Run Roscoe, Run!

NAME: Roscoe
BREED: Akita
AGE: 2 ½ years
ABOUT THE DOG:
Jorge Huerta found Akita, Roscoe in a newspaper ad and made an appointment to see him. The owner told Jorge that he had taken Roscoe away from his first owner because he suspected that the dog was being abused. From the beginning, Roscoe refused to go outside the family's property. Two years later, Roscoe remains fearful of unfamiliar environments. Because of this, he has never gone for a walk.
ABOUT THE OWNER:
Jorge Huerta lives with his parents, two brothers, sister, and twelve year-old nephew. The family lived in apartments for most of Jorge's life, so they could never own a dog. Once they bought a house, Jorge rushed out to adopt one, even though he did not grow up with dogs,.
BEHIND THE SCENES:
Dog Whisperer participants are required to get permission from their veterinarians in order to participate in the show. But the Dog Whisperer staff had to make an exception for Roscoe because the Huerta family couldn't get Roscoe out of the yard and into the car for his vet visit.

GREAT new episode. Felt so sorry for poor Roscoe, he was in really bad shape mentally. The wheelbarrow technique had me rolling in the aisles, Caesar is a genius. New DPC looks great too, Roscoe looked really relaxed there and it was great to see him try to jump into the back of the truck. Kudos!
The wheelbarrow technique was cool, but Cesar should not take direct credit for inventing it, only copying it. The real inventor was the other dog in that episode. If you watch the footage, when the other dog was trying to help Cesar, he was getting behind Roscoe and scooping his rear end up into the air to get him moving. It was very odd to me. Although from Cesars position at the other end of the dog, it probably looked like pushing rather than scooping and lifting. The only difference is that Cesar could hold on !!
