Raging Rocky

NAME: Rocky
BREED: Miniature Pinscher
AGE: 2 years

ABOUT THE DOG:
Rocky spent the first year of his life in a Mississippi dog pound. He was aggressive towards humans and had an unusual characteristic -- a fifth leg! Unsocialized, Rocky spent most of his day in his cage with very little human contact. And though Rocky found acceptance and love in the Ray Family, he still has monstrous outbursts toward people.

ABOUT THE OWNER:
Todd and Danielle Ray, along with their children, run the Venice Beach Freak Show in Venice, California. Danielle guides visitors through their collection and Todd plays ringmaster.

BEHIND THE SCENES:
The Ray Family's Venice Beach Freak Show boasts a menagerie of animals including 10 two-headed turtles (5 of which have six legs), a two-headed snake, a cat with six paws, a pet squirrel, frogs, a ten-foot boa, an albino gopher, a hairless rat, and a snake-neck turtle. They also have an Axolotl walking fish that has working legs that if dismembered can grow back. They also had a two-headed goat which recently passed away.

Misbehaving Bella

dw-5-ep-516-doggie-dossier-bella.jpg

NAME: Bella
BREED: Boston Terrier
AGE: 2 years

ABOUT THE DOGS:
Bella came from a local breeder. His owners wanted a small-to-medium sized dog that would be good with a family. In December, 2006, they brought Bella into the house while their son Ryan was asleep. The next morning, he woke up to find Bella and was ecstatic.

Times have changed. As soon as Ryan wakes up in the morning, he is tormented by Bella. Wherever he is, Bella is waiting. She'll bite at his feet or if he's on the couch with a blanket, she pulls his blanket off. It's gotten to the point that Ryan will get up on the table to avoid her.

ABOUT THE OWNERS:
Kris and Lisa are both novice dog owners. However, about three and a half years ago, Lisa and their son Ryan, then 5, began campaigning to get a puppy. Kris resisted their pleas at first, but it wasn't long before his wife and son wore him down.

BEHIND THE SCENES:
Bella is a thief and will take and chew anything she can get her teeth on. For example: remotes, shoes, baseball gloves, balls, homework, school art projects, sofa cushions, TV antennas, and Christmas trees. That's right! Last Christmas, Bella pulled down the family's 7-foot Christmas tree while they were out!

Pugnacious Pugs

NAME: Madison and Catalina
BREED: Pugs
AGE: 6 years

ABOUT THE DOGS:
Owners Andy and Danielle Anderson got Madison and Catalina from a breeder. Catalina is six weeks older than her half-sister Madison, who has a serious case of sibling rivalry! And once they start squabbling, it is difficult to get them to stop.

ABOUT THE OWNERS:
Danielle has been a dog person her entire life. Just 28, she estimates that she's had about 30 dogs. Andrew grew up with dogs as well. Madison and Catalina are the couple's first dogs together. And though Andrew wasn't quite sure if he was ready for pets, he let Danielle talk him into it.

BEHIND THE SCENES:
This was the first shoot after the production staff returned from the holiday break and some members of the crew were not used to the agricultural smells of rural Corona, California.

Baby Girl

dw-5-ep-515-doggie-dossier-baby-girl.jpg

NAME: Baby Girl
BREED: Doberman/Greyhound Mix
AGE: 8 Years

ABOUT THE DOG:
Baby Girl was rescued from a shelter and her name comes from her owner's close friend. It seems Baby Girl's name is quite fitting, because she panics when things aren't quite right. She is fearful of linoleum floors, open cupboards, loud noises, and even eating!

ABOUT THE OWNER:
Suzie Dove Miles is an avid animal lover and widely regarded as a "Cat Whisperer" for her extensive work in rehabilitating and fostering feral and problematic cats. By employing similar methods as Cesar, Suzie has made huge differences in the lives of hundreds of cats.

BEHIND THE SCENES:
The trailer that is used to help rehabilitate Baby Girl is the same trailer that was used in the episode featuring ATF canine Gavin. Plus, the DW staff took part in the production of Cesar's "virtual reality" DVD, as they were filmed popping balloons and crinkling paper around the office.
