lab. Help Viv

Congratulations, Mr. Millan. You are one of a kind and the U.S. is blessed to have you.

Ceasar,
I have been watching your program for a long time now. I also have an American Staffordshire Terrier named Lazzarith but we call him Lazzy or Pup-edo. He is almost nine and is extremely well behaved. I have always wanted to say Thank You for the POSITIVE attention your show created towards the breed. My dog has a large family and they are all well behaved and great. You know you are really loved when you are loved by a Pit Bull!!! Lick Lick Lick Licky Lick ha ha I want to say most of all CONGRATULATIONS on becoming an American Citizen. Being born here alot of us take this great country for granted and never think about the restrictions that are put on other people in other countries. I am so glad that your dreams have come true here Ceasar! You are a greatly appreciated person who has opened up a whole new world of canine communication to people everywhere not only in the U.S. but world wide. Congratulations on ALL of your success it is much deserved! ~ #1 Fans, Rachel & Lazzy

Cesar, Welcome to the best new citizen a country could have.!!
We are blessed to have you here. What you do and how you are teaching not just dog owners but the rest of us 2 legged animals to live is better than any psychiatrist could do.

Congratulations and thanks for all the training you give us weekly. Americans may love dogs more than any other country, but we excel at making unbalanced spoiled children of them, just like with our two legged kids. Thanks for the reality check. May God bless your family and all you do.

WAY TO GO CESAR------------I'M PROUD OF YOU !
can you help me to get my greyhound to stop eating her stool?
an email would be fine. thanks----------AMERICA is very of you.

you are the best --- we are the ones that are blessed!!!!
vicki

Cesar! Congratulations! From a fellow legal resident. (My country does not allow dual citizenship (Denmark) so I have not yet become a full citizen)
We are so blessed that you are here.
I would like to personally thank you for all that you do, AND
my heart would like to urge you to create a school for those of us who are dying to follow in your footsteps.
I have every book and DVD you put out, and have transformed my way of being around dogs. I am also helping those that want help, but would like to have formal training by you.
Thus we can help change the world one more dog at a time.
Thank you again. Hail Cesar!
Anita

Congratulations Caesar! We are honored to have you as a US citizen. I have watched your show from the very first episode and don’t even own a dog yet. It has been over 20 years since my last dog and with your helpful, knowledgeable show I know that when we do get a dog, we will be using the exercise, discipline and affection techniques that you show.

On the other hand, you may want to change your name as I have recently used your techniques on one of our cats! My husband said it could not be done and I decided otherwise. One cat had the habit of obsessing over our aquatic frog. She would not leave the tank alone, clawing and scratching at it constantly. Granted the cat is an Abyssinian and is very intelligent which made it easier. Decided to give her a poke with a shhh sound and so far, the results are amazing. Within 24 hours her obsession declined dramatically and within 48 hours I only had to use the shhh sound and she would jump down. Still a work in progress but you should add Cat Whisperer to your title!

Yeah Cesar! Congrats & Thank you for sharing with us! You are an inspiration!

Thank you for becoming a U.S. citizen and welcome! You are an angel sent to us to help us all become calm & assertive!!!! You are an amazing human psychologist as well as dog psychologist!

So nice to hear that you are now a US Citizen. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated and caring citizen added to our country! You are awesome!

There are significative events that occur in each of our lives which are embedded forever in our memories. March 12, 2009 will certainly be a time in your life that you will look back upon with great pride and joy. Congratulations on your achievement. It is an honor to welcome you officially as a U.S. citizen. Also, let me take this opportunity to say thank you, to you and your family, for helping so many of us to better understand and relate to our pets and each other. Mr. Milan, you truly are bless with a gift. Please remain true to yourself and may the good Lord continue to bless you and your work .

Janie

Congratulations Caesar! Thank you for all the effort you put forth helping and educating others. The knowledge I've gained from your show has done two things for me. Firstly, it has inspired me to look into ways I can help dogs and perhaps their owners. Second, on one occasion, I was asked to go to someone's home while they were out and take care of something in their back yard. When I arrived, the homeowner's huge dominant dog came running around the corner. From what I learned simply from watching your show, I understood his actions and was able to deal with him without any problems and go about the appointed task. (My friend ran back to the car and sat inside lol) Again, thank you and congratulations!!!

Justin

Congratulations. America has welcomed a valued, contributing citizen. Your shows and your family values are a wonderful inspiration for us less gifted humans. Thank you.

GrannieEv

Wow, Ceaser! That's wonderful. You are already such an "American" icon that it's amazing to think that you weren't already a citizen. Congratulations! What a wonderful addition. :)

Stormy

Congratulations Cesar!! Welcome to our American family. You have taught me soooo much, and helped me get through recuperating from a hip replacement (hey, I'm only 49 ...)!! By the way, I am definitely not the pack leader at home. My better-half is! Oh, well, at least we ALL do what we're told! Big hugs to you and your family!!!

Hello Cesar,
Congratulations. Welcome to your full fledged status in the US. You are my favorite show since you began. You are also a favorite reference for my students to watch in the Master of Science in Organization Development degree program at American University in Washington, DC. Your demonstartion of Entry, contracting, data gathering, diagnosis, feedback, intervention and closure help them see the benefit of process and use of self energy. I wish I could say more. You are definitely a social change agent, from a unique perspective in these needed days of change. My Akita, Kaji helped me learn a lot of what you teach and it helped with me being a better father to my son and daughter. God bless you in your contribution to our world. I learn something new with every show.
Blackeagle

Congratulations Cesar! Although I live in England, I still get to experience the joy of watching all of your brilliant Dog Whisperer programs!
It's brilliant to hear that you are now a full part in the American community! Once again, congratulations!

Cesar, that is wonderful. You are an inspiration to many and may others follow in your footsteps. Congratulations!

Cesar: we are so happy that you are now a citizen of the USA
and are grateful for the help you are giving to 'man's best friend'
as well as all the humans who are not balanced. Keep up the good work, we love you.
Marybeth
Shelton, CT

Congratulations. love your show and Pat PArelli's as well.

Congradulations, on many levels.
One of the most special is how you consistently set about to make mistakes right that were wrong!

From the first moments of entering this country illegally, you are one who was willing to say I was wrong, I broke the law and work to set it right through all these years. So many take the easy way out,~ from euthanizing dogs with no hope, to humans (marrying Ilusion when you could have given up like to many do) to understanding that we are a nation of laws whether one agrees or not and work to adhear to them.

I say thank you thank you , for the many ways your choices AND actions inspire us to face our own mistakes, our demons, our past, to not lose sight of our visions and dreams as we become more then we believed we could be.

Congratulations Cesar, you're getting closer to Canada! Someday, I hope that you will come in the East, espacially in Quebec province. You've learn the langage of the dog, than you're certainly able to learn French!

Thanks for everything, for the dogs of course, but also and mainly for the way you teach people about what you've learn yourself. I teach myself to people with horses, and you inspire me to help them to become a good leader, calm and assertive.

Thanks again and congratulations.

I am so happy for you, and for us. You were already a welcome in the U.S., and now it is official. And no going back, mind you. We need and love you way too much now and we couldn't live calmly or assertively without you and your beautiful family.

Cesar, Congradulations my man, Like I always say "what goes around, comes around!" and what you have given to the american people is more than what can be counted !!!!!!! You are and have been more than a true great American. I love your show, and watch it everytime it is on, even if I have seen it 3 or more times..best wishes amigo. Gary and family

Cesar, GOOD FOR YOU! I have never understood the mentality that so many people have, It never ceased to amaze me that so many people have the opinion that if you want a well trained dog, you have to beat the fear of god into them every time they do something wrong because if they are afraid of you it means that they respect you? Nothing breaks my heart more than to see a dog that is always hiding, cowering 100% of the time and afraid of everything. On the flip side nothing makes me happier than to see my three dogs, that all obey every command that they are given, without a second thought, even though they have never been hit. They carry themselves with total confidence and they trust us 100%, to me that is the more logical end result to aim for when train a dog.
You Cesar, are my hero, it is so refreshing to see that someone like you, who spends their life proving to people, with immediate results, the humane and proper way to train your dog. You have probably saved thousands of dogs from being beaten by owners who think that that is what you are supposed to do just due to ignorance but you reach so many with your show and have probably changed that mentality from thousands of owners.
The beauty of your weekly show with so many different situations that cover most training issues, you show people over and over again, the proper methods, eventually I am sure a great many people have also adopted.
You have done probably a lot more for America, dogs and the average American family with a dog, than you could even begin to realize.
America and dogs everywhere, are more than lucky to have you.
Thank-you for your special gift, that, you have given to dogs everywhere and all that you do to help such a truly amazing animal, that gives more back that they are given, especially if they are just treated right.
Please keep getting the message out there so many people still need to learn about your show.
I wish you all the happiness back, that you have provided for so many dogs.

CONGRATULATIONS! and Welcome! I love your book, your show and your amazing understanding that you share to make our lives with our best friends so much more rewarding! Thank you, Sharon Appier

Cesar, you have inspired me in so many ways. I find that I have adopted some of your sayings. As an example, when I am suddenly challenged by one of my four-legged family members, I say to myself, "This is good, we want this." My mental outlook is better as a result as I understand opportunity more clearly now.

I'm very challenged by one of our dogs, Duffer, but find it easier to love him with my improved attitude. At the same time, I find it easier to maintain discipline because I don't misunderstand affection as I did before. Your lessons are life lessons. I appreciate you so very much.

I am a fully-employed middle-aged woman who is also an animal advocate in my free time. Some animal advocates disagree with your approach and methods. That's okay. Different viewpoints make it possible for society to advance. To my mind, you have popularized the concept of individuals learning how to train their dogs. I celebrate your every success.

Now you are an American citizen. I am full of happiness for you and your family. Being born American, I can't fully comprehend your feelings of course, but I can imagine a little bit that your feelings were full that day. Congratulations!!!

Just recommended my family watch your program to help with their new cairn terrior, because you are so cool!!! and delightful!! and a new citizen!!! So proud to have you as one of us. Stars and stripes to you. Linda York, PA USA

Dear Cesar,
I am so very happy for you. You are and have been an inspiration to me. What you teach about dogs - is really not about dogs but is about the truly spiritual and about energy and how thoughts create.
I absolutely love your show. I did not even have a dog when I first started watching. I have not had a dog since I was a child - then I had a toy poodle. Training? I don't remember training. Our dog played with us, slept with us and stood at the door when he wanted to go out.
I have adopted a very wonderful little dog from the pound for the first time since I was a kid. ( I have really been a cat person since the 1970's) I love my little dog ( she is possible a coton de tulear. She is without guile. I believe she is healing me. Sometimes I think I have been too stern with her and I think "Oh God, what would Cesar say to me now to help me get through to her". Then I reprimand her - an of course I feel guilty sometimes that I have been too stern with her because she is small and maybe 7- months to a year. She knows what I am saying but she has a stubborn streak sometimes. This dog could be trained to do very cool things if I were a better trainer.

I saw a show last night that helped me. It was a woman with a small cranky dog who was cranky because the lady was not being herself with the dog and just waiting for the dog to respond.
The point is: You inspire me. My little rescue is rescuing me back. I had a calling within me to look for her. I said to myself -its ok if you don't get a dog or find what your looking for. But when you find it - you'll know. I saw her. I had to wait for her because she was not available for adoption yet. i could not hold her because the pound would not let me. The morning she became available I was there several hours before it opened. 11 people showed up that wanted her. We put our names into a jar. I had thought about this dog, seen myself getting onto the plane with her, seeing her at the theatre with me, in my house. I saw her everywhere.
They pulled my name out. I believe they picked my name because - I created it. My thoughts created it.
I wish I could do that in other areas of my life. That is what the dog and I are working on.
Best Wishes and Congrats, My favorite American
Debra

I love your show. I am so glad things worked out so well for you.
Debra

Congratulations Caesar. You have helped me with my dog. She is a 81 pound border collie who used to pull me everywhere when I had her on a leash. Thanks to your program and teachings, I now lead her instead of her leading me. Best wishes and keep up the good work. Pat

Congratulation Cesar
I’m not American and I don’t live and US, I’m from Europe and I really like your program
When I get a dog I will be ready to be the pack leader.
I hope u keep doing your show for many years.
All the best.

Hail, Cesar!

You are an incredible person and a gift to the world. We're so proud that you've joined us as a citizen of this great country! My mother considered the day she became a citizen as one of the proudest of her life, so I know how you must feel.

What you do for our canine companions is above and beyond words. When I watch your show and see the difference you make in the lives of dogs who are hurting, I feel wonderful. I know that there is one good man out there making a real difference...YOU!

You have made a difference in the lives of many people, too. I'm a breast cancer survivor and I've heard from others like me who say your show has shown them how to live their human lives more fully! - Relax. Be calm and assertive. Live in the NOW. You're transferring negative and positive energy, so keep it positive. - We're out here, and we're listening!

You are touching more people than you know, Cesar! Thank you for ALL you do!

Hi Cesar, you are an inspiration to many people all over the world for the work you are doing both with our 4 legged friends and the 2 legged ones!!..congratulations on becoming an american citizen..I retired from my business 6 yeras ago and after my wife passed away, I started spending more time with my dogs and then I realized what I have done to them over the years by working many hours and not spending time with them and they not having exercise, discipline, and affection..my female had become very dog aggressive and I was not even aware of this..it took an unfortunate event of my dog attacking another dog to bring me into reality..I have since become a "dog trainer" dealing with mostly "red zone" aggression issues and with your guidance and enthusiasm have been able to rehabilitate many aggressive dogs for their owners and family..I still to this day watch your shows to pick up ideas for the dogs I work with and it is very refreshing to be able to help families and their dogs to be well balanced..you are in a noble profession and you have inspired me to continue on helping us humans understand the relationship between dog and people.."Bring Back Your Best Friend"..Congrats Cesar...

Cesar congratulations. This is so awesome. Love your program and love what you do for the dogs in our world.

CONGRATULATIONS to a very special person! you became a citizen on my Birthday...Cesar your accomplishments and your true spirit of giving, your love for your family and animals has been an inspiration. I have followed you from day one on NGC show...I also became an American citizen many years ago, we will always have our homeland in our hearts, we are what we are. I have been blessed in this country, it is the best. I am an accomplished equine/animal artist, and my biggest success was being the girl on the Sunmaid Raisin box from 1970 till now...so all things are possible in this amazing country.

¡Enhorabuena! Ahora usted es un americano VERDADERO.[ I'm not Latino, but I'm learning a little bit at a time.] Way to go, guy! And this is just the beginning...there are more successes to come!

I think its awesome that you took that step, love your show and wish you the best God Bless You and your family.

Cesar, Congratulations on becoming a U.S. citizen!!! We are loyal fans of your show-Thank You from all of us, two legged and 4 legged fans in Nova Scotia, Canada. Blessing for continued success!!

Congratulations, Cesar!!! No one deserves it more than you! I have been a fan of yours for quite a while and you have helped me and my pack more than you'll ever know. Thanks for all you do!!

Congrats, Cesar! I've watched you since I first heart about your show. The way you work with dogs has helped my family be calm and assertive with our pack of 5 dogs. Two of which are Great Danes. Their sheer size can be an issue if they truly wanted to act out. But using your methods helps us to maintain a healthy environment for our beloved canines. Thank you so much for all that you do. Congrats again :) You deserve this!

Congratulations, Cesar! Your family and your work are inspirations. It's wonderful to learn from you - I'm now a calm, assertive cat-owner! This is truly the way to live one's life. You and your family are not only what makes this country great, you all make the world a better place to live. You have lots of faithful fans in New York City. Thank you so much and a huge round of applause to Ilusion, Andre, Calvin and the entire wonderful crew of the show!

Congratualtions Cesar! Welcome as a US Citizen. WE love you and you are doing a great service as the Dog Whisperer. God Bless You and Your Family.........A fan forever!!!

So Proud, I have been studying you for years and you are the best person I can think to have as an American citizen. I have practiced all your techniques on my unrully pitcru (5) in all and they have all responded extremely well. I intend to start helping others in my community of Rockford, Il. to help with their red zone cases. I am a female but very strong and all the right ways. If you have any advise please let me know and I would love to visit your center.

Hi Cesar,

Congratulations on your new status as a citizen of the US. I am a Canadian, and a great fan of yours. I know several other Canadians who watch your show also. You have an amazing gift, and you come across as being genuine. I love all animals, from elephants to mice, but I have a soft spot for cats, and dogs. I could go on, and on, and write a novel, but I am sure that you are much too busy with your work to read every word.

Your family is lucky to have such a person as you in their life, but the luckiest ones are all the dogs you give love, and discipline to.

Please keep up the excellent work.

Nancy - Montreal, Canada

This is a very nice surprise! Congrats, Caesar!! You have made this country so much more pleasant with all your work, now it is great to have you as part of us!! You have made my life somewhat easier dealing with my 4 dogs, and we are all proud of you, as are your wife and children were! Can't get enough of your shows, wish you were on every day! My only wish is that I could have the calm assertiveness with my chihuahua/terrier (Slugger) that you preach, but I'm working on that. He's 7 yrs old, and has 2 bad knees, had surgery on each a few years a part, but neither surgery worked. Since his last surgery, he turned pretty mean, especially towards me, but we're working on it. But I still can't pick him up, and now he's due to go to the vet, but don't think I can get him there! I'm afraid that the only time he'll be able to go again will be his last time. So keep up with the shows, and eventually Slugger and I might figure this out (hopefully before he gets into too much pain)!

Dear Cesar,
I am so pleased that you have joined our
American pack.
Congratulations!
Warmest Regards

Great job Cesar!!!

Congratulations to you for achieving your lifelong dream. I only just found out about your program about 2 months ago when I was visiting my sister every day while she was in the hospital for a month; AND now I am a fan! You have saved so many dogs and families too. We are very lucky to have you as an official United States citizen. Thank you for ALL that you do.

Dear Cesar,
I have 2 dogs that r very good with socializing with kids and people but they will attack a dog whenever they see one and start barking out of control. What should I do to get them under control?

Congratulations, Cesar! I know you have been here for many years, but it is good to have you as a citizen now. I hope you keep up your wonderful work for years to come.

All the best to you and your family, Cesar! It is always a joy to watch you and listen to your wisdom. What a blessing in our midst. Thank you for being the master that you are and sharing your great understanding of human and animal natures. Congratulations on your decision to become a U.S. Citizen. Yay for the US!

You are the epitome of a U.S. Citizen Cesar! Thank you for all that you're doing for the canine community. You are an inspiration for all of us...Thank you again!! Also, Please, please, please, do more shows with Pat Parelli. The two of you are fantastic together. WE WANT MORE!!!

Cesar, My husband & I are really proud of you becoming a citizen! We watch your show and feel like you're a friend of our family, even when we've never met. Thanks so much for your work and inspiration to all. Our 9 month old mini-dachshunds thank you too! Everything I've taught them since getting them at 10 wks. has been from watching your show and reading on your webpage. Congrats to your beautiful family as well!

Hello Cesar, I am also latin and I just love it when we as a people become successful. There are many of us here in the US working hard and also trying to be great at what we do. BUEN HECHO!!!
You are a great example. Be careful with the success and stay well and always remember those who helped you on the way up.
Que Dios te bendiga y su familia!!!!! Alicia in Marietta, GA!!!!

I'm an avid dog lover.I try to use ceaser's teachings with some great results.I have a question ---why do'nt dogtown show on same channel use same techniques as you? You're on the same channel, your tech. work, but yet they do'nt employ them.I'm just a plain ole'boy from bama,a grease monkey, and even I see the difference in ya''lls instructions.I think the dogtown people should ask you to help them out.I can't see you turning down a sister show. This is just my observation,I may be wrong, but I think you are a dog's best freind. Thanks for letting me voice my thoughts.Lee

Congradulations and welcome! (from me) Bark and Woof! (from Daisy and Mookee)

YAY!! You did it right! Congrats! We're thankful to you & your family for providing such a wonderful service for all dogs & the people who love them! You are one of a kind! (Kudos to Daddy, too! He's got the best Pack Leader!)
