T think the Vick case should have been longer because he had a choice and he chose wrong.
My husband has watched all 100 episodes I am sure of it. We have a Cane Corso who has a case of fear based aggression. We have tried 2 private trainers and also group training. Our dog who's name is DOG, is very obidient. He follows all commands, sit stay down out leave it...and so on. However since we have been married and lived in our home with DOG no one will come to visit. DOG is afraid of people and has bit some. When someone does happen to be near him he lowers his head and growls. I don't know what to do anymore. We need help. My husband and I love him and just want to be able to socialize wih other people and have DOG be okay. Any suggestions?
Watching the show does give us hope that he could be better one day. So thank you for all 100 episodes and I cannot wait for the nex 100.
-Janine F.
Hey Cease and the Dog Whisperer team, congratulations on your 100th episode! From one Mexican to another, "Si Se Pudo!". I'm always rooting for you and always make sure to pass the word about "El Perrero" in a calm-assertive way. Thanks for the knowledge you gave me about what my dogs already knew. You just put the words behind their actions. Thank you and hope you have a 100 more to celebrate!
Much love from Mayra's pack.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEE the DOG WISPER HE IS MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!! Love How you help the worlds animals
I dont even know if you read your own blogs but you have really changed my look on dogs!!!! I am only 14 and I have Watched all 100 episodes, Iam 100% sure! You have know idea I have a hug Doberman and when I am At the beach people always say how nicely my dog respects me. They ask me how i do it, I give you 100% of the credit. You have changed my life. I have helped somany people with their dog problems, I cant say they all worked out because the owners have to do their part and that is hard for them to do. They think they are hurting their dogs when they correct them. But they really hurt them when they dont.I never miss an episod you rock. And i hope this 100 episode wont be the last. That would be disapointing! Looking Foward To Seeing Your 100th episode!!!
How can I get my 11 year old 135 pound Rotwieler/Dalmatian to stop dragging his butt on my carpet??
Earl
Dear Cesar,
I have three blood-thirsty boxers. They look cute, except for the part where they maul me and put big slobbery pools of drool all over me. Any recommendations? What would you do? Send help fast, they are running out of my blood type at the local hospital!
Love,
Kate
This is probably a stupid question, but it is the same question I have asked since I was a little kid and still can't figure it out: Why do dogs sniff each others' butts? It's not like I go around smell anyone else's butt upon meeting them. How am I supposed to explain this type of behavior to a child? I need a scientific and logical answer.
Abe
Will you ask Cesar how to get a puppy to come when called, when they are in an open area with other dogs distracting them?
Seth from Maryland
How can I get my dog Bailey to not freak out when other dogs walk by our fence? Or why she mis-behaves when I get home from long trips?
Having a French Mastiff she is incredibly head-strong. I have a difficult time walking her. I’ve corrected her continuously and she continues to pull – non-stop. It doesn’t matter how much I correct her – she immediately goes back to pulling. She makes it unbearable to walk her. I have a choke collar that I move to the top of her neck – still she continues to pull.
I also have a bull dog that licks her paws continuously – I spray them with the different products to no avail – any thoughts?

Cesar, I watch every episode over and over again. When I started to use your techniques on my dog I saw a big improvement. Now I can say my dog is the best dog in the neighborhood. People always ask me how I do I get my dog to listen. I just tell them that I watch your shows. Well, now I have been called the dog whisperer of the neighborhood. We love you Cesar. I just wish there were more people like you. Any future plans to open a Dog Physcology center in the Eastern states?
Cesar,
We have all your shows recorded, so I haven't missed any. We have a 7 month old Cocker Spaniel who has been trained by your techniques. I am proud that she can sit, stay, come, shake, play dead and speak. We have been due dilligent with your techniques. On her own she will sit at an intersection on her mile to two mile walks every day.
Dear Caesar,
So many people I run into watch and love your show. We even speak like you do. Thank Daddy and Junior for being such good ambassadors for Pit Bulls. Those of us who love that breed especially love you and what you have done for them. It's time people hear the real thing.
A Loyal Fan,
Deanna
Congratulations on your 100th show.
I wish you could give me some ideas to help my little Zoe, a Bichon who spent many years as a mommy in a puppy mill. She is so sweet, never aggressive, but really shy and fearful of people. I would just like to be able to pet her without making her afraid.
Keep up the inspiring and much needed work.
Thank you
Ceasar, you have such an amazingly beautiful soul. I saw that the first time I watched your show, we know that we are here in this life to spread love. You do this in such a palatable way. I have been with you thru every show and many of them 3 or 4 times. When I feel kind of down I will watch your show on tivo and your energy makes me brighten up. Sharing your family with us makes me feel like a part of the family, your wife and boys make a beautiful picture.
I would have loved for you to work with my German shepherd, Smokey, I kept trying your techniques but he was already full grown and had no training when I got him. He is over 100 lbs and i couldn't have him pulling me and knocking me around. kudos to that older woman who had that big shepherd was he named Major Jones. She was something else handling that big boy. So now Smokey has a wonderful home with a new lady that loves him as much as I did, and still do.
I have two little ladies, Maggie, 3 yrs. peka-huahua, she has mostly that chihuahua personality and is quite a handful, and Punkin who is 13 yrs. is a pekapoo, she is an angel on earth. The little mixed breed dogs are so precious and make such good friends for me.
Thanks for spreading the truth and love and I hope to see many more new lessons from my main man.
Cesar,
Felicitaciones por el 100 º episodio. Mayo los próximos 100 demuestra ser tan maravilloso, educativa y entretenida como la primera 100.
Gran trabajo.
Cesar,
Congratulations on the 100th episode. May the next 100 shows be as wonderful, educational and entertaining as the first 100.
Great job.
I have a 4 yr old bullmastiff and she has come a long way. She still wants to chase cats and run toward other dogs and I don't trust her because sometimes she attacks the other dog. I don't know how to stop her from doing so. PLEASE HELP!
Cesar - First, you are an amazing person and I have learned a lot from you. My dog thanks you too. Anyway, my question...You seem to be very aware of "energy" related to humans, dogs and all animals. Do you perceive "energy" from, as John Edward would say, "the other side"? I see you two as very similar yet different. All the best and congratulations. Thanks for all you do. I'm a huge fan. Deb
I recently relocated to Chicago with two Cairn Terriers. My dogs used to have a yard, now we are apartment dwellers. They have become model city dogs, with the exception of barking at all other dogs. The pups get 4 1-mile long walks each day, to lovely North Grant Park. They insist on barking like crazy at other dogs, mounted police and squirrels. Help!
How do I get my dog to stop barking when I leave the house? We had kind of gotten it under control but then had a baby recently and he loves the baby so much he feels he needs to watch over the baby and gets very upset when we leave with him and barks non-stop while we are gone.
Also, when we are at home sometimes sounds frustrate our dog and he wakes the baby because he barks at them.
It is so frustrating and hard to correct now that the baby is here because I don't want to scare or wake the baby when reprimanding the dog.
Thanks for all your help...
Donelle
I have a 6 1/2 year female Chow Chow we just got a 8 week old female chow chow puppy. How do we get them use to each other so far they have not been together except on a lead when they are walked. We got this puppy because we lost our 17 year old Chow Chow and she was the love of my life.I won't Brandi to have a friend in the right way.
Cesar:
When are you coming to Northern California? We need your super powers out this way....
HELP!!
Cesar, CONGRATULATIONS!! With the success of your show and the people you help and with the success it has brought you in your life.
The Caceres Pack
I have a question for Ceasar...we have a female basset mix, two other dogs, and muliple cats. Our basset has a fear of thunder. She starts whining when storms approach, and she gets very nervous and paces around. Neither of the other two dogs do this, and we've tried to ignore her during these episodes, but that doesn't work. I'm afraid that giving her affection will reward her for being afraid. It doesn't bother me or my husband, but I'm worried about her anxiousness during thunderstorms, especially when we're not there to help her. Any ideas?
hey cesar.
are you gonna come in the area of quebec, canada???
When are you coming to Canada to help?
Cesar,
With wonderful people like you in this world, who care for people and animals alike, life is worth living.
Cesar,
Congratulations on your 100th episode. Lets hope there are many more hundreds to come!!! I really enjoy watching how you connect with each family and each dog. It is truly amazing what you do!!! My question is this: We have 3 wonderful dogs, each with such a different energy and personality... Individually, I am able to work on our biggest issue with them, which is barking at everything!!! But I havent been able to master this as a group. Please help me so that I can teach them together to not bark at anything and everything!!!
Thanks, and keep the shows coming!!!

I have 2 3 yr. old male yorkies...Frank & Louie...Louie is the smaller of the 2 and he is what I call spiteful ..When we leave them during the day Louie urinates where he pleases....Can you help?
I think my chocolate lab is OCD. He will bring be the ball, stick, ANYTHING for me to throw. Over & Over. If I dont throw, she'll move on to someone else. Its very annoying. She'll wait and if I dont throw it she'll come and nudge it closer. This will go on for an hour. Any suggestions?
How can I get my blue pit to walk on a floor that is not covered in rugs. He's terrified. What can I do. He slides all over the place and panics. What's up with that? He's been doing this for a while now. He just turned 8 mos. Thanks.
To Abe and Earl from Michigan.
A dog has what is called "annal sacs" in his rear. They contain his scent which is like his own peronsal identity. This is how dogs greet each other, they sniff the other's butt and find out "who" the dog is. No other dog has that scent. When a dog is dragging his butt on the carpet its a sign that either the annal sacs that are full and the dog could not express them (they get filled up with a feces substance and are normally expressed when they go to the bathroom) or they could have worms...Have your dog checked by your vet ASAP. Both are very uncomfortable. My little dog I rescued has a difficult time expressing his annal sacs and a dog chiropractor taught me pressure points and massaging to use to help him. Its working..
How do I get my German Shepherd to stop howling every time a siren goes by? Our neighbors have complained so we keep her in the house but she still howls. Help!
Cesar,
I was wondering if you ever help local rescue groups with catching a dog that seems to be un-catchable. He has a home with me if we could just catch him, but he's been living at my interstate exit (obviously dumped in Jan. 2007) for almost two years and has yet to let me touch him, even though I feed him every day.
We have rescued three litters of his puppies and finally rescued his "wife," but he and one dog from the first litter are still at the exit. We've tried a live trap, sedation meds, and just talking and treats; nothing works. We would love to have you come show us how it's done and meet the other dogs of Save A Pet, Inc. in Forsyth, GA.
Rosie, proud "mom" of 14 dogs (plus six puppies at the moment!)
congratulation, Cesar!! When do you write a book about how to raise properly puppies in order to make balanced and happy dogs (and owners) .. Segolene (hurry i am waiting to get a dog !)
Congratulations Cesar!! for all the fantastic work that you do every day, that help people and dogs alike to understand each other better and have a balance and peaceful relationship.
Look forward for the next 100!!
Cheers!!
We have a 5 month old min pin/dachsund mix, Kasey. She is chewing everything. Will this end or does it need attention now? We know she is teething, but she chews everything......help....
Dear Cesar- Congratulations on your achievements-
can you tell your fans if you ever had to deal with a dog that is jealous of new children in a household? ( adopted 2 toddlers) I'd be grateful to view that one
Sincerely,
Mary Yates
Congratulations on 100! My question is this. We have two dogs that your advise has helped us tremendously with (thank you). However, one problem persists. When they are outside together, it's fine. Inside, they start to eye each other, and even after plenty of exercise AND discipline, they still will go after each other seriously, unless I'm constantly watching them. I'm at a loss. They are larger dogs and I can't stop them once they start fighting.
First, congratulations to Cesar, not only have you made it clear how important being the "pack leader" is to us humans, but you have shown through example, how someone who crossed our borders with so little, was able to succeed in this great country.
My question to Cesar: If you were approached by two pit bulls or similar dogs who were intent on attacking you and you had no place to escape, what would you do? I love Daddy, so I'm only using those dogs as an example since they are so often in the news for attacking people.
Cesar -
We have an eight month old basset hound puppy. She's pretty good at going to the door when she has to go out but sometimes she'll realize too late and go pee by the door before we can get there. Any suggestions? Thank you! Love the show!

I have 10 dogs, most of them are small poodles, terrier, westie and a polish lowland, they started barking about 3 months ago for no reason, nothing in there household had changed, what can I do?
HELP! We have two hyper active dogs. A 2 yr. old male Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff)that weighs approx. 130 lbs. and a 3 yr. old female pitbull that weighs approx. 50 lbs. They are both very friendly, playful and all around wonderful dogs...but...we are expecting our first baby on New Years Eve! How can my husband and I get them to behave around the baby when they can't even behave by themselves? I am very concerned and worried about their "CRAZY" behavior around our baby...any advise would be wonderful!
Dear Cesar,
My boyfriend and I have 5 dogs. Banjo, a Border Collie mix, Winston a Yelllow Lab, Wyatt a Yellow Lab, Annie a Blue Heeler/Rottweiler mix, and Rudy a Black Lab mix. Luckily they all get a long with the exception that Rudy bugs Annie and Annie growls at him but other than that we have no major problems.
The one thing I would like to do is to be able to walk them all like a well behaved pack. At this point and time, they go on three different walks. Annie and Wnston, Rudy alone and Wyatt and Banjo. They also seem to be more aggressive on leash than when they are playing in the open. I have tried the TSSSt sound as well as the foot nudge, but I only sound like I sprung a leak. Any suggestions on how to have a well-behaved pack of five.

Hi Cesar, I was wondering is it possible for you to come to the UK Wales ?
I needs help with my mums dog she keeps jumping up at people she won't lie down she jumps on the furnuture she runs around really crazy. It would be so great if you could help. I have seen your show on tele Dog Whisperer and you are fantastic its so awesome what you do.
Thanks,
Samantha - UK Wales
We have an 8 month old English Bulldog and love him to death but at times he acts crazy. He'll just be laying around or chewing on a toy and then out of no where he runs like a maniac full speed banging into walls, cabinets etc. Is this normal and why does he do it?
I have a 2 year old pug with Pigmentary Keratitis. I understand this to be pigment cells that grow on the eyeball. It has now started to partially cover her pupils and she has limited vision, she will be blind one day. There is all kinds of info on how to assist dogs with deafness and I am having difficulty finding information on how to transition a dog into a comfortable lifestyle with blindness. At 2 years old, she is still very active and quite alert. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Cesar!
My daughter's, dog's and I have seen every episode!
I have 3 pit bulls; 1 male and 2 females. One of my females, Xena, is sweet as pie but a total psycho when it comes to other dogs; even MY other dogs!
She'll be fine one minute and snap into the "red zone" the next.
Most recently...she treated our youngest dog, Ginger, like her own baby, until Ginger was 8 months old. Xena suddenly hated and started attacking her, to the point that we have to keep them apart now.
I'm not sure what to do about it. I just keep her away from the other two (she attacks the male dog too; he's twice her size).
She's even like this after running on the treadmill.
I wish you could come to Michigan and help! When I say "red zone", I mean it. (she nearly ripped Ginger's cheek off)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and Congrats on 100 shows!!
Congrats on your show! I do many of the things Ceasar suggests yet being one doesn't help when Max decides to "attack" a pedestrian when I'm driving; ditto when he's sitting in the car waiting for me to come out of a store. Pity the person who walks by him! He was adopted as adult dog without rules, neutered late, too. I don't feel like I have control and if I thought someone could do better, Max deserves more than me! I keep him because I'm afraid someone else will not understand his "attack" mode.Otherwise he is a too smart Aussie who's very lovable.
With all the negative publicity of pitbull attacks recently. Do you feel that there are certain breeds that should be banned. Is it just part of the breed or is it almost entirely the owners fault for these tragic occurences ?????
My question is: While exercise is very important, what do you do on days of inclimate weather, pouring rain, ice storms, etc?
Congrats on your 100th show. I have enjoyed the show and I am currently reading your books again to get ready for your visit to Atlanta, GA. I cant wait to meet you. I have not seen or read anything relating to a dog that licks humans alot. My dogs all have to lick my hands when they are by my side. Is licking related to any issues? Do dogs lick each other in their packs? Thanks again and best whishes for the next 100 episodes.
Hi Cesar,
First off I want to say congrats and great job. I have a Great Dane, and get on a website about Danes, and you are often talked highly about.
My Dane has a few issues that I am trying to work on. But the one I would like your help on today is.. he is a big chicken around other dogs. We have other dogs in the house and he is fine with them, and he acts tough with the neighbor dogs, but when I take him to the dog park he hides behind me. He will not play with the other dogs, not even if they are smaller. He will even attempt to jump on me if I am not watching him.
I have tried to socialize him, I have taken him through two puppy classes.
I just feel he is missing out on doggy fun and stresses too much when we go to dog parks. How do I help him? Thanks and keep up the GREAT work.
Paula
I have a 5 month old Jack Russell (male). He always wants to be first out the door to go outside and he has the bite at or jump on our 13 year min. schalser and our 11 westie (male) everytime want can we do to stop him from doing this? Min. Schalzer (male) does not want to go outside with him. Help!!!! We live in Colorado.
Cesar,
First off I watch your show with my 70 year old mother and we love it!!!!
Second, I have a 2 1/2 year old Lhasa Apso, and a mentally disabled aunt that lives with me, Chai the Lhasa does not get a long with her and always tries to bite her because of my aunts negative energy. My aunt goes into states of talking to herself or yelling and the Lhasa takes it is aggression and goes after her, I don't know what to do because it's not my aunts fault, and I believe Chai is just reacting to the negative energy. Chai is overall i great dog goes to the dog park everyday, walks on the treadmill, but I need to get this problem taken care, because my aunt gets scared and starts yelling and causing more panic when Chai goes after her.
Thanks, and God Bless,
Greg
Congratulations Cesar! We deeply appreciate your show. We watch it by renting your series on Netflix.
We have a pack of 7 dogs. 6 of our dogs walk on a leash as Cesar has taught. One does not. She pulls and when a car drives past she lunges. We have employed all of Cesars ideas and she still lunges and pulls.
One of our dogs periodically urniates on the beds. She urniates on the guest bed when we have guests. Occasionally she urinates on our bed?
With Appreciation,
Susan
Hello, I have a 2 1/2 yr old Bullmastiff. I have spoiled him by cooking beef, chicken, turkey and veggies to add to his dog food. Lately now he checks the bowl to see if there is anything in there that suits him for that moment. If not he walks away. Cooking differnet things is getting too time consuming.Recently I stopped adding these treats to his dog food and he won't eat at all. He went 2 days without eating and I went and bought some canned food to add to his dry. He ate that at first then turned his nose up again. I feed him twice a day 4 cups in total. I am wondering if I can cut this feeding down to once a day and the end of the day or is this too much food to give him all at once.
Thank you
Question:
I walk every morning for an hour with my pack (1 German Shepard and 3 Jack Russells)
They enjoy the long walk and they are pretty calm but hat should I do when a loose dog from the neighborhood approach us to fight? how can I make him go away? he makes my dogs upset and defensive. Please help!
Thank you
We have probably watched all 100 episodes & were addicted from the start. I used Ceasar's techniques on our rambunctious beagle/sheltie mix named Barney. Now, if he wants to go into another room of the house, he comes & sits behind me. Now when I look in Barney's eyes I can tell that I'm his pack leader, just by the way he looks at me. It's a wonderful feeling!
Thanks, Ceasar, and here's to 100 more episodes!!
Hi Cesar,
You do a great job and have set me straight with training my two yellow labs--one female, one male. They are 1 1/2 yrs. old. The female constantly harrasses the male until he gets mad and attacks her. There has never been blood or too much violence but I hate to see it happen. He ends up getting in trouble for being too rough when she starts it. She is also disciplined. Is this a natural male/female thing or can she be trained to stop doing this. They do love each other but she pushes his buttons and it's not fair. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your show.
Carol
Congrats on the 100 episodes; I'm offically addicted to watching the Dog Whisperer! And so is Logo, my 10 week old Chi-Poo. He's my first pet as an adult, so I'm taking good notes from you, Ceasar. My question to you is about a dog's teething habits. Logo has a plethora of puppy chew toys but like none of them. And he has a nice stainless steel food and water bowl, but refuses to use that either. He would rather chew playfully on fingers, toes, furniture and rugs, and will only eat food from a plastic dish... how picky is he!? Any suggestions to curb the chewing/biting frenzy?
-Nicole
Firstly congratulations for what you do for animals, I'm from Quebec canada, and I look at the issue in french, and you help me. I have a chihuhua crossed, I'm in the process of trying to stop japper rings or when someone arrives home. I hope to get there. Thank you again .. Too bad it was not in Quebec that someone like you who works psychology in animals.

merci
Congratulations Cesar!!! I love your show and use your techniques frequently. However, without having a big light and sound trailer for help, how can I help my 2yr old female Chihuahua with getting over thunder, fireworks, rain, car backfires and swans? And we could use a little help with getting her to respect us.
Thanks and Keep the episodes coming!!!
Leigh
Cesar,
I have 4 dogs - all different breeds and it's IMPOSSIBLE to walk them all together. If I could walk them all together, they'd get walked everyday. Any tips? Thanks.
Keon in Austin, Texas
Love you and love your show. You are such a special person and we are very fortunate to ve a part of your world. My problem: My mom is 80 years old (not a problem, I am very fortunate to have her around) and we have three dogs. One is a pit bull, Buffy. I cannot walk her because she goes crazy for small or large animals. Mom had her on a leach one day and she just pulled mom across the yard. How do you know whether they are in the "red zone" or not? That is my biggest concern. So far I have been able to control her but I don't know what she would do to another dog is confronted. She gets along fine with her pack and is well behaved in the house. Would love a special on agressive dogs and how we can tell when they go from one level to another. It just seems to me she is there with no warning. Thank you for all you do for all of us.
Penny
We have a 4month old almost 5month old Shipoo & we are having a hard time with stopping her from biting all the time. Do you have any advice for us.

I have a wonderful 4 yearo old Rottweiler that has a small problem. When I go into the back yard to do yard work, and if I'm not holding some sort of tool, he will throw his body up against my shins and bite my feet. Pulling on his collar makes him bite my arms and "tsst"ing does nothing. I usually try to change his focus to going into the house. He also does this to my daughter when she comes over to visit and is just walking through the house. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Unfortunately, I don't have cable and can't get National Geographic, however, when I'm at my parents house, I usually get to watch your program. Congratulations on your great success and 100 episodes!
Shiela
I want to say Congratulations to Cesar, his family, and staff! My family, friends, and I thoughly like watching your show and your DVDs. I also like reading your books.
I got some questions too:
I got 3 Shih Tzus. One of them has a history of abuse and is from the local humane society. We've been working with her to overcome her fears with the help of your show. We know that we can't live in the past. We don't yet sometimes she still gets scared. Is there anything that we can do to help her overcome her fear more?
Our 2nd dog is girl from a different pound. She is fixed on moving cars, birds etc when we walk is there anything that we can do to deter her from being focused on them?
Our 3rd dog is a boy. He likes to bite when he is scared and also loves to spin when he is excited. Is there any thing we can do to help him out?
My dream is to able to walk all 3 dogs calmly together. I can walk them in pairs calmly but not as a trio. Do you have any tips on how I can get 2 of my excited dogs to act more like our other dog (she seems to be calm submissive)?
Your input is much appreciated.
Congratulations on you and your dog whisperer team on your 100th show. I have not missed one of them. You are the man!!!!!!!!!I have 4 chihuahua spayed females at home. 2 are 2yrs old and 2 are 1yr old. One of the older dogs, Paris, pulls constantly on the leash. I have tried harnesses and collars and she just keeps choking herself. If I take out more than one dog she has to be in the front. She is definitely the alpha female. They do not make a gentle leader small enough to fit her head. Any suggestions?
SUPER!!!
Think of the countless dogs you have saved by showing how to correct their behavior problems.
QUESTION: How do I discourage that "guard-dog mentality" from barking at every little noise in the middle of the night?? I will thank you and the neighbors will thank you if you have a solution. (I have thought about ear plugs, for the dog, not the humans!)
Congrats to Cesar! I watch the show religiouly and I am reading his books also. I have a question.
My Great Dane is 150lbs. She gets dominant aggressive with other dogs. She doesn't bite them but makes a lot of noise with growling and the more submissive they are the more she wants to dominate. I can't figure out how to break this habit. I am big and out weigh her, but her 150lbs is all muscle. How do I get her "down" until she is calm & submissive?
Hi Cesar!
I have a teeny-WEENIE problem: I have a handicapped Dachshund (she has the bad back which is common to the breed). Due to her condition her activity must be restricted (no long walks, jumping, running, etc). Often she must be crated for several weeks at a time with NO activity allowed. How do you recommend disciplining her (without causing further injury) and keeping her from destructive behavior due to boredom?
Thanks,
Kim P.

Congratulations on your 100th episode. You are an inspiration to so many.
When are you coming to Canada?
janine -- I have the same exact problem with my Aussie. He's a fear biter and has biten some people. He's also passive/aggressive. Can't trust him around too many people, especially if they don't understand dogs. My groomer is ok with him as she doesn't give him a chance to be dominant or frightened. We've tried everything and my last trainer said to just keep him safe and keep him leashed when people are around.
Congrats Cesar for getting to the 100th show, you have been a great help to families with four legged friends, have read all your book so far, you have inspired me no end, carry on the good work, if you do not our fury friends will suffer.
God Bless you.....
In 2004, Animal Control brought a young Bull Terrier mix that had 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns that were deliberately inflicted by her "owner" to our veterinary hospital to see if she could be saved or should be euthanized. My husband, (a veterinarian) successfully treated her, we adopted her and she is the smartest dog we have ever owned. In 2005, we went on vacation to Belize, to the island of Ambergris Caye, where a stray dog (terrier mix ~4yrs old) adopted us the first day on the island and persuaded us to bring her home to Virginia. She wasn't a pack member (there were many), and after several weeks, she and Spirit became best friends. Since then, about every 8 or 9 months, they get in a vicious fight that escalates from just the normal playing and it is very hard to pull them apart. (No food or toys are involved.) They both turn into "red zone" cases (as your dueling pitbull episode we just watched), and it seems they would fight until the death if not separated. We have also got bitten in that process. What changes "best friends" into enemies in seconds and back to being best friends in 24 hours, and how can we avoid this next time? Maybe a "mood collar" would help! :) We would appreciate any advice you could give us. Thank you so much. Denise Poage
Cesar's methods went a long way in helping me with my Catahoula mix. I was considering returning her to the shelter, but Cesar's advice - EXERCISE - did the trick. Now I would like to get her friend. How can I select a dog with the right energy for us?
Thank you Cesar for all your help. I'vd had dogs for 25 years and this is the first time I've known what is the best way to help them.
Cesar congradulations on 100 shows. I have a Yorkie. How do I stop her from barking crazy when the doorbell rings?
Congratulations Cesar!!! you are wonderful.Love watching you...I have a question..I have 9 pomeranians..They are good dogs no problems with BAD behavior..I am the pack leader NO doubt EXCEPT for the BARKING...YICKS..I have tried so many different things but it is there nature to bark but when different things happen they are out of control..It isn't nuisance barking just annoying doorbell my hubby, mailman ...I also have 2 English Bulldogs that mingle well with all 9 POMS but the barking of the POMS is the problem..Hope to see your next 100...Thanks Nancy
thanks for all your helpful info, can you tell me what to give my 3 mos shih tzu puppy for a upset tummy
thanks,cathy T.
How can I stop my dog from whingeing when travelling in the car? I have used pills, I have tried talking to him, shouting at him, and phemerone sprays. (these did work till the accident). All to no avail. He has got worse since we were involved in an accident last year. He is so bad now that one of the other dogs has now started to nip him as she's fed up with him as well. He is also having terrible nightmares since the accident. If he were a child I would say that he is sobbing his heart out. Any help or tips would be greatly appreiciated.
Hey Caeser-thanks for such a common sense intuitive approach to dog training.
I breed & show pugs. One of my pugs, Simon, has anxiety when I put him in a crate and shut the door..or simply leaving him in the kitchen with a few of his pug friends causes him anxiety-barking and getting really upset-how can I de-sensitize him to this bad habit? Do I work with him with the other pugs around, or by himself. I live in a smaller house and have to keep the boys in the kitchen behind a gate so they won't escape and run outside the front door when people come and go.
Shalom-Laura
I have a question for any one who can help... I have a 13 week pomeranian puppy who loves to tt on the carpet... How can I train him to puppy pads like my other pom goes potty on?????? thanks Lisa
Hi Cesar,
Congrats to you and your team on 100 episodes! My question is about my 1.5 year old pit bull. I did a lot of training and socializing with him when he was very young, but now he's begun to act agressive around other dogs when I walk him. I live in an apartment complex and people have started complaining about him and we got a notice that if he continues we will have to leave. I don't know what to do!
Hi, Ceasar and family! I have more gratitude than I can express for all you have done for my husband, myself and our pack. One question: is there some dog psychology that explains a pack starting to attack a sick member of it's own pack--a behavior that began with the dog's failing health? We are committed to living the Cesar way, but may be failing in some way as our old and unwell beagle has been attacked twice by the other dogs. Many thanks for all you do. ~amy
Our dogs, two shelties, are getting older. We dread the time when we must take them to the vet for the last time. If dogs can sense how their owners feel, won't they become stressed sensing our pain and sorrow at having to put to sleep? Any advice on how to handle the final trip and moments, to make them positive for the dog and not just more stress in their final moments? I bet a lot of people would like to know what you have to say.
thanks, Karen Minto
Cesar,
I watch your show all the time. We adopted a male Shiba Inu, Harbor from the Shiba Inu, Jindo rescue two years ago. Now we adopted a female Jindo from the same rescue in May. Her name is Miko. She is now 8 months old. Both dogs are a lot of fun.I know from watching you, with both breads we have to be the pack leader. My problem is when we take them to the dog park. I walk them first, and we go early so it's not busy there but Miko jumps on people. She doesn't do it to us anymore, but how do I stop her when she is off the leash? Miko can run to the other side of the park and jump on someone a lot faster then I can get there. If I try to keep her on a leash she guards me from the other dogs.
any suggestions?
Keep up the good work. Your helping train a lot of us out there. Not the dogs,us.
Thank you Jackie
I have a 5 year old GSD and she had never bonded with my granddaughter, even though she had lived with us the day she was born until she was about 1 1/2 years old. We cannot play with my dog around my granddaughter because when my granddaughter wants to join in the fun my dog will push her away and sometimnes the dog may get a little to rough with my granddaughter. My granddaughter is now 2 1/2 years old and I am starting to get worried. What can I do to get my GSD to bond with her.
Thanks
Greetings, Caesar!
My name is Melissa and I'm a dog and puppy trainer going for my certification exam in a couple of weeks. I'm currently training in the Boston area. Would you consider starting another dog psychology center on the east coast? There are 1,000s of dogs that need an advocate and a place to achieve balance through pack balance all over the country - and your work in LA is monumental. I'd love to see something in New England. How can someone start something like this?
Best Wishes for the next 100 - and beyond!

I have a 6-month-old puppy (Maltese/Cavalie-poo mix)(4 lbs) which I have had since his was born and whelped. I put him in a crate during the day while I am at work and also at night time as I can't trust him yet - bladder-wise! However, he is waking up in the wee hours crying and I just don't know what to do. I live in an apartment and am concerned he is waking everyone up. Help...what should I do?
Thanks,

Where can I get a pair of your skates?
I have a 5 year old pomeranian mix that I got from a rescue. One of the issues I am having is that he has separation anxiety. When I get home; he cries, whines, jumps all over me; runs in circles till he is nearly out of breath........HELP!!!
Hi Cesar and congratulations on this so very important milestone!
I have Golden Retrievers and have had for the past 18 years. I have never had a problem grooming them or clipping their nails - until Jasmine came along 2 years ago! I have always done nails with a dremel and began to get Jazz used to it very young - about 8 or 9 weeks of age. She fought like she was being murdered so I switched to a clipper. She is terrified of that too. She stands pretty well for any other type of grooming, even clipping the fur around her toes, its just the nails that send her into a fit. At an obedience class this past spring 3 people held her down and tried to clip her nails. She fought so hard that her back paw scratched the trainer's hand and drew blood. She doesn't bite or even growl, just fights like her very life depends on it. I hesitate to take her to the vet to have them down as I know they will just hold her down and terrify her even more. I have given her melatonin at the suggestion of our vet to clam her. He said give her 6 mg and I gave her 3 times that and she doesn't even get tired out! Any suggestions?
Thanks

congrades on the 100th ep! there are so many of us confused owners that need your help and knowledge. thanks for sharing it with us, even if it is only once a week on TV...it is a insperation.
Q:how do i keep one overly agressive dogs behavoir from spreeding to the rest of my pack? have a new pit puppy and don't wont her picking up on his hatred of ppl.
thanks for everything-
I have written a couple time about my Rottweiler, Boo Boo. He is a year and a half and he is aggressive toward little kids and anyone who shows fear. He's also really difficult in the car. When he sees someone walking or on a bike or motorcycle or even something in the road that has fallen off of a truck, he goes crazy and lunges at the window. I use an E collar but he doesn't care. He won't let anyone near my car either. He did great at his PETSMART training class with commands but he's horrible now in the store if I try to take him inside. He will lunge at everyone and he has bitten a few people in the arm. I also have a female Rottweiler, Roxy - she is almost 4. She is dominant with him and he acts like he's afraid to eat with her around. But if she leaves he won't eat at all. So mealtime is stressful. I have to stand there and make sure he eats and if he leaves anything in his bowl she goes for it unless her E collar is on. And she's always chewing on his back legs when they play. I watch the show all the time and try to be very strong as the pack leader but I'm doing something wrong. HELP!
Our 4 Boston Terriers are very well behaved when we are home. But, if we go out, say, to dinner, when we get home something is always torn up. They have destroyed 4 throw rugs so far. What gives?
My Shih-Tzu Named BOO is terrified of rainy weather and fire works. I have tried walking him during rainy days but he just start to shake and pees all over and even has a bowl movement all at the same time. There doesnt have to be thunder just rain will cause this behavior, it there is thunder things get worse, as he trys to run away. I have given him Tranquillizers (prescribed by our Vet) but that only makes him drugy and will not clam him down. What can we do to help this 3 year old family pet. Our female HOPE is just the oposite she loves rain. They are both fixed and we bath bath both once a week with no problems. We have them Groomed once every 6 weeks. They are both a lot of fun if it is not raining. We walk them as often as possible weather permitting.
Thanks

Our foster dog, Lazlo, is a small rat terrier who gets his exercise and is otherwise a very adoptable dog, but I can't seem to break him of his one bad habit - he leaps our 6 foot chain link fence around our dog run and runs the neighborhood. Any suggestions?
Dear Cesar and all the pack at the Reha Center.
I must admit, I really didn't care much about Cesar teaching humans how to "reha" our species and showing them how to be the "Pack Leader". I was very content with being the Leader in the house. However, lately I can't help to notice how my Master's stress (teenager) energies are getting to me. When she argues with her Father, I feel this impulse to bark and attack him. Also, I notice how stressful I feel at times; although I have the solution to this one, (Im so smart) I chew on the expensive dinning room. When we go for walks, I love "showing" them the way. Im sad because they don't allow me to utilize my given gift of smell not even during walks. Is this okay?
Please help,
Congrats on your 100 tv program. Hey is there any chance I get a spotlight in your show?
Hi Greg/Cesar,
I have a question about obsession. You have talked in details about obsession/fixation over toys, but what about squirrels? I can't really negotiate with the squirrels and have one of them stand next to my dog until she gives in.
Thank you for your time!
I am adopting a 10 week old female Wheaten Terrier in 2 weeks. What is the best way to introduce the new puppy to my 8 year old Wheaten male?
Congratulations! I have watched all your shows more than once, love them all, learning so much. Still trying to master "the walk" without having my arms ripped out by my two girls, it's supposed to be bonding and a joy? ha! I dread it and get tired of juggling the leashes from one hand to the other at least 20 times during our walks! I know it's me, Cesar says so! Some of your blogs ring true with other issues I have too, always interesting and informative, another 100 years of episodes Cesar & Family! You have changed our lives in this home!

Congratulations! My husband and I love your show!!
I have one question that I ask myself every time I see you on the show with an aggressive dog:
"Were you ever afraid of aggressive dogs? If yes, how did you overcome that fear?"
I would love to help give the Pit bulls a better reputation in this world and am working on overcoming any obstacles that might stop me from achieving this! Thank you so much for all that you have taught me!
Anna
I certainly enjoy, and become very emotional when I see the success stories. My 6 year old Golden Lab mix, all 110lbs, loves people, but is very dog agressive at the sight of another dog. jerking his leash has no effect....the excitement has already built to fever pitch and I have to keep walking until out of sight. Any help would be so appreciated....Can I receive email support?...bohicarrl@comcast.net
Congratulations on all you have achieved so far. It is definitely a milestone! As we all have goals and milestones with our dogs, my question to you is this - With all the success and accomplishments so far, rehabilitation center, tv, books, products and all the great tools, where do you go from here? What are your future goals as "The Dog Whisperer"?
All the best in the future! Cheers! Tara
Cesar - I have watched all 100 episodes and seen most of them about ten times in reruns everyday. I am a huge fan!
My question: You often have Mexican people on your program and recently you helped a woman confined to a wheel chair by having her appear before Mexican school children.
Since your rules for dogs are about "boundaries and limitations"
could you please tell me what the southern border of the United States represents for you?
This ia question about my labs diarreha, She is 13 years old & has cancer. I have tried everything I know, even pure pumpkin, but she doesn't like the taste. Any other suggestons. I know we are on borrowed time with her, but want to to be around awhile longer. It hurts me to watch her try and go potty to only see diarreha.
Thank you.

First, please accept my congratulations, and appreciation for providing wonderful episodes.
Question:
My girlfriend's dog (Great Dane) behaves great when at least one of the family members is at home. He would not reach out to food on table or any where else that’s not supposed to be his (even though within his easy reach). However, on several occasions, when none of us is at home, he would rip-apart paper-bags etc to dig out food that's in his reach. By the time we get back home, we feel it's too late to tell him what is it that he did wrong. He's otherwise a wonderful dog to be around, and listens and follows very calmly to what we say.
How do we communicate it effectively to him about what he did wrong in our absence?
Note: He was adopted from another lady, and he has had anxiety problems initially. It could be that part of it has to do with that anxiety problem.
Thanks
Congrats on your 100th episode!! That's great!
I have a question regarding our two very-loving beagles. Every time my husband crawls into bed, both our 1-year old male and 3-year old female beagles lick his face for a couple of minutes. Thank goodness they do not feel the need to lick my face, but we were just wondering why they do this. We thought maybe it was a female act of nurturing until our male beagle did the same thing. Just curious...
Thanks for your help!
Hi Cesar, First off let me congratulate you on your 100th episode. Great job!! I wondered if you will ever be in Sparta N.J.? I have a one year old female Yorkie named Sophie that I think would give you a run for your money. :) She drives my Male Westie crazy as well as the rest of the family at times. Ive tried the Cesar way and must be doing something wrong. She has no response. HELP!!!
Love, Marina
You are such a gift for us all Cesar, to teach us about our dogs. You have a wonderful sense of communication with dogs and humans!
We should all honor you, yet I know you are very humble about that recognition.
Look forward to another 100!!
Carol
We have an 8-year old male PinMin we got when he was 11 mo. He loves canine and human females. He tolerates male dogs and men if he doesn't feel challenged for a female's attention. He mopes and pouts if I greet my husband first when I get home. If my husband comes near me he goes ballistic and even sits in a protective position to try to keep him away. He also barks if my husband goes in and out the front door. He only acts this way if I'm home. Other times he will be affectionate to him but it seems to be only when he can get food. My husband thinks he comes third in the pack after me and then the dog. What do I do that won't "break" my baby in the process?
Cesar and staff: Congtatulations on your 100th show. My question is this: I have an 8 y.o. Dalmatian, "Neo" who is a champion "counter surfer", that is, if you leave some sort of food item on the counter, he will sneak in if your back is turned and that item will be in his mouth in an instant. It's really an inconvenience to have to put things out of his reach if you have to leave the kitchen; is there an easy way, or even a not so easy way of breaking him of this particular bad habit? Thanks, and again congratulations.
If you have multiple dogs, why is it wrong to use the dogs name when correcting the dog?? Thank you
I noticed that others have similar questions--I have a three year old Schnauzer that we are trying to train as a service/ther. dog. We've tried several methods to get her to stop barking. Such as rattleing a can, sending her to another room or outside, sit and stay. She follows these commands well but when we tell her "enough" she continues to bark. This seems to be a greating, pertective or informative behaviour only at home. She does very well in public (most of the time). Any other ideas?
I own a store and my lab has been acting out at the store only since we got a golden back in april. She timed so it's not like her. Help
HI CESAR, LOVE YOUR WAY!
I rescued a sweet 3 yr. old border collie girl. Strange noises trigger a dark side and she runs to attack my other 2 BC boys. I've tried everything I can think of.
HELP MY BOYS!!!
Hi Cesar: Congratulations on this fantastic milestone. You should be very proud of your show and of what you have done for animals, and for all of us humans who own animals. I cannot even tell you how much I have learned from you and your show. What a difference in the way my dog reacts to me and behaves since I started using your dog psychology methods. Whenever I am giving her exercise, discipline or affection, I always have you and how you do things in my mind.
Can you please advise me on walking my 4 pound chihuahua Lily? She will not walk with a halter on, so I use a collar and lead, but when she stops walking, I am afraid to give her a tug to pull her forward. Her neck and trachea is so small and delicate, so I am afraid of hurting her. Even when I hold the leash up high on her neck, like you advise, it does not work in getting her to move forward. I looked on your website (and in "Petco") at the "Illusion" collar, but it advises against using it on dogs this small. Any advice on what to do would be very much appreciated.
Thanks again, and God bless you Cesar, you are truly the angel of the animals.
Congratulations, and best wishes for many hundred episodes more, Ree Abbott in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Congrats Cesar,
My friend has a new puppy that bites us back when we do the tsst and bite with the hand. What are we doing wrong? She is a 8 wk boxer/
mastiff/bulldog cross.
My dog, who is an 8-year old Beagle/Shepherd mix (and weighs 80 lbs.) is a well-behaved, sweet dog for the most part. However, when we are out walking, if she sees a cat or another dog (especially large dogs), she barks and pulls, sometimes with great force, and I have almost lost control of her at these times (I have a bad back and my fear is that she will go running off if I don't hold on tight and get run over by a car). Last summer I actually employed your methods and she was much, much better but lately she has started this again. I think she reacts like this from fear (at least as it pertains to other dogs) as she was attacked twice by large dogs who were off leash, the last time needing stitches. I'd appreciate any guidance you could give me (I think I also tense up now because of this because I am afraid of injury to my back again. Thank you.
Cesar,
Congratulations on 100 fabulous shows! We watch all the time and appreciate your knowledge and your sharing it.
We have a wonderful, energetic 10 month old Vizsla male who has just started digging in the garden. He also eats dirt (or things he finds in the dirt) and nice juicy roots. How can I stop him from digging? He gets exercise outside of our fenced in yard daily and we also play hard in the yard several times a day. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, and continued success.

Hi Cesar,
my dog , Maya, is completely obssessive about likking. She is always likking someone or something... It's annoying when you come at her and she's all happy but she liks you all over your body!
I hope you can help me!
Thanks!
Hi Cesar,
I have a Rat Terrier and a Golden Retriver. Whenever I come home or walk out the door my Rat Terrier slips through the fence and takes off at a dead run like he's chasing somthing. Why does he do this?
Thanks
Brenda
I have a wonderful but very high energy golden retriever. I have no doubt that he respects me as leader... except when on a leash! No matter what I do, no matter what kind of harness/leader leash/collar I use he pulls constantly. I have tried Cesar's methods as well as many others. I remain patient and assertive, never angry, but he just never seems to get it. He will choke himself the entire walk. Eventually, about 2 miles into the walk, he will sometimes catch on, but the next day it all goes out the window. Tips please!
Hi,
I have a 5 year old Collie, she is a wonderful, loving dog but when I am not outside with her she barks at everyone she sees. If I go correct her she stops but the minute I am not there she barks. She loves to lay in the yard but when she starts barking we bring her in. She gets exercise everyday and still barks.
Help.
I have a seven year old shih tzu that I rescued from animal control. I have had him only 8 months and he has some issues that I can't seem to help him with. He is very "leash reactive". He has a long history of being attacked, he's missing an eye, half and ear etc. I have been working with him using your methods and others. I would love to take him to the dog park, but can't yet. Any thoughts?
Congrats on 100 episodes. My question is I have a Border Collie and ever time I leave the house she will CHEW and Tear my furniture to the point where I have to replace it, how can I stop this Behavior?????
Congrats on 100! Your show is truly amazing. We have 2 yellow labs, 4 years old. Our male, an American Lab, is very social, our female and English lab has issues with other dogs, never people just other dogs. She tends to go after them and be very aggressive. We have tried different socializing methods but she just has an attitude. Any suggestions?
PIT BULLS RULE ! I RESCUED A 3 MONTH OLD PIT STRAY FROM THE ANIMAL SHELTER AND GOT TO HIM FIRST BEFORE THE "DOG FIGHTERS" COULD GET HIM. HE WAS SICK WITH THE PARVO VIRUS BUT I CHOSE TO SAVE HIM.....AS I KNEW HE WOULD SAVE ME(BY GETTING ME OUT Of THE HOUSE AND HAVING A LIFE AGAIN). HE IS A MALE BRINTLE COLOR AND IS ABOUT 50 LBS. AT 6 MONTHS OLD. I HAVE HIM TRAINED TO SIT, LAY, STAY, WALK THE TREADMILL.....HE IS VERY SMART. BUT.....I AM BRUSED FROM PAW MARKS AND "TEETHING" NIBBLES. I USE A "PINCH" COLLAR WHEN I TAKE HIM OUT WALKING AND SO FAR HE IS VERY FRIENDLY WITH OTHER DOGS AND PEOPLE. MY QUESTION IS AT WHAT AGE ARE PITTYS CONSIDERED FULL GROWN AND MATURE? I AM SOMEHWHAT DISABLED (ATAXIA...A BALANCE DISORDER) BUT I ALWAYS MANAGE TO SHOW HIM I AM THE PACK LEADER (BUT YOU MAY SAY THE BRUISES SAY DIFFERENT). I REFUSE TO BACK OFF WHEN HE GETS TOO PLAYFUL. I HOPE I CAN MAKE HIM A SERVICE DOG FOR ME SOMEDAY. I LIVE IN MICHAEL VICK COUNTRY AND HE HAS GIVEN PITS SUCH A BAD REPUTATION. MY GOAL IS TO TURN THAT NEGATIVE THOUGHT AROUND AND LET PEOPLE SEE THAT PIT BULLS CAN MAKE EXCELLENT DOGS AND COMPANIONS. I LOVE YOU AND YOUR SHOW. CONGRATS! HUG "DADDY" FOR ME.

Hi Cesar. Congratulations on your 100th! I really enjoy your show even though I am not a pack leader myself. Would you consider me a bad pet owner since I don't try to be a leader? My two lab mixes have never been hungry, cold or alone. They don't have to work or suffer outside in the elements. They are fed good food prescribed by their veterinarian. They have been spayed and neutered, get all their shots every year (in fact, they see their doctor more than I see mine) and flea, tick, etc. preventatives every month. Of course I wish they were better behaved and obedient. But I love them more than I love myself, and as long as they're safe and happy isn't that enough?
Hello. Our dog had cat aggression issues when we got her. She is a boxer and we worked very hard training her to be calm submissive, obedient and to not chase cats. While we were out of town last year she killed one of our cats and a month later our Chi was killed over food while we were at work. What does it mean for our dog now that she has killed 2 animals? Most of the time she is perfectly behaved, but can she ever be trusted around small animals again or should we always keep her separated while we are not there?
We have a pack of 5 dogs,3 Rotties,a pitbull mix and a Jack Russel terrier. We have to keep one of them separated because she will snap and attack 2 of the others. She is then really in the red zone. We have 2 teenage daughters and a 2 year old son who loves this dog.We don't want anyone getting hurt. How can we change this and help her to get along with them? We would love to have all of them together. PLEASE Cesar, help us!
Hi Cesar!
We adopted a 3 month old retriever mix from the city pound 4 years ago. We love her like one of our kids. Our problem is she's very nervous to go outside for a walk, in fact, won't. When we get her outside she pulls until she gets back into the house. We feel so sorry for her. But she doesn't have a problem going in the car for a ride, except if someone looks her way she starts shaking like a leaf. Please advise! Thank you. p.s. Love the show!
We have a 4 year old male golden retriever who has bitten visiting puppies when they get in his face or near him. Once the pups are about 4 months old he is ok & plays with them.
He slightly raises a lip, and growls softly, but then goes right to the bite! Our female golden will give a warning by sounding mean, and makes a fast motion as if to bite but never put her mouth on the visiting pup.
whatta we do?
I have a 3 year old female german shepherd that I made the mistake of not socializing. I now cannot have company over, or even think about walking her. She tries to attack any animal or person that she can see and has even tried to go through my screen to get to them. One time when she escaped my house she trapped a neighborhood child on a neighbors porch, luckily she has so far not bitten anyone. Is there anyway I can fix this? I have a 7 year old that I am afraid to let have friends over and would like her to be able to play with other dogs not try to kill them. I also cannot cut her nails or get her to stay still so I can groom her. PLEASE HELP ME. I'm afraid my only option is to have her put down.
Hi Cesar,
Congratulations on your 100th episode!
I have a small problem with my lab/beagle mix. Whenever she gets scared by loud noises like thunderstorms or fireworks and no one is home she will tear holes in the back of my couch and loveseat. I have repaired the damage and now give her tranquilizers if I know a storm is coming, but sometimes the noises are unpredictable and I'm afraid she will tear up more furniture. Besides these panic situations she is a great dog.
Thank you for your help.
I have a 6 yr old Shih-Tzu who is aggressive towards other dogs> I try correcting him with your "bite" technique but it doesn't work..I have gotten him close to a female puppy but not nose to nose he climbs on the back of my legs like he wants to be picked up...he mostly barks at other dogs & strangers on the street..is he aggressive or just insecure? and how do I correct him...I would love to take him to a dog park but am afraid to let him off the leash..in the house he's very friendly and my groomer tells me that he very happy dog ...strange, he doesn't bark when I take him to the groomer & he's side by side with other dogs...is it because they are all in the same state of mind..
I watch all ofyour episodes and record them so I can review your techniques..I wish I could correct him...we live in a Florida beach community where all the dogs are friendly except mine...Please help
Cesar, thank you and congratulations. You have done so much for so many. I went to one of your first seminars here in the Baltimore Washington area and walked away with so much respect for your knowledge of dogs and of the people who own them. My thoughts were that you should have gone on and become a human psychiatrist, you have so much to offer, your shows are so healing. Again thank you and your family. Pat
Congratulations to Cesar and his staff! You have been a source of hope and inspiration to us and many - thanks!
Our question is this: we have a 3 1/2 year old Aussie/Shepard mix that we literally found on our doorstep 3 years ago. Although he is well behaved in familiar surroundings, we soon discovered that he is very reactive to strangers and other strange dogs. We have tried numerous trainers and have tried to stay calm and assertive and employ techniques we have learned from your show. However, we just cannot seem to get him to relax in those situations. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
You're the best!
I have 2 mastiffs--1 4yr spayed female and 1 2yr neutered male. Recently 2 very dog/human aggressive pit bulls moved next to me. They continue to attack at the fence when my dogs are out and have almost climbed over the fence. I need help dogs behavior have changed dramatically especially the female. Both of my dogs are well socialized, certified therapy dogs.
help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A while back your website said the psychology center closed and would re-open later, has it re-opened yet?
Melissa
Ceasar, thank you so much about teaching us what the dogs really need.I have learned so much from you and trying very hard to apply it to my 3 Shihztu's. I want to know when are you coming to Arizonia? A lot of people out here could use your help. Cong. on your 100 episodes and hope you have another 100. Thank you.
Congrats on your 100th episode!!
I (well, the whole family) have learned so much from watching your show!
We look forward to 100+ more episodes!!!
Hi Cesar- Congrats on your 100th episode. I have watched them all and I'm so in awe of what you do. Keep up the great work. I have a 4 yr. old Maltese who barks at everyone and a 12 week old Chihuahua I can't seem to potty train to the puppy pads. He thinks they are to play on. He also runs up to and charges Joey(the4yr.old).
What does that mean? He also nips at him. Help!
Congratulations Cesar
I need help I have 3 Yorkies male and 2 Females. Anytime someone come to the door they run to the door barking and fighting with each other that I ahve to close the door and put them in another room before I can let the visitor in. I tried standing in front of the door and the older female will back up look at be and bark as if she is talking back. HELP !!
Hi Cesar
I love your show. I have a rescue Greyhound who is lovely with us humans but extremely aggressive towards other dogs. We don't know what happened to her in the past but she came to us in a bad way and immediately had to have part of her rear paw amputated as it had been broken and set wrong.
She has to be muzzled and when we take her in the fields to let her run have to make sure other dogs aren't about or catch her before she sees them. If we are a bit slow all hell breaks loose. We have tried everything we can think of and don't want to have to keep her muzzled all her life. We already had a lurcher that she has now got used to but is definitely the alpha over her.
Any suggestion that we can try would be great. Dog trainers in the UK just wash their hands of her.
Our 2 1/2 year old dog Maverick is a wonderful German Shepard/Alaskan Malamute Cross. He is a neutered male and weighs a 100lbs. We got him when he was 12 days old, so he was hand raised and bottle fed. For the first 2 months of his life he was with me 24/7. He is the, sweetest, goofiest dog you've ever met and has no problem rolling over so he can have his belly rubbed. He loves everyone both dogs and people alike. We have a really big problem with him when we give him treats (dog bones, rawhide, etc) and he can also be food aggressive. He will roll his lips back and show my husband and I all his teeth while growling. In the past he would only do it with my husband but now it's both of us. I don't think he will bite but my husband thinks he will and we don't want to find out. We have don't have children ourselves but we have lots of kids in our life (as well as lots of adults) We really need to get him to stop. If there is not food around he is the nicest, happy go lucky dog you could ever hope for. He loves everyone and everone loves him. How can we stop this?
Congratulations on 100 episodes.
We have a 3 year border collie/whippet mix who is very aggressive towards most everything, bikes, kids, motorcycles, etc. When the front door is open and any of the above goes by she tears toward the door and barks, snarls, excessively. Trying to take her for a walk (which is seldom now) is pretty much the same. We are afraid to take her out in fear she will get a hold of someone. HELP!
Paul and Teri
Congratulations Cesar on your remarkable achievement!! My PVR records every episode.
Question~~ How do you feel about appealing to the dog's stomach rather than to their brain in terms of training?
Rockannand German Shepherds
A big time fan!
Hi Cesar
Congrats on your 100th episode. Oh how I applaude you. My sister thought I was absolutely crazy for tuning in as much as I do. I have a 3 year old Japanese Chin, she is a very sweet girl. A little subborn at times. My sister who use to riducule me now needs your helppppp because she has a yorkshire terrier puppy who loves to bite toes and take shoes off of her.:)
I'm the 3 Yorkie owner. Soory I did not include my name. Desperate for help!!
Dear Cesar,
You are definitely my hero (hope you never get tired of hearing that). I do have a question though. My yellow lab, Ranger, who is basically well trained still continues to pull, tending to walk just a little more in front of me than I think he should. I use your collar and I believe it's positioned correctly, but when I have to jerk on it I worry that I'll injure the dog's trachea and he gags. When I relax the leash, I feel that the cord doesn't loosens enough. I know we have to walk more and that's likely the answer, but can I hurt his neck with that collar with all the jerking on it? Hope you are able to address this question on your show. And demonstrate how the collar should fit. The directions are clear, but I wish it would release more freely....
Thank you,
Anita
Hi Cesar: We have a Boxer that we rescued and we are his 3rd home. He has aggression issues towards some dogs, not all dogs. How can we figure out if it's fear aggression or just raw aggression and why it's only toward some dogs. We really would like to help him get over this and any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lisa Barker
Hi,
My wife and I have 2 Blue Healers or Australian Cattle dogs. The big boy, “Bandit” is 3 years old and approx. 55 lbs, most likely 10 lbs overweight. The little girl, “Belle Starr” is 2 years old and approx. 35 lbs., she runs like the wind, I ride my bike with my dogs, one dog at a time, in the afternoon, and travel approx. 2.75 to 3.75 miles total distance. I typically stop once for 5 to 15 minutes during the voyage for a drink from the pond and some fun play time chasing ducks. Our general speed is 3.5 mph (slow) to 5.75 mph (fast), using the computer on my bike.
My question is how often should I stop to rest? Please tell me if my speed is good, slow or too fast? Should I take more breaks or how can I tell if I am running them too much? At the end of the run they will lay on the lawn or walk around in their plastic pool that is just belly deep to cool down. They both pant almost from the start of the run to the end so it is hard to tell that way if they are running to hard.
Any other hints or tips you could supply would be very helpful as we love our dogs like children and have no desire to injure or make the run a less than enjoyable undertaking. Thank you in advance and we love your web site and never miss it.
Dave & Marty Hamaker, Bandit & Belle Starr or the Dastardly Duo
I have a 2 year old female Pug. She flips out whenever a dog is on the television. she tries to jump closer to the screen and cries and whines. She also gets a dark stripe down her back and seems to be in her own world. I don't know what to do.
Dear Cesar,
Congradulations, Bless and Thank, You, Your Family and Staff.
Frequently you have talked of holding a dog's tail out from under or between their legs because it is a sign of fear. What do you do in the case of a tailess breed such as an Aussie to get the same affect? My 7yr old Aussie "CHIKO" and I will be watching!!!
We adopted a 2 year old Siberian husky from a local no kill shelter. He is an amazing dog but there are a couple of behaviors we have not been able to correct:
- When someone rings the doorbell or when we he knows are going to take him out for a walk, he starts running in circles sometimes even jumping on the furniture
- When we take him for a walk, he pulls like crazy. We have tried everything but cant get him to walk next to us. We walk him almost everyday (for at least 30 minutes).
Great show
Congratulations Cesar
I need help! I have 3 Yorkies,1 male and 2 Females. Anytime someone come to the door they run to the door barking and fighting with each other that I have to close the door and put them in another room before I can let the visitor in. I tried standing in front of the door and the older female will back up look at me and bark as if she is talking back. The older female darts out the door when I go outside and has almost gotten hit by a car. I love them to death but they are ruling me. HELP!!!!!!!:)
Hi,
We have a male Pembroke Corgi, 1 1/2 years old. He is very smart and always aware of what is happening in his "pack". He has a bad habit of following anyone who leaves the group and barking loudly at them. Corgis have a very loud, piercing bark for their size. This happens, for example, as someone leaves the dinner table or gets up from watching tv. It seems to be worse if the person is walking briskly. I think it is related to herding behavior but I don't know what to do about it.
Thank you,
Laurie
I love the show, and has provided so much information.
I love that there is the dog psychology center on the west coast - but what about those of us in the midwest or east coast? Has Cesar ever thought of opening more psychology centers in the US?
Thanks for such a great show - I have my whole family hooked (including my 5 year old) and we all love it.
Congratulations on 100 episodes - look forward to the next 100!
Ceaser,
Congrats on the 100 episodes!! I was wondering if you are planning on going to other states? I am in VA and have a English Mastiff, Cane Corso, & pug..and need some help.
Thanks so much! We will be watching!
Congrats on 100th espisode! Many more wonders to come! I LOVE your show! I am a loyal fan. I watch your show every week and even watch the reruns in the afternoon on NGC. I have learned so much from you. I had a situation with my pitbull and american eskimo and have contacted a behaviorial dog trainer and she actually uses your techniques so when I seen your show I was so glad to see the same techniques that I can review and use on a daily basis with my dogs. My female pitbull..(mix?) has a tendacy to portray dominance over my small male american eskimo but I know what to look for and keep her in check. Sometimes the American Eskimo has low self esteem when he feels intimidated but I don't nuture that either. Thank you for this show! It is truly a blessing.
P.S. I may want to become a dog whisperer myself got any classes?
First of all, Congratulations! Second, BRAVO for the job you do and for helping so many people not give up on their dogs and establish a healthy relationship. Third, I have a 4 yrd old German Sheppherd who wont stop jumping and hanging him self on our fence. This behavior has caused numerous injuries to his paws (specially his pads). In addition to this, we will not stay in any enclosed areas (i.e. dog run) he chews through the metal fencing of the run and frees himself. I know he was abused as a puppy but don't really know what exactly happened to him.
Thank you for your time. May God bless you and your family (Canines included).
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 100TH SHOW! From all of us out here who are trying to be better pack leaders, thank you for bringing us your insight into the canine mind. Do you have any plans on expanding your areas in which you do consultations? Those of us in PA would love to be able to benefit from your expertise and/or attend a seminar! God bless you and your family for everything you do!!!!!
Cesar, congratulations on your 100th episode! Your show has helped me so much with my 3 yr old German Shepherd. He now gets a lot of exercise either 2 long walks a day or working horses. Our problem is meeting other large dogs. He is fine with small dogs, but when he sees large dogs, up goes the hackels. We have tried several times to introduce him to large dogs like himself. If they submit to him and roll over, he goes after them anyway and if they just want to play and run around he goes after them as well. Why the difference in behavior between small and large dogs? Help!
My dog (thanks to all I've learned from your show and your books) is well-behaved, well-balanced and a joy to be around. He is polite and calm around everyone he meets and loves to snuggle. EXCEPT my brother-in-law. Oscar, my dog, is territorial/aggressive ONLY towards my brother-in-law. There's nothing visually different about him than any other human he's met, and I've tried everything from "no touch, no talk, no eye contact" to having my brother-in-law feed Oscar steak (he won't take it from him but will from other people). What can I do to get these two peacefully in the same room together?
Happy 100th Cesaer & Family!!!! My Husband and I have seen them all, and we've really learned so much! My question is this: We have 2 Shep/Corgi mixed that are 8 mos, and a Beagle/Lab mix who just turned a year old. Although we've been dilligent, they still have some issues on the leash and chewing things that don't belong in their mouths. Is this because they're still puppies? Also, we're out in the country, so "walking" them is not quite the same. I let them run the fields, supervised and 1 at a time, to get exercise. Is this enough to "challenge" them? We walk them too, even have a backpack for the eldest, but I'm afraid their exercise isn't structured enough.
Congratulations! Great show and great man.
One question, what do you do with a dog who knows what you are telling him to do but chooses not to unless food is involved? Our minpin Max will only sit for me when he is getting a treat or his meal. I know to put him into the position when I tell him to do but why does he refuse when there is no reward? This has always puzzled me.
Thanks
I have a toy poodle that obeys my every command but I cant get him to calm down when someone comes to visit.
I know how to do it, if I could kneel down and breathe at the same time. I have COPD, Im 71 and I cant move fast when I want to. How can I get the calm results in this condition.
Thank you
I have watched every show. I enjoy each and everyone. My question is do you have any whisperes' in North Alabama? I need help desperately and know you are too busy to help me. I want someone like you to help me with me puppies. They are destroying my house.
Hi Ceasar,
I have two dogs and they love going for rides in the car. One of the "girls" Suzi is a Heinz 57 variety who is 8 and the other is an Australian Shepperd whose 11. The Aussie love to bark at everything as she looks out the window. I don't know how to stop this. She always was a barker - she loves other animals but doesn't seem to care for people. It really takes her awhile until she gets to know them - sometimes 7 years!!
She just barks. I even bought her a barking collar and of course it doesn't work.
Any suggestions?
Congrats on your 100 episode.
Louise
I have learned SO much from Cesar's show. He is such an inspiration (and entertaining at the same time!).
My 12 year old Rottweiler passed away in March and I desperately want another one.
Are the training techniques that Cesar demonstrates the same for puppies at 8 weeks old?
If not, at what stage does the Pack Leader/Dog Owner apply them?
Thank you!
Hi Ceasar! Congratulations on your 100th episode!! You are helping the world and every creature in it and I love you for that (as do my dogs) I was wondering what you thought the best part of your job is and who would you like to meet most in life? Love you
~Jennifer~
Huge congratulations on your 100th episode. Your show has been a huge help in how I interact with my pack of four Boxers and one Jack Russell Terrier. There are so many issues with the Jack that still need work. I'm convinced that your show has literally saved her life. If you're ever here in Maine, please come on over! You'll get as much lobster as you eat!
Please tell Cesar "thank you" for everything he has done - for all of his hard work, patience and deication to learn (and continue to learn) about dog psychology. And for being such a wonderful and talented teacher for us humans on how to better communicate and provide pack leadership for our canine companions.
Congrats on 100 episodes & on a beautiful family!
I have a 4 yr old German Shorthaired Pointer who is a great bird dog. I walk him almost every day, twice a day. My problem is, he keeps pulling ahead of me. I can't make him stay beside me, & I have him on a short leash. He acts like he is always hunting, & ignores me. My arm always hurts from his constant pulling. Help!
I have a rescued dog that is part chow chow and part Akita. He is very aggressive in protecting his food. He will not let anyone near him when he has food. He even bit my 94 year old Mother when he thought she was going to take his food. How do we deal with this problem?
I would like to know what the heartworm treatment was given to the "Katrina" dogs, and why these injections aren't used by all vets. We recently took in a stray boxer that they said was heartworm positive, but the treatment is 6 visits and nearly $800. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of money, even for my own health, much less a stray. I just have to feel better knowing he'll have a better life living with me that surviving on the street. If I'm armed with information, I can question my vet.
Thanks for all the good you do, and for giving me the power to be an assertive pack leader. It has made a big difference in my life and my rescue dogs.
Barb
WE LOVE U CESAR, MY 4 YR OLD ROTTY,TOBY BITES ON HIS FOOT TILL IT BLEEDS THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR 3 LONG YRS AND ITS ONLY WHEN IM AROUND .WE NEED HELP!!!,HE ALSO IS VERY AGGRESIVE AND BITES PEOPLE AND OTHER DOGS.WHAT CAN WE DO? THANK U FOR YOUR GREAT WISDOM.
Cesar, I have a 10 month old pug. He is a GREAT dog, but he has one issue. He goes out to go potty just fine, but coming back in to the house, he stops at the back door and won't come in the house. He thinks we are playing with him and runs around. The only way I can get him is to ask him if he wants to go bye bye and open the van door. BUSTED! Help.
We have a boston terrier (Pickles) who cannot seem to get along with other dogs at the dog park. Whenever we take him to the park, he greets pretty much any dog with a lunge to the face as opposed to the typical calm sniffing style greeting. Is there anything we can do to get him to refine his social skills? We have another dog (Carlito) who is nothing but sweet and mild mannered when meeting other dogs at the park but our visits are always cut short because of Pickle's aggressive behavior. Please help!
Congratulations on 100 episodes!
WOW! 100 episodes...and still so calm-assertive!
I have a five month old female Pit Bull mix and I am very proud of her calm-submissive attitude we have worked on since the beginning. However, when she interacts with others, she gets very excited and pees. I try to keep her calm and encourage others to react calmly with her as well. But sometimes that just makes it worse. If you can, could you help?
Staying Calm Assertive,
Madison
Congratulations on 100 episodes! My husband & I have a 3 year old Lab, Gracie, that we adopted from a rescue group about a year ago. She is basically a very good girl, obedient, good with other dogs, etc. She has 1 very specific quirk, though, that we are not sure how to handle. When she swims with other dogs, she becomes very focused, especially when balls are involved. She will swim over to the other dog, try to take the ball, and if they resist, she will jump on top of them, constantly dunking them under water. After we experienced this twice with her, we no longer allow her to swim with other dogs, because it is very frightening - she knows "Leave it" and "Come," but completely ignores me in this situation. The oddest thing is that she cares NOTHING about balls or any other type of toy on land - she won't retrieve herself and never tries to take things away from other dogs except in the water. In addition, she won't do this in a pool - only in natural bodies of water like a pond or river. Strange! We have no idea what to do about this - we tried keeping her prong collar on with a long leash and giving her corrections, but it doesn't really seem to take. Any suggestions from Cesar?
Have I gone over the edge?...I own a "Pack Leader" T-shirt
I work from 2:30 pm to 11 pm on Fridays. I'd like to ask whomever can make it happen if...they'd showed the new episode airing at 7 pm again at midnight? I'm on Alaska time. Also, I'd like to ask that the reruns now showing during the week at 10 am be updated to include more recent shows. Thanks. I love the Dog Whisperer. Go Daddy! Woof!
Cesar,
I have worked with dogs most of my adult life and already had viewed dogs much the same as you. However, you have taken it to a whole new level and have taught me so much more! You are amazing and you have even helped me with my own personal outlook on life. I never miss a show and always recommend people your book and show. My question is: how on earth do I get a job working for you!!?? LOL
Much respect,
Sabrina
Ceaser,
Congratulations your 100th show! You are an animals "Special Angel".
How old were you and how did you come about getting into this field?
What advice would you give to someone who wants to get into dog training on how and where they should begin.
Dear Ceasar,
Thank you so much for highlighting the Pitbull breed on your show.As the responsible owners of a beautiful red-nosed pitbull, bella, your show allows people to know it's not the breed it's the owner! I can't wait to watch your next 100 episodes!Thank you from 1 pack leader to another
Congratulations to you, your family and production staff on the 100th episode!
We have a 6 yr old French Brittany, Brianna, who will submissively urinate on a fairly consistent basis whenever our son comes home from school or work. She appears to really like him and will run up to him and greet him, but will urinate. Even if he ignores her in an attempt to let her be use to him being there. Is there something we can do?
Tyson is a 10 yr old Boxer that I rescued about 9 yrs ago...He was used in Dog fights in LA but he was muzzled so he couldnt defend himself...He saw some horrible things happen and has some major issues I cant get rid of...the worst is that I never know who will set him off and make him aggressive..out of 300 people 1 will make him just go CRAZY and no matter what I do I cant control his anger..he will use both front paws and hit the Jeep side window with alllll his body weight to try and break it and get whoever is there and I am afraid he will be succesful one day ...aside from how hard it it to try and stop him in a moving Jeep...He has opened his mouth MANY times to bite but has never as of yet...is there anything I can do I have watched all 100 shows and have tried everything that I saw on aggression and none of them have worked ...Congrats on your success !!!! Julie ...Grants Pass,Oregon
Please make a trip to the midwest... I volunteer at a local shelter that takes pit bulls and some of them need help as they have been at the shelter since they were puppies. We also have a dog at home that needs help! please come to Detroit...I know you hear this all the time but we would love to see you in the motor city... so many dogs here with problems... and with our economy so many people giving up or abandoning their dogs. You have inspired me to work with animals/dogs in need... thank you and hope to see you soon in the motor city
CONGRATS CEASAR!! Every Fri night my husband, myself and three dogs watch the show. The dogs get their weekly grooming and teeth brushing, ear cleaning and once a month nail clipping. They love Friday nights and run up to watch on our big screen tv. Keep the great advice coming.
`a fellow pack leader, Eileen
Our dog is wonderful, her only fault is she licks us. How do we train her to stop licking when she is excited???? We have tried everything.
Ceasar, We LOVE your show. You make everything look so easy but it's not at our house. We adopted a small mix from Katrina about a year ago and cannot get her to go on the potty pads. When she does, which is very rare, I praise her all over the place. She will go outside with our labradoodle and then come in and do her duty on the carpet.. What can we do? We love the little girl but she is ruining our carpet!! Please help
Can a feral puppy rescued at 15 weeks of age be rehabilitated and balanced? I have worked so hard for 9 months but he is still so head shy. I cant catch him to walk him, I dont want to lose the trust I have gained by trapping him. What do you suggest? Thanks, Carrie in Jax. Fl.
Congratulations!!!We love your show and your books.
After exercising our dogs and trying my best to be the pack leader, I still have a problem with aggression in one dog.
Our little 20 lb. dog is "food crazy" and very energetic. Our 50 lb. rescue lab mix is insecure and aggressive towards other dogs, so members of our family only come for short visits because they can't bring their dogs along. Since dog parks are not a good place to learn canine social skills, what can we do?
Am I doing my neighbor's dog a disservice by spending a lot of time with him? I walk the dog almost every day and he often hangs out in our home while they are busy at work, school, etc. We watch him while they are on extended vacations. Where's the problem? He barks constantly at night when he's at home with them outside in the yard. He's never outside alone with us, but most often with them. He just barks, and barks and barks. I feel guilty as I know he can hear us at home but he knows he can't get to us. Should I back off on spending so much time with him? Have a created a problem here?
Hi Ceasar, Congratualions on your 100 episodes. My question to you is, my 6 year old black lab is very hard to control out side, she barks at any one she does not know. I brought one of your collars and she is still doing the same thing. If she knows you, she is as gentle as anything, but, other wise she is barking and pulling to get to the object. What am I doing wrong with her??
Dear Cesar:
I adopted a blind dog from a shelter 3 months ago. She remains very hesitant to walk outside. I drain her energy on the treadmill first, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Any suggestions?
Congrats on the 100th episode celebration! You are truly the best!
Anna
Hey Cesar
HELP!! I have 2 Yorkshire male and female 3 years old They came from Brazil they 're great but 7 month ago the male started pee everywhere I'trying many ways to help him, but it's not working!!! Please Cesar help me and
Congratulations on 100 episodes.... You're the best!!! I love Dog Whisperer!!
Love you
Way to go on your 100th show. I love your show. We adopted a new puppy from the pound a couple months ago. She is a GSD "mix" but I would have to say 99% GSD. I have had these dogs before and know their temperment activity level. When we brought her home she tried the food agressive towards the other two dogs already living here. Toy poodle and a toy fox terrier. Because of you I knew what to do, solved that issue in one session. I have tried to take her to the dog park but she won't do anything other than bark the whole time. She is 7 months old now and getting pretty big. People at the dog park don't like her. I can't blame them. I take her for walks and she is perfect. She only barks like that at the park. I guess she is getting very excited. The last time when she started to bark I took her back out, walked her around, calmed her down, went back in and she started barking. We did this several times and I ended up telling her ok lets go, and took her home. Other than that issue she is a wonderful dog.
I look forward to watching your 100th show.
Sandy, Mystic(7 month GSD), Micro(6 year old toy fox terrier) and Mandy (16 year old toy poodle)
Love your show and your books, love your advise. But nothing seems to work on my 9 year old male (neutered) Miniature Schnauzer. He's very aggressive towards humans & other dogs. He's full of anxiety and circles constantly, even when we go for our twice daily walks. He's bitten several friends and family members. My vet said keep him locked up when people come over. The dog trainer I took him to gave me back my money and told me to put him down??? I can't do that. Help!!!!
Cesar, Congratulations on your 100th Episode!!!
I became curious after a few neighbors asked if I'd ever heard of the "Dog Whisperer" and told me I NEEDED to watch it. About two months ago, quite by accident,I found you on TV and decided to watch. I instantly became an avid watcher of your show and have quickly demonstrated to my Chocolate Lab, Coco (6yrs) & Lab/Husky mix, Dundee (almost 12 yrs.) who the pack leader is. Our pack is a work in progress, we still sometimes have trouble with other dogs while walking or in the dog park, but it gets better every day. I have YOU to thank for that!!
I really enjoy dogs and would like to have a job caring for dogs in some way. I have been saving to attend "Dog Grooming School" even before I began watching your show ( I thought it was a good place to start), but I aspire to help dogs and their owners as you have.
Any suggestions on what training I would need and where to obtain the proper education to work as a dog rehabilitator? I love all dogs and helping them (and their owners) become balanced and happy would be a DREAM job for me.
As long as you produce new episodes, I'll keep watching so I can learn and grow as a Calm Assertive Pack Leader.
Thank you -- you have touched my life in a positive way.
Hi Ceasar,
Congrats on your 100th!!!
I'm curious as to how to keep my lab-pit mix, Copper in the yard?! He is a fence jumper - is invisible fencing the way to go? He is walked daily and he goes on the tread mill when I'm on the elliptical. This goofy boy will do it when I'm home and when I'm away - ideas? I'm afraid he will get hurt - thanks, Deena
Congratulations on 100 shows. Question? I have 2 beautiful Pit Bulls, I have had them for 4 years going on 5 yrs in December. When taking them on walks the male dog (Pistol) in the last year decided that when he sees other dogs he lunges. He wants to go after them. It takes all my strenght to hold him don and to keep walking (moving forward). Could this issue be for the fact that he is not fixed??? Or is it another issue with him. My girl dog 'Pinky' does not show this behavior.
Hi, Cesar.
I met you in San Antonio last December at your presentation. Congrats on 100 great episodes! You have helped us dog people a lot.
My question: Two months ago my husband and I adopted a formerly stray 13 lb. female dachshund/beagle and pug mix from a rural kill shelter. She was heart worm positive. She's now been treated and we have mastered the walk. She has also learned not to "go" in the house. Usually she "goes" on walks. We have a doggy door, but she avoids walking on the grass in our backyard. She sits on the porch or dashes to the dirt area in the flower beds, where she will "go" sometimes.
We have a dominant 14 year old female beagle who uses the backyard via the doggy door for her bathroom breaks. The beagle has not been aggressive with Maggie, but ignores her.
Maggie seems traumatized by the idea of walking in the green grass. At first she had this attitude on walks too, but now she has accepted grass as the potty place on walks.
I am trying to desensitize her by rewarding with treats when she ventures into the grass. So far it's slow going.
I'm not sure what's keeping her out of the grass, but my plan now is to work on this consistently and patiently.
Other suggestions?
Thanks,
Catherine
Congratulations Cesar!! Love to watch and have learned so much!!
Everything is helping so much with my doberman - except for one major flaw. I can't keep him out of the trash cans and wastebaskets! As soon as he's alone, the trash is spread all over!
MONSOON SEASONS - HELP! We have a 9 1/2-year-old Golden Retriever who has been through service classes with myself as I am a quadriplegic. Besides her very laid-back virture that is common for Goldens she has always had only one fear that we have not been able to control and whereby it can be destructive to both the carpet and herself. Thunderstorms! She turns into a different dog and does not even recognize her name or any of her commands. She paws the carpet incessantly or goes directly for wires! We have watched almost all Cesar's episodes but I have not seen one when it comes to not being able to control mother nature or thunderstorms -- especially in the middle of the night! We are ALWAYS very calm and assertive with her to no avail. And have tried numerous, common sense, ways to stop this unwanted behavior without success. HELP in Tucson AZ! Lori
Hello,
I have what some people classify as a "yapper". She barks at every noise, person, and especially dogs that we pass on our walk. She'll even bark when she's laying submissively on her back (hands-free).
I can't be too firm with her as she's missing a front leg, was attacked by a dog who shattered her pelvis, has developed luxating patellas in both her back knees, and has severe arthritis on one side of her pelvis. She's just less than three years of age and only weighs 6.5 pounds. Can you please help? She deserves to be a calm, submissive dog, but everything I've tried (including hiring a "behavioral specialist") hasn’t worked.
I'm concerned she'll injure herself further since she gets so excited around any stimulation.
Thanks for your consideration.
Sarah
Cesar,
Congrats on your 100th show! It's the best dog educational show there is. My question is: Have you considered having your books translated into Spanish?
Rose Lisboa
I know that you discourage 'humanizing' our dogs but I havea question for you...Do you believe that our dogs 'know that they are loved/we love them'?
i have a Canaan dog that likes to "herd" my pot belly pig around. sometimes it turns into some kind of game that i do not care for between the two. my dog nips the pig all over trying to get him to run. then the pig usually turns around & faces off with the dog. after they both run in circles for few seconds the chase begins. i worry about one of them getting hurt. the dog stops the behaviour when I'm near by but when they are at the other end of the yard, the dog starts in again. will i have to resort to some kind of shock collar. maybe a collar that sprays citronella instead? would rather not use either one.
Hi Cesar,
CongRATS on your 100 show! (I have a Service Rat)
We have a Blind and Deaf 70 lb. exuberent, happy, Austrailain Shepherd mix. How can we best communicate to him from a distance? Is it OK to try to teach him not to use his mouth? I don't want to take away his only way to explore his world, but my arms are getting bruised and we have a grandbaby arriving any day!
Thanks
Dani
First off I must say that I absolutely love your show and on many an occassion I cry when I watch because I am so overwhelmed with how you help the dogs. It is just so wonderful! Any plans on comng to New York? I have 2 wonderful dogs with 2 different personalities and individual problems...A 5 year old mastiff mix that I believe have fear/nervous based aggression...has bitten people before so he must constantly be separated when we have company which absolutely breaks my heart. He otherwise is such a loving mushy dog that I love more than anything. I also have a 5 yr old shep mix that is very domineering. He gets along with my other dog but will noy allow the other dog to receive any affection. he will come tearing down the stairs if he hears my big dog getting rubbed and the big dog just runs away. My mastiff will not listen to be if the shep comes between us. If I call the mastiff to me the shep will 'herd' him out of the room. Please come to New York soon! We all need you!
Hi and congraulations on such success!!!
My question is about my foster dog. I have a 2 yr old Siberian Husky that is very mouthy. She jumps up and nips my arms, I always have bruises from her. I have tried holding her down which seems to make her very aggitated and more determined. As soon as I let her up, after she has calmed down, she's right back at me. So back down she goes, only to do the same thing each time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I cannot let her be adopted out with her mouthiness.
Sincerely,
Bev
Cesar, what is the best way to handle a strange dog charging and barking fiercly at you when you are walking your dog on a leash? The charging dog was NOT fenced in.
First Congratulations Cesar to you and your family! I am carefully spreading the word “calm assertive energy”! Truly you are an inspiration to my 8-year-old cousin and me and everyone else in the world.
But I do have a question, my dog goes crazy when it comes to food, I try not to give him his food until he is “calm submissive” but it feels almost impossible…
Also my mom said she caught him pulling the draw open with his mouth (I think he did this thinking he would find food)… The draw is heavy! I do give him long walks in the morning and he is "calm submissive"… He has a “food obsession” what can I do? Please help (FYI he is very healthy)!
Regards from New York we love you!
I have watched the dog whisperer for years. Many people even consider me a go to person for dog training advice because of how well behaved my american staffordshire terrier is. But she is coming up on 5 years old and has begun to be an escape artist. She has opened windows and jumped through them. I have built a kennel for you (she ate her way through a metal one when we first adopted her). My question is, what is the best way to kennel train an older dog with separation anxiety? She has to be in there for 8 hours while i am at work. I NEED help! she is injuring herself when she tried to chew her way out but can't.
I have a 6 month old Bernese Mountain Dog. I am not against barking dogs but do have a problem with unneccessary barking. What is the most effective way to deal with unwanted barking? We have tried saying "NO", loud noises to distract, ignoring him....nothing does the trick......help!
Congrats on the 100th episode!!
We have 4 pitbulls and recently, well, like 2 years ago our oldest male has become red zone aggressive against other dogs. We can no longer take family day to the park nor can we walk him anymore in fear of him biting. He once lunged out to bite the butt of a runner jogging by. How do we change this redzone case pitbull and make him the adoring dog he once was toward other dogs. I can not recall any incidents which would have caused his temperment to change, I can however remember when he was 6 months old he was attacked as well as I by a chow. Sincerely, and again, congrats, Diana
First, like many others, I'd like to congratulate you on your 100th Episode! I'm a "latecomer" to your show, but I bet I've seen all of them now.
In April we rescued a Dalmatian. Of course he came with some issues and the behavior techniques I learned from your show, along with some training ideas learned from Victoria Stillwell, he's coming along extremely well. We're very pleased.
However, we still have two issues to be worked out. One, he is terrified of thunderstorms, to the point we've had to resort to Valium if at night just so we can sleep. Is there another way?
The second is other dogs. He's great with people and even does well walking down the alley if the other dogs are behind a fence. But if the other dog is on a leash or loose, he goes after them.
Since I'm pretty sure you aren't coming to Kansas anytime soon, just some helpful advice would be nice! He WILL be starting AKC in two weeks, so hopefully that might help socialize him.
Thanks for at least considering the questions and again congratulations!
Hello Cesar,
My question is "do you believe that dogs become conditioned to being approached in the wrong manner and then accept that as normal?
I ask this question because I have always had a way with dogs and cats and never had any problems when meeting a friends pet etc.. I noticed that since I have been watching your show-I have seen all your episodes and read both books- I approach or try to approach the way you have taught us and I get mixed reactions sometimes. It seems that some dogs are wary of the no touch, talk or eye contact rule, as they are normally not used to that and seem to think I am off my rocker becuase I did not approach with a hello puppy how are you ? oh how beautiful etc... But when I and others approach the dogs in what I would call in todays society "normally" they do not have a problem with that.
Could you please give us your thoughts on that?
Thanks so much. You have been such a big help to my family and others. I have actually helped some friends and co-workers with their pets by oding what you have taught us and try to pas it on. Keep up the good work. By the way, even though my wife and I are GSD owners and lovers, we have had a pit bull,we love the fact that you are really teaching America not to stereo type the breed anf that they are just as loyal, trusting and wonderful of a pet as any other dog-of course you must be pack leader though as with any strong breed. Our Pitty was awesome and we never had any problems with him. He loved people and other dogs. He was protective, but knew when to turn it on and when not to.
Cesar, our dominant 5 mo old female English shepherd pup does not respond much to the touch or to a quick jerk-release on the leash. Easily distracted. Suggestions ? Linda, Columbus, NC
i love dogs!! but i was attacked by a German Sheperd one day without my provacation. what do i do if a dog comes at me again? it is hard not to be afraid. i walk and run a lot, but am always nervous about being attacked again. your show is by far the best show on TV. thanks Cesar for your great insights and wisdom!!!
I have to be one of the people who truly admire what you do. There is no doubt as to the good you bring to millions of dog lovers, But I have a question, are you ever amazed as to how ignorant people are when it comes to there dogs and there up bringing. Its a good thing most of them dont raise there children like they do thier dogs.
Hello
I have a beagle basset cross that will not listen to me I keep on trying to be calm and assertive but he doesn't listen. When I come inside from feeding him because he is not house broken he always tries to break in or later break out. We try to take him for walks but he always nearly yanks our arms off. When he breaks in here refuses to go out. He will go under a chair or table and just sit there. We can never get him to calm down. He also has a very severe case of being afraid of water. We can never get him to willingly take a bath. We usually have to put a leash on him to bath him. I am always calm and assertive when trying to come in side but all he does is when I touch the door is run up I’ve got it where I can just get to the top step then he runes up and just opens the screen door and waits. Please help me be able to get inside with out the hassle.
Sincerely
Craig
congratulations, Cesar!! you deserve that Emmy!! you have the best show on TV!!!
Hi Cesar,
Congratulations on your 100th episode! I won't even attempt to describe the indescribable regarding your teachings except...Thank you.
I have more of a request than a question. Is there anyway I can get you involved in somehow passing a law? Before adopting a dog in a shelter or having your dog licensed with the city you live in...Why not make it law and therefore mandatory to undergo the education of what it takes to own a dog by watching a tape of your dog psychology and techniques.
I feel that having the education of your teachings made mandatory and law will change the world!
With gratitude,
Shay Benitez
Love you and your show !!! How do I get my one year old giant schnauzer (Hooch) to stop eating things he shouldn't ( snow glove, rocks, etc.) HELP ??
Dear Ceasar,
I was in a very bad accident last December. After 8 months of recovery, I was very fortunate to find another job. I couldn't get any closer to home other than working from my house. The dogs do not seem to like the idea, and my youngest lassie-dog of 3 years old has started chewing up clothes again. He is so excited to have me home, I can hardly make it through the door. My big girl, mix german shepherd and wolf, nearly mows me down, and ran to the street to jump on me while I was getting out of the car one day. My gentleman, and oldest collie meanders over last and is muscled out by the youngest. I think they are afraid I won't come home anymore since I was in the hospital for such a long time. I'm hoping it will get better. Regards, Kathleen, Stone, Timbre, and River.
From reading the posts, it looks as though you should do a road trip to NEW YORK. I too, am in New York...please help us and make a trip here. The Adirondacks are beautiful! My Bernese will love it as will I! Bring Daddy with you!
I have a 2 year old spayed German Shepherd Dog who is very fearful and anxious especially around large dogs and unfamiliar people (among other things). Other dogs seem to immediately pick up on her nervous energy and she has become a target. She has been attacked by other dogs several times in various settings. Now I have become nervous with her around other dogs which I am sure doesn't help. I catch myself tightening her leash and getting tense at the sight of another dog. My question is, how do I leave behind my own fear of her being attacked again and how do I help her become a more confident dog? Everyone I have asked so far has said it is genetic and there is nothing I can do. At this point I no longer enjoy taking her for walks as I am afraid she will get hurt. I have even started avoiding training classes with other big dogs as one attack occured during an agility class. My goal in owning a dog is to include her in all family activities and continue showing and earning titles. I don't want to believe there is nothing I can do but sometimes I think of giving up on her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I have four dogs, one is a small poodle named Brutus. When I get ready to leave for work in the morning he starts barking frantically in the face of one of the other dogs and gets very loud like he is talking to her but won't be quiet when I try to shussh him. I have tried to grab him and calm him down but he is very fast and fiesty. Why is he doing that and what can I do to make him stop this behaviour? It is very loud and irritating to everyone in the house who are still sleeping.
My daughter rescued a mix breed (pit bull & ?). He passed all his tests at the New York A.S.P.C.A., even for agression. He was starved and tied to a door knob with his sister and we do not know what else happened to him. His sister whom they had to put to sleep because her agression was severe. Her brother "Einstein" that we now have living with us has gotten severely agressive and now we have to wire muzzle him or put him in his crate. This behavior was not seen for months after he was adopted. What should we do? He is a very loving dog with our family, loves other dogs but absolutely will maim someone if given the chance. We know he is insecure & scared because his tail goes underneath him and we even brought him out to Ed Reyes here in Central Florida who trains all the police k-9's and he agreed that he is a very insecure and scared dog and feels he needs to attack out of fear. He deserves so much to be content and like you always say, calm & submissive so he can learn that no one is going to hurt him anymore.
My question for Cesar is: How does it make you feel to see what a difference you've made in a short time not only to America's canines, but America's humans. Practicing calm assertive energy and staying focused helps me with my dogs, kids, husband, work, finances, etc. I hear frequently the same from many others. I wonder if your original dream included make such a huge difference to the species human?
Sincerely and with much gratitude,
Deb Gibbs

Hello, I really enjoy your shows. I have a yellow lab, well his more white than yellow...anyway he sheds so much it's driving me crazy. I love my dog and he's very smart. Other than his shedding he is the perfect dog. My husband and I brush him every day. And I vacuum twice a day. Could you please tell me how to stop him from shedding so much.
Thank you for your help.
I have a 7 year old male Boxer named Quigley with NO bad habits as a matter of fact I'm always telling Quigley that I'm going to call Ceasar and have him come over and give you some bad habits that I can complain about. This isn't really a problem, but he has no interest in being a watch or guard dog of any kind. people can walk right up to the door and he does not react at all. his hearing is fine he just is not inclined to protect his or our space. When all the dogs in the area are going crazy barking he just sleeps right through the thing. I guess I should consider myself lucky that he doesn't bark is he just lazy? Thanks.
I know I don't have a chance of getting my question answered what with the thousands of replies. So, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your 100th episode. I am a faithful watcher and have your books. I have learned much from your advice and I wish you and your family all the best. Can't wait for the next 100 episode!
I have a Golden Retriever that is very strong. I even can't take him for a walk.He is obedience but you would not know it. I had four trainers work with him. He is just stubborn. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I have a Jack Russell Terrier and a Chihuahua. They get out regularly and I take them for long walks every nite.
My problem is that my JRT randomly attacks certain dogs. Most dogs she plays with very well, but the odd dog that she meets she goes completely off side and tries to attack!! It really seems like there are some dogs that she likes, and some she just doesn't like. I haven't figured out if she is seriously trying to hurt the other dog, or if it is more a dominance thing.
I have tried many different techniques with her and have paid several hundred dollars for training with no answers for this particular problem. I have no more trainers to turn to in my area. She is very well behaved other than this. Ceasar, can u help?
Best Wishes, and congrats on 100 episodes! That is a lot of dogs that have been helped!
Lisa
Hi! My ability to help dogs has been 10 fold since you release your TV series. I have your CD's and have listened to them many times. There is a lot of data. As a results I have a lovely pack of 4 dogs all different breeds including a pit bull that is very kind and loving. I also rescue dogs off the streets in my area. I am able to bring them into my pack, get them socialized and then find them a new home if I can not locate their owners.
What I would like to know is would someone like me ever be able to volunteer to work for you and learn even more from being in your space and working with your pack?
Mya
I have a 2 year old male, neutered, Miniature Dachshund. He is 90% house-broken but the other 10% he is being sneaky and hiking on objects in the house. How do I get him to stop doing this? He's really good for a few days and then reverts back to being a sneaky Doxie again. I have a female, spayed, Yorkie also - could she be most of the reason he does this? They were both neutered and spayed at 6 months of age.
Congrats for showing the world that the human and dog can exist happily. I have been hoping to see Ceasar work with a deaf dog. I have one and have been struggling with training her and pretty much given up. she is part of my pack of 6 and after two years pretty much has a mind of her own. I don't feel that there is enough training information available for the consumer to research. But one thing I do know for sure - just because your dog has a handicap is no reason to put them down.
Congratulations Ceasar and the Dog Whisperer Team! Simba (my 95-lb, 2-year old labrador) and I tune-in every Friday night. I am interested in purchasing Caesar's illusion collar but I can't recall seeing him use it with any of the show's cases. Does anyone have any experience with this collar?
Thanks!
Cesar and Crew congrats on the 100th episode! Hope all goes well. I was wondering as a small time dog trainer/walker/pet sitter here on the East Coast(Boston) how does one get successful? Essentially what I'm saying is that my big dream is to have a dog shelter/ rehab center somewhat similar to what you have. Just minus the TV show. We really need it out here! Any pointers?
Much love and Congrats to Cesar and The Dog Whisperer Team! Thank you for all your enlightenment on a Dog's World!
My town has opened up a dog park. I had my dalmatian/black lab mix 3 yr. old there today. She was a shelter dog with an abusive past. I've had her almost two years and put her into intensive training which has worked wonders BUT she is still a dog. She seem to get a long with small dogs much better then large and is an alpha dog (I think). She was doing really well today playing with three small dogs and a wheaton terrior. Two male mixed breeds came in not the same breed but living in the same household. In a second my dog and one of the two males were in a serious fight. My dog was flipped by the other and then my dog had that dog by the top of his neck bitting very hard with snarling and growling. My dog looked like a dog from hell. She had blood in her mouth when it was over but it wasn't hers. The other owners couldn't find blood on their dog but it had long hair. I want to bring my dog to the dog park but how do I control this? Other dogs like the one today can start the fight. I'm not sure if it has to do with being the alpha or something else. It took a very long time for my dog to be submissive with me. She will not be submissive with the larger dogs. She is so sweet with the smaller dogs too. What should I do and why do you think fights like this happen? Please respond. I can't get your show on t.v.. So sad. I miss it.
Michelle
Congratulations with the 100th episode!! I am from the Netherlands and do you know how difficult it is to get your DVD's???? Most of them are region 1, so I bought a new (all region)DVD player!! Question: Why do small dogs like to "sit" on other dogs? My Chihuahua and Jack Russell both like to sit on our other dogs (shepherds & border collies) The dogs don't mind them doing that. Is this dominance behaviour or is it just because they like the warmth? The JR likes to sit on my feet as well.
Do keep up the good work and bring my love to your family!!

Ceasar, my daughter loves watching your show. Your love for animals and people is truly inspiring and refreshing.
I adopted a German Shephard from the Humane Society in March. She looked so sad and in need of a loving family that I was compelled to bring her home. I chose to keep her inside because she was so skinny that I didn't think she could handle the cold nights. She is the clingiest dog I have ever owned! Wherever I was she had to be. If I had to leave for a few minutes she would act depressed (according to my girls) until I got home. When the weather became warmer I moved her outside thinking this may help her become more adjusted. Since she has been an outside dog, she whines and cries whenever she sees me or family members. We firmly but calmly tell her to sit and shush and after she calms down we will give her affection. Still after 6 months of consistant redirection she has the same the behavior.
What else can I do to help her become an emotionally stable dog.
Thanks for your time and insight.

Our ranch in located on 45 acres surrounded by a stream. We have worked diligently with our herding dogs but we have not been to train our youngest Australian Shepherd to NOT chase deer. We have used sonic trainers as well as shock collars without luck. If she sees or hears something that she feels is an invasion, she is gone. The biggest problem is that our “now three legged” Aussie follows her and gets mired down in the beaver ponds and we are afraid that she will drowned. The dog with the three legs ended up that way due to the younger dog running her into a tree when they were taking off on a chase.
Additionally, she brings home coyotes as playmates. HELP!
HI Ceasar and Dog whisper team congratulations. I have a two year old Chihuahua, i am still having a hard time socializing him with new people. He barks and them and won't let them get near him do you have any suggestions.
Thanks Melanie
We have a lab, jack russell terrier, a two year old daughter, and a boy due in November, needless to say it's one packed house. Our JRT gets along fine with our daughter, it's our lab that seems to growl at her non-stop. He doesn't show his teeth and the growling is kind of muffled, but it scares us none the less. We have tried excercise and correcting him, but nothing seems to work, what are we missing? How do we correct this problem and prepare for our baby boy coming in a couple of months?
Congratualtions on all you've accomplished and we look forward to seeing more people trained and more dogs rehabilitated.
Thanks, Rector Family
Congratulations Cesar, on this well deserved milestone!
I foster dogs with both behavioral & medical problems for the local Humane Society. My question to you is ~ Have you ever had a dog "give up the fight" and release/relax to the point of having a seizure? This happened to me once with a puppy mill survivor. It took me hours to get him out of the shelter and onto the lawn. When he finally gave it all up he had a violent seizure. A Vet check showed all was good and he never had another seizure. He was rehabilitated, adopted, and is going great. I've just always been curious if anything like this has ever happened to you?

How do you handle the critics out there? There are so many different ways on how to make a dog behave. Some people agree with what you do an dome don't.
My husband has been away for 2 months now and our female 3 yrs old Scottie, Millie misses him very much. I have noticed she is alittle more protective of her things. The wrong things. You know, the things she picks up and knows she should not have. The children (16, 14, 11)try to take them and she nips. She does not do this with me. I have always been the main person in her life for training and walks and such. She just misses him.
We have a 2-1/2 year old submissive Border Collie mix, Penny, and a 4 month old dominant Border Collie mix, Floyd. We took Penny with us when we picked out Floyd, but now that we've been living together for a couple months, they seem not to get along the best. Floyd tends to 'terrorize' Penny. He nips and barks at her all the time and jumps on up on her. We are constantly telling him 'off' and trying to keep them on the same level, but he invariably is dominant over her. What can we do? We don't want Penny to be miserable and we don't want Floyd thinking he can own Penny. He listens to us when we break them up but is constantly testing her. Please help!!
I'm in school right now to become a trainer because of Cesar!
Keep up the good work, Cesar. Hope I can do the same here on the east coast when I'm finished with school.

I have watched each of your 100 episodes each time they air. YOU are my HERO! The rottie we got 9 years ago has been a big challenge, but since you came along his behavior is much better. And now that I know what I'm doing my newly adopted dogs are so wonderful, socialized, playful and (mostly) obedient - they are a pure joy. Thank you for the enlightenment which has added to the fulfilling relationship we have with our pets (and they with us)! Rock on Milan. Looking forward to your next 100 shows!
Ceasar Congrats on your 100th episode. Here's my dilemma. We have a 5 month old American Bulldog. He has a fixation with me but will bite and nip at me when I try to discipline him. My husband however, just has to tell him once and he basically obeys him.,except when it comes to being near me. If I walk in the room, our puppy will defy anyone to get near me. I spend more time with the puppy, yet I don't understand why he won't listen to me when I am trying to discipline him. Does he view me as a playmate? Help? When are you coming to Illinois?
As a fellow hispanic, I am so appreciating your success.
My question is this: My 15 month male rescue Catahoula is a sweetheart in everyway: loves everyone, loves dogs, kids, etc.
However, when another dog has a treat or takes his toy, he grabs them by the neck, growls at them and holds them down. He has never bitten yet, but it is scary. And I'm afraid he will bite, someday. He will stop only if I grab his collar and separate him. Then, I have to take the toy or treat away from sight.
The toys can be all over the floor as long as the other dog doesn't take it.
But with food, it is different.
thanks, Cindy
The best to you, I have all your works.
So tell me why I can not get our labadoole
to stop junping on people. I have had three trainers and not one could stop him.
Plese help.

My dog Maximus is a Terrier mix. He is about 20 lbs, so he's a smaller dog. I really want to know how to break him of his "small dog" syndrome. I think he would need to be a member of a pack with larger dogs. I would love to find out how he could spend time with Ceasar's balanced pack. Maximus gets terribly viscous with larger dogs and I am not able to ensure his safety. Are there options for him to stay at the compound, or Ceasar's ranch to get used to larger dogs? That would be my most important question for Ceasar, Thanx!!
We just adopted a 2-YO Teddy Roosevelt Rat Terrier, and what a lovie she is......but she came from an abusive home, and the only problem that she has is that it is 'hit or miss' sometimes when it comes to bathroom time. She will go a week or so with not having accident in the house, but at other times, I will find a piddle mark or poo pile in a corner......do you have any suggestions so as to help her be consistent in going outside without her feeling 'abused' anymore?
Thanks much.
Tammy
Thank you so much for educating the world! I know that seams so simplistic- but I am a certified obedience trainer and you would not believe how many people tell me that they know what I am talking about because they watch your show. I always respond with "YES!!" You have made my job so much easier. People believe me when I tell them that dogs don't understand run on sentences because they have heard you say it. They would have never just believed me. For that (and many more) I thank you.
Now- my question... have you ever studied CAT PSYCHOLOGY?? Since you have mastered the dog mind, please study up on the cat. I am also the founder of a no-kill shelter and we have several cats that really need some help. I am anxiously awaiting.

once again, CONGRATS on your 100th show, your show is #1 in my book!!!
Cesar:
I have 2 red zone dogs. I was told they would never be able to be together again, but I had faith in them, your techniques, and God. After 6 months of keeping them separated and slowly working them back together, I can now leave them together at home all day without fear of them fighting. My question is, although they get along with each other now, I still have trouble with them running to the fence and acting like they want to destroy anything and anybody on the other side. Suggestions on what to do next?
Thanks, Jerri
My older Golden Retriever, Betsy, has absolute distain for a neighboring Great Dane/Mastif mix. Every day the "white horse," as we call him, comes literally pawing at our sliding glass door. Betsy goes balistic and charges the door etc. We are trying the calm assertive energy along with claiming the area in front of the door, but she is unbelievble!
The owner of the "white horse" is NOT responsible. We use to leash the horse and take him home, but now he runs from us. To top it all off, the "white horse" is deaf and it is very hard to communicate anything to him. Any ideas???????
I really appreciate the methods used in the Dog Whisperer. Ceasar you are amazing!
Hi Cesar,
First off, we love your show, we even named our puppy after you!
Our question is this: We are about to pick up an 8 week old boster terrier from a well reputable breeder, what are the most important things we can be teaching our puppy at this young of an age, so that we can be the "pack leaders"?
I have a 2year loving boxer named Joey, who likes to jump on people. I would like to make him stop that behavior. Need help! Thanks > Alfonso
Cesar....Congratulations!!! You are not only a true inspiration to all Latinos worldwide, but to all people who love animals and follow the rules of mother nature. It just makes so much sense and I love that not only are you bringing that message to the world, but also your sprituality and your integrity. You are my inspiration and I am proud of you....Con mucho carino, Rebeca Ana Rodriguez
Learning the calm assertive training method has helped me not just with my dogs but it works on my horses as well!! I am the "herd leader" and I follow the exercise, discipline and affection method with all my pets.
Thank you Cesar! You are my hero.
Way to go Cesar!! Your the best
When I first started watching your show I had one dog, now I have five.
They all walk great on the leash, when its only one or two of them (depending on the combination), but all five of them together can get pretty crazy. When something distracts one of them, it is a chain reaction. I manage to get them under control, eventually, but it is a workout. I would love too be able too walk all of my dogs together as a well balanced pack.
Did I mention they are all fairly large? I have a Border Collie/Aussie, a Cattle Dog/Aussie, a Kelpie, a Dalmation/Aussie (who is deaf) and last but certainly the largest, a 130 lb. Great Pyrenees.
Insane? Yep! But I am determined to walk my five dogs proudly through the neighborhood with my head held high!
HELP
Thank You for everything you do.
Jami
Congrats C-e-a-s-e-r!!! :)
We have an 11-month old neutered female Mastiff who is such a sweetheart. The problem is that she becomes aggressive at certain dogs ... lunging at them when we are on walks .... She also gets somewhat aggressively vocal when we are going for a ride in our pickup at oncoming traffic. Is this just a protection thing? She has been in puppy courses and, also, I bought the Illusion collar which is awsome, but I would like her to totally stop this behavior.
Thank you and again you're grrreat!
Sallie Jo Gorman
Congratulations Caesar!!!
I have a Tibetan Terrier that we rescued from a shelter at the age 31/2 months old. He now is 21/2 years old. He is perfect in every way (took us a long time to train). The only thing we do not like is when anyone comes over he wants to jump,he gets so excited, he loves people and other animals. He loves to stand on his hind legs and does a dance. How do we break his habit when people come to visit. It takes him a few minutes to calm down and then he is good. Thank you. Emily
I love all of your shows and Daddy is my favorite dog of all. I rescued Lola, a pit bull with one blue eye when she was 8 weeks old from the Reno Shelter and really don't have any problems with her but I wish I could adopt another one because no one wants them, but amm afraid that Lola wouldn't share me well. I have a rescued lab/Chesapeake who weighs 120 pounds and he sleeps on the floor and Lola, 14 months old sleeps with me. Jake can handle himself with her because he is so big. Some times she wants to play rough with him but he just barks at her. I wish I had a pool because if she gets in a pond she will swim in circles and I can't get her attention and she won't come out and eventually I panic and think she's gonna drown and then she comes out. Should I buy an above ground pool for her for next summer? Can't for the life of me get her on the tread mill I bought for her.
Congradulations, on your 100th episode. I love them all.I have always wanted to know how do you keep a place with so many dogs order free. I have three dogs and no matter what I do it always smells.
Dear Dear Cesar,
You have been blessed by the Lord Jesus to know dogs and train people and I think it is absolutely wonderful. My grandchildren all want to call you and ask you to come help our over excited 2 year old Golden, Rosie.
I pray for you.
Claudia Jarvis has seen every program, loved the one with the 2 Goldens that wore you out, just shows you are one of us. Smile. Claudia
Can't express in enough words what a super informative series the Dog Whisperer is...I've learned a lot but still have one major issue I can not seem to resolve...my shelter dog of three years still gets very anxious and aggressive when he hears, sees other dogs...he especially goes after much BIGGER dogs than himself!! I truly think he has a death wish...HELP!!! Thank you again Cesar for the great job and service you provide to the dogs and their "humans"!!!! BRAVO!!!
Dear Caesar - I'm a huge fan from Melbourne, Australia. I'd like to know whether you intend to educate council/state dog pounds with your methods that obviously work above all other methods. So many dogs can be saved by implementing some of your simple methods. Do you have a vision of spreading the word within the US and worldwide? Rose
I am wondering how you slipped from dog training to a television personality. CAROLJ
There are very few people in this world who deserve our love and respect. Cesar Milan is one of those few. I wish you 10,000 more episodes of the Dog Whisperer Cesar. Even people who don't have a dog watch your show.
Continued success Cesar,
Barbara
Congratulations on the 100th t.v. episode of Dog Whisperer. Thank you for your show and teaching me how to train my dogs.
My question is how do you housebreak a three year old beagle? Sometimes she will go to the bathroom outside and then most times not! She walks, exercises, runs and plays every day however she will come inside the house and relieve herself. What can I do to get her to go to the bathroom outside when she is suppose to? My husband and I have her on a feeding schedule and a bathroom schedule. It isn't working. Thank you for any advice!
Marilyn
Hey Millans....Congrats on 100 and keep them coming!
Here's a question that if anyone would have an answer to, it would be you...why do dogs roll in things that stink? I have a dog that is constantly finding things to roll in. Doesnt' matter if it's a dead animal or a pile of poop...the more it stinks, the more she rolls. It's so disgusting!!! I've even tried chaining her up in our fenced-in yard. She wraps herself around the porch pole, wriggles out of her collar and over the fence she goes. I put her in a harness; she jumped the fence and nearly hung herself to death. Any suggestions?
Congratulations! I've been watching from the beginning and it's helped so much w/my coonhound rescue, Prudence. The biggest issue I have w/her is the lack of restraint, but we're dealing w/it.
thank you for all you've done for the rescues too!
Theresa
Cesar - what would you recommend on treating a dog with barrier frustration?
Congradulations on your 100th show - its great.
my question is... my bullmastiff X Staffy over the past few months, seems to be stealing food during the night or if we go out and leave him in the house when we go out for a few hours, even though he is feed a rather large meal at night. I think the food he steals is weird... he take sugar, butter, bread and in the pasta he has taken uncooked pasts, uncooked cocous. He either take food from the bench of get in and takes it from the cupboard. I am not really sure how to address this because we don't see him do it, and also i am not sure why he might be doing this and what i could do to try stop this.
Cesar, you make me and our Mexican people very proud. Thank you for being a down to earth person and for truly helping dogs understanding what the problem is. My question is- How do I make my dog be calmer around young children? She is fine with my 7 year old niece and respects her but when it comes to my 1 and 2 year old niece and nephew she gets a little hyper around them. Thanks again and God bless you and your family always :)
I never miss a show if I can help it. Cesar is my hero.I took in a 4 year old lab 2 years ago that had some issues. By practicing what Cesar recommended this dog has turned into a wonderful dog. She is now friendly, relaxed, and secure. BUT she is a terrible food thief. I have never seen this issue addressed. If I leave the house and forget to lock up the trash, she will always get into it. Once she got into the bin where I keep her food and ate so much she was lucky she didnt die. She wont steal anything if I am around, but if I am not and she can, she will. Usually I remember to keep everything out of her reach, but once in a while I mess up. Is there anything I can do to break this habit?
Congrats Caesar,
Through you, we have all learned so much about the behavior of dogs, You inspire positive, fair treatment of dogs from people and dogs with people.
I have had great success with following your methods
for this I thank you & your family too!.
Mas
Best wishes for your 100th episode. Hope you have 100 more. I always watch your shows. I was wondering if you can help me? I just got a 5 month old pomeranian and was told it was partially trained to go outside. Well it's not. I spent the last 4 days outside with the dog at least 45 minutes each time, at least 6-7 times a day and when I finally had enough and go inside he poops in the house. I am loosing my patience. What can I do? Can you give me any direction?
Dear Cesar,
I have a few questions. But first let me tell you our routine with our dog Bandit ( he is a mix of Boston Terrier and Norwegian Elkhound ). I am up at 3:30 a.m. I get ready for work, go downstairs and let Bandit out of his crate ( he sleeps in a crate and is in the crate when we are not home ). I don't have alot of time in the morning, so he only gets about 15 minutes outside. I am out the door at 4:45 a.m. Needless to say he does not take care of all of his business in the morning all of the time. He wants to sniff and look around. When I bring him back inside I give him a little food and water ( he does have to sit for his food ). Should I be giving him food in the morning without the exercise ? My next issue is: I get home about 3:00 p.m. I take Bandit in the yard so he can do his business, then we walk for 20 to 45 minutes or I ride the bike with him for about 15 to 30 minutes. At first I was letting him play with his ball before the walk or ride. But now he walks or rides first. Am I doing the right thing now ? I am concerned when I take Bandit for a bike ride. When I first start out on the bike he wants to bite my foot or leg. What am I doing wrong ? I keep him to the left side of the bike, away from the chain so I can operate the brake. He seems fine and happy after I get him running. One more issue I would like to address is: Bandit likes to jump alot !! ON everyone and anything !! We tell him off and he doesn't always listen. We use a spray bottle with water. Is this a good thing to do ?
P.S. We are enjoying the sessions on your website.
CONGRATULATIONS on the 100th. Thanks for this opportunity.

Dear Ceasar..
God Bless you on your 100th show!!
I have leaned so very much from you..
I have 2 rescue greyhounds.. Jarret he will be 7 in Oct and Designer who is 10.. When jarrett first came home he went up and down the steps with no problem then one day he just stopped:<( I tried everything, to get him to come up treat, one leg at a time with the leash, without the leash, even ran through the house as you did with the dog that was afraid of shiney floors.. NOTHING WORKS.. will you please help..Thank-you for all lives that you have saved and the knowledge that you have shared,
GOD Bless..

Hi Cesar,
My wife and I are moving to Japan from L.A. and we're (of course) bringing our beloved dog with us. Most airlines no longer allow pets to travel in the cabin, so we will have to crate our dog and check him into the cargo hold. Do you have any advice about how to make this inherently traumatic experience better for our dog?
Thanks so much,
Stephen
Hi Caesar: I need help with my 4 lb. Japanese Chin. He is very lovable and gets along with everyone but when he sees a dog he goes crazy. He is like a cat and he gets down in that cat position and then he just charges and wants to get the other dog. He pulls & grabs his chain, goes in circles and its not a pleasure to take him for a walk. Chins aren't suppose to act like this. They are loving. There are a lot of big dogs around here.I've watched your show & tried everything.I just want to be able to take Andy out and both of us enjoy the walk instead of all the pulling and wanting to fight with other dogs Please help. I'm desperate.
Cesar - congrats on your 100th showing - my question: When a dog has been abused very badly, then rescued and goes to a wonderful home, does the dog ever forget about the abuse suffered as a puppy? My son's African basenji had acid poured on his back, as a puppy, and we feel he still remembers what happened to him 5 years ago and remembers it was kids that did this terrible act to him - he is in a very loving, wonderful home now and he is recovering very well. Thanks for the answer! P. Kimball
Cesar,
You are such an inspiration not only in how you help dogs regain their 'dogness', but also in how you empathetically connect and communicate with their people (as stubborn as some may be)!
How do you stay so well-balanced yourself so that you can exude the calm yet assertive energy that truly embodies the heart of the show and the lessons you teach?
Many thanks and much appreciation!

As a bullmastiff breeder and owner, I occassionally rescue problem bullmastiffs from local shelters or from frantic owners. How do you know when a rescued dog with serious issues like biting is ready to be placed or whether a prospective adopter is the right person? Using your techniques, I can usually rehabilitate the dog rather quickly while I am the owner, but I then I have to decide if the dog is safe for a new home or if this person will be able to control the dog. Any suggestions?
hi cesar! my 10 year old mixed breed dog is afraid of everyone (including my husband) but me. it's causing a huge strain on our marriage. how can i get my dog to stop barking at my husband and not be afraid of him? any info will be appreciated!! thanks much and god bless you.
HELP. I too like others have had people comment how well my dogs behave BUT my female (neutered) pitt bull type mix lunged and snapped at someone. She is very protective (?) she was very nervous and shy as a puppy and I have brought her a long way (as evidenced by the postive comments I get) But how do I make sure she doesnt lunge or snap when someone walks up behind me when I am not looking? I got her a vest that says "dog in training, please give me space" because as long as no one come in her personal space she is fine! But I fear a child will run up too close and she may nip them. She is great with my 11 year old and her friends. It is like a jeckel and hyde!
Congratulations Caesar on your 100th episode. Thank you for all the help you have given me in training my boxer girl from watching your shows. I have been working faithfully with her and it is paying off.
Thanks again and I am looking forward to some new shows.

Can an 8 yr old Weimaraner with a high prey instinct be trained not to attack my cats? Would this also mean that the dog could kill the cats?
Let me start with tthe fact that I love the show I have not missed an episode and never plan on it, I even sit down and watch re-runs when they are on. I plan on getting in to dog phsycology for a living when I graduate. I have started helping people I know with their dogs behavioral problems. I currently have a job at a kennel and we sometimes encounter aggressive dogs, because my boss depends on me so much I am normally one of the few who handle them. I was wondering if you had any tips on how I should approach them and handle them? I often don't have much time to move a dog from on place to another either so what ways would be better for both the dog and I while being time efficient?
Cesar,
Thank you for your outstanding show! My question for you is about the leash law her in my city of Washington DC. I run into many dog owners that refuse to leash up their dogs. They walk up and down the side walks next to traffic and pedestrians refusing to follow the law, and get mad at me for even suggesting to them it would be best for their dogs. What should I say to convince these people how much the dog really need to be on the leash without getting yelled at. Please let the viewers know how important this issue is, thank you.
I have a boxer who is 2 years old and very dog aggressive. He is not scared or afraid, but wants to kill other dogs. He has brought blood before when he has fought. He was neutered around 4 months ago, but it didn't seem to help. I've tried to socialize him at the dog park because he use to be okay with dogs, until around 1 year old. But, he just wants to hurt other dogs. My questions is what should I do? The area were I live their isn't any behavorist trainers available. Can be please give me advice, I don't know what to do anymore. Thank you.
Congrats on the achivement! Love watching your show. Have a question I have a 2yr old Boxer who loves to jump and push me when he sees me when I get home from work and is very much afrad of males, when ever a male friends of ours comes over he growls and braks at them. He did this to my husband when he was a pup. we got him at 4m old. What should I do? Agien GREAT WORK KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!
Best wishes for another few hundred episodes.
All I wanted was a "Cesarized" puppy...I got one thanks to Cesar's Way. And became "Cesarized" too.
Thank you for sharing and caring enough to help us have balanced dogs-lives.
God Bless you.

Cesar,
Love your show!! Question for you....is it o.k. for my puppy to stalk, jump on and constatnly want to play with my 9 y.o old dog? The puppy is 1 y.o. and the 9 y.o. always seems to run away when she is in her "attack" mode. What should I do?
Cesar My husband and I just love your show it is our highlight of the week! We have had 2 english springer spaniels in the past Great dogs and are awaiting 2 more at present. Is there a better type of dog food to feed them and is it best to feed twice a day or once? After exercise or should they rest first?
Thankyou for all you do for dogs you are really a blessing and may God Bless you always.
What's the best way to keep a once balanced dog from responding to an aggressive sounding, vinyl fence charging, next door neighbor dog?
when will Cesar put out a video or book about what to do with puppies?
Hi Cesar,
First I would like to say how much I have enjoyed watching you. I not only think you are amazing with dogs, but I find you calm me when I watch you; which if you knew me you would understand how big that is. Although my dogs are out of control, I continue to watch with the hope that someday I'll be able to follow your lead. My question is I was wondering if growing up you had someone who taught you about being a calm assertive pack leader or was that a gift born in you and you have perfected? Thank you for loving animals and working to make their lives better.
I loved all 100 shows but I still have a question.
I hwlp with the Easgt TN Border Collie Rescue and have had to stop fostering due to the Borders that I currently have have issues.
Charlie has anixety issue and will attact Cody when he is afraid. He is afraid of yellow school buses, storms, clouds, fireworks, gun shot and so many other things.
Lacy Mae is very notion and sound sentive so she tries to stop any dog, child or sound that is around.Usually nipping or biting the victim. She even chases thunder across the feild. I need a balanced pack to continue helping the rescue.
Thanks so much for the work you do,
Donna
Nona: Is it better to stand still or continue to keep walking when a dog off leash charges my dog, who is on leash? A dog charged us while we were walking in the park. I stood in front of my dog, puffed myself up, but the dog attacked my dog before I could do anything else. After I separated the fight, the dog ran off. A second dog, his companion, then charged us. Again, I stood in front of my dog, puffed myself up, raised my arm, yelled "hey", and that dog turned and ran away. The owner, who wasn't that far way from us, didn't say a word to me or her dogs. I don't know how to handle situations like this. What do you suggest?
Hello,
My dog Rosie has trust issues when meeting new people. Every since she was a pup she has been skittish. Her skittish behaviour got worse, I believe, because of my neighbour. He sprayed her with a hose when she barked, lunged at the fence at her, and always tells her to be quiet when she barks if he is outside. I have tried to talk to him but get no where. Now she is not very trusting with people when she first meets them. She will bark and avoid them at all costs. She will only warm up to someone if they come over to my house on a consistant basis. Then she is their best friend.
If someone new comes into the home I tell them to not look at her, or address her, and we find she stops barking. If the person talks to her she gets upsets and barks more. I used to take her into the pet stores, but I don't anymore because she doesn't like being around people she doesn't know.
My question is, how do I get her to be more trusting around new people?

Hi Ceasar,
We have a white german shepherd, she is great. The only problem we have is she loves, and i mean loves, to lick you. She doesn't quit till you acutally push her away.
Is there anything we can do to have her stop this after the inital i love you kisses.
thanks Helen
Congratulations on your 100th show.. I have a 3 yr old male who bolts when I take him outside on his leash. I really don't know what to do... any suggestions on what I can do.
I've heard of dogs who do not like/trust men. Now really, can a dog tell the difference between a man and a woman? Could it be just the clothes?
Hello Cesar, I want to know if you will be helping any AKC Show person/persons with their dogs that are being shown. Such as starting pups at 6 months if they are a little soft...not scared...just a tad soft. Like working on the table, and approaching the judge on the down and back. Also will you be doing anything with the Schutzhund Clubs working with their dogs? Thank You, Debbie
ceasar, i have had a great dane puppy brought into my life, which has filled it with joy, and i have watched your program on tv, and i think, oh that tip might help. the question that i have, is how to get him to listen to my commands more, and take me more serious when it comes to disapline??
thank you, from melissa in idaho
Congratulations and may you have a thousand episodes (if you want it)!
I have a neutered, two y.o. rescued boxer who knows the RBL's at home but when it comes to the walk, we are constantly defining the box. She was aggressive toward my other dog when she first came to us but with patience and determination, I was able to bring them to balance. She will go on high alert if she sees someone walking in the distance, she is dog aggressive, barking and going into red zone behavior even if a dog is accross the street. We have to walk her where there are no other dogs. After she has gotten past another dog, she will defecate in a circle. I have stopped her from urinating on every tree and post. Now I let her go one time and that's it. She's only 50 pounds but she is powerful and when she stops stubbornly or pulls, it is a challenge for me.
When she sees another human she has to be reined in or she will try to dominate the walk. When she's in the yard, she barks at any dogs that walk past our house.
She's gone after our other dog when I've stopped her from attacking and has come close to biting me but stopped. However the other night she bit my husband because he got in the way of her and a small, yappy, long-leashed dog. I feel like a failure on the walk. It's been 8 months and I have made very little progress. Whenever she's managed to make contact with the dogs, the other dogs end up getting their fur wet from her slobber and she ends up with the bloody bites. PLEASE PLEASE HELP.
How do you stop a dog from barking all the time when you let him out in the yard?
Cesar,
Congratulations on your
100th episode! I enjoy watching you work with all
the dogs and help their owners solve their problems with their beloved pets. My miniature
poodle, Mandy, is 6 yrs. old and she has a ritual of trying to lick my forearms and around my ankles. Why does she do this and how do you suggest I change this
annoying behavior?
Linda
Hi Cesar and family,
I am a big fan and have learn a lot from your shows. I have two pitbulls, an 11month old female and a 2 1/2 year old male. The male is very submissive and gentle and the female is submissive to other dogs when we go to the dog park, she will roll on her back and let them stiff her but has completely dominated my male pitbull at home. She will take treats, and toys right out of his mouth and he will not even go in our back yard anymore, where he used to spend hours sun bathing and playing because as soon as he goes outside in the yard, she will bite his back end and will jump on his back and bite his ears, sometimes making him cry. It is to the point where he will not even go out into the back yard to go to the bathroom and I have to take him on extra walks just to make sure he goes. He will go to the back door and cry but will not step foot out into the yard and if he does, he will run along the fence with his head down, use the bathroom and run straight back inside. There is a huge size difference between the two, my male being 84lbs and my female being 45lbs and he will not challenge her. I have tried to be calm and assertive and redirect her away from him but I am at a loss to fix the problem, and it breaks my heart to see my male being so bullied. Any suggestions would be so appreciated. I know how we all can be as a family, I just don't know how to get us all there.
Congratulations Cesar on your 100th epidsode.
I have (2) 2 yr. old Presa Canarios, and my female is the alpha, but we are (my husband & I the pack leaders). My male licks us constantly, especially we let them out of their run.
Isn't that insecure behavior or nervous behavior. He's doing better but he still does it quite often. How do you get him to stop thios behvior?
Thank-you~
I have a 4 yr old Black Lab that is scared to death of water. A creek, river, puddle, swimming pool...if it has water in it...he won't go near it.
I thought about taking him swimming with me and holding him to reassure him...am i on the right track with that?
Dear Cesar,
I am so proud to be able to say that you helped by Doberman Kaiser live his last years as a wonderfully happy adjusted dog. He passed on February 8th of this year but you will forever live on in our lives. Thank you Cesar!!
On another note I have a little 3 pound Chihuahua that gets long with other dogs just fine but is unable to be touched by people without loosing control of her bowels and urine. She has been severely abused for peeing and pooping in the house and being tormented by children. Can you help adjust this little one the way you did Kaiser?
I have a mixed breed border collie/black lab female that is terrified of flyswatters. I think she was abused by a former owner with one~ any suggestions on how to make it ok with her? thanks
Thank goodness we watched The Dog Whisperer before getting our new dog! We knew the No Look, No Touch, No Talk rule & were able to immediately establish leadership. Unfortunately, our rescued Jack Russell mix came with some issues that I hope Cesar can help us with. Her foster mom even reported the same thing to us, so I know we didn't create it! I would like to relax and cuddle with her on the sofa in the evenings, but she can't relax. If she falls asleep on the sofa in the evening & anyone makes a noise or moves, she jumps up & out onto the floor looking as if she's ready to fight or take flight. Even after being safe & secure in our home for 2 months, it hasn't improved much. If I even move my blanket, she jumps away as if she's scared of the blanket. Thanks in advance!
Hi Caesar. Im having problems with my 4 yr old pit bull, Taz, he is aggressive towards other dogs i dont know what to do his sister Angel is great around other dogs no problems they get along great but bring in another dog and Taz just gets aggressive, other dogs get nervous around him hes definately dominant hes great around people. We cant take him where there are other dogs he lunges and whines immediatley goes into attack mode doesnt listen to us at all hes focused on that dog. Hes a great dog I want him to be around other dogs without worrying about him hurting them I know its possible we just dont know what to do or how to do it. Please help..
My dog died on 9/27/06 and I feel so guilty that I did not "put him down" because I think he suffered quite a bit. I was busy working and did not give him the attention he deserved. He was almost 14 years old with health problems at the time. I do not have another dog. If I get another one, when do you know the time to put them down?
Cesar.... You are my idle....additionally, you are HOT. I am going to see you in person in Rockford on the 20th of Oct. will you let me get a photo with you?
Thanks in advance and congrats on 100 episodes.

Hey Cesar! My dog is now so happy with me because you trained me. But I have one issue I can't solve. My dog likes other dogs, smells them but will not let them smell him. I've tried holding him, but not sure if it that's the right thing. Thanks and congrats on 100!
I have learned alot from you Cesar but I need to know how do you stop a dog from being aggressive over her yard? We have a german shepherd that is 3yrs old now and she has become aggressive to the dog next door they both run barking at each other and Angel bites at them thru the fence. I have put myself in front of her, used a pinch collar, used a training collar but nothing works. She is scared of the water squirting at her stops her in her tracks but that won't help us in the winter months. SO WE NEED HELP PLEASE!! She will make it over the fence if she keeps trying and then we will be labeled with a vicious dog. HELP. Thank you for any help that you can give to us. BR
We've watched your show for years and it's really helped us to have a different relationship with our dog.
Turk is a very well behaved dog in almost every respect. We've followed your advice for walking, and it's made a great deal of difference, except for one problem;
If we're walking and Turk see's a cat (or worse, a skunk) before we see it, he'll launch himself at it so fast that there's no time to react. This has almost pulled us off our feet, and it got him sprayed by a skunk once (that didn't stop him). If we see the animal first, we can usually control his reaction (depending on how close it is). Fortunately he's very good with other dogs - this problem is primarily with cats and skunks.
I love your show, and watch it every chance I get! Congratulations on 100 episodes. I have 2 questions. First, if I am walking my dog on a leash and another dog comes running up to mine off leash (like from a backyard) what is the best way to handle my dog and that situation? Second, my dog tends to get very excited when motorcycles, bikes or kids on skateboards go by. What is a good way to get him to relax around these types of moving distractions? He is a black lab/border collie mix and very energetic! Thanks...
We have a 5 month old female Weimaraner that likes to eat mud whenever we let her out in our backyard. How do we stop her from doing this? We watch your show & haven't seen this problem come up.
Congratulations on your 100th episode! We look forward to watching it.

Hi Cesar-
Congratulations on your 100th episode.
My question is how to stop my spayed 3 year old female Maltese from humping one of her favorite toys. I do not understand why she does it and have not been able to stop the behavior so I just put the toy away. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Michele V. Chandler, AZ
First of all we would like to say congrats on your 100th episode and you are awesome : ) Here is our question: We know you have helped a lot of dogs, but is there one that stands out that you are really glad you were able to rehabilitate?
Angel and Greene
Congratulations on 100th~~ I have been buying your books. They help so much as we have a mini Schnauzer. Her name is Holwager's Bindi Girl. She is 2 years 9 months. She loves to bark when people walk by. The shaking of the can worked for a while. Then she started to just turn and look at me and continues to bark her shrill bark.
She is so interessted in barking she doesn't hear a thing we do.I clap my hands really hard to get her attention. OUCH!!! I WISH WE COULD GET NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL. I think seeing the live version of training would help a lot. When I started to walk her she would pull so much~~so I started the reverse walking with her~~I felt like we were going in circles~~then I would just turn and stop with her. She did not like that. HOORAY!! I think I will check on the CD's that you have out~~as she still acts like a puppy. THANK YOU for all your goood advice.
Love the show!
Congratulations to Cesar Milan, his family, pack, and crew, as well as clients, for making the 100th episode milestone.
Unfortunately, I don't have a dog in my family, but I love watching the dog owners and their dogs, in a sense, reunite. I also love how Cesar isn't afraid to express his feelings - that is, show tears in his eyes and quivers in his voice - when he is touched with his clients' situations and what they've done to overcome them.
Are there any possibilities that Cesar Milan can come to Hawaii (particularly Oahu) to give a seminar about dog psychology, or maybe even shoot a Dog Whisperer episode?
I have learned that my dog follows a command with hand signals or by my body language better than word commands. Does this make sense?
I love your show and have read most of your books.
Congratulations on your 100th episode. I have 3 rat terriers who are 20 months old (2 females & 1 male littermates). I am disabled and it has been a challenge training them, but with what I have learned in watching your show & reading one of your books I have been able to adjust our behavior and deal with some of their issues, But I have a problem with potty issues. They were doing fairly well though not as good as they should, but now they are peeing and having bowel movements in our laundry room/computer room. What can we do to resolve this? They are indoor dogs, but have a doggy door for outside access to their kennel.I have never had this problem with my other dogs, but they were trained before my SCI.
Congratulations on 100 episodes!! I am not surprised by your success! My problem is I have a 120 lb black lab, he's 18mo and is obedient and wants to please. However when it comes time to walk him he becomes so excited that I can barley put his collar on. As soon as he's hears the drawer open where we keep it he begins to pace, jump and bark. I've tried to correct him and wait till he calms down but as soon as I begin to collar him it all starts over. On the walk he continues to pull even with a choke collar which I keep high on his jaw line. Please help, I know he needs the exercise but he's so strong that it's becoming too diffcult.
Congrats on your 100th episode.I watch your show every week. I have a Jack Russel who is a very sweet and smart dog. she loves people but is so agressive to other dogs Large or small. She is eight years old now. Is it too late to change her now. Thank you Cesar
Congrats you are truly a hero to dog people everywhere.I have 2 english bulldogs and a boxer the boxer and 1 of the bulldogs is a female and they fight.People have told me I will never be able to get these girls to get along again. Is it doable the bulldog is 2 1/2 and the boxer is 6 they are fixed the male bulldog gets along with both and is 10 months and yes we do do the treadmill it's awesome.Keep up the good work you are helping so many.
Love Pattie , Bazil,Emma,Jazz
Congratulations on your 100 episode. Continue watching it. I have one year old

I have a rescued King Charles Spaniel. We made great progress with the daily walks. But she developed bilateral torn ACL ligaments (knee joints). Now her walks are very limited. What can I do in place of the exercise? She has fearful aggression issues. When is Cesar coming to the central valley of California?
Cesar i wish you would come to the east coast! you did wonders with my aunt tina's dog nunu! I have a question concerning my dog, have you ever encountered a "stealth" biter? my dog attacks without barks or warning signs of any kind. he tries to knock us off our feet to get us on the ground, and it almost seems like he wants to lure us into vulnerable spots. i have been working on him for months, so far all i can get is a "sit" and a 5 or 6 second "stay", and i'm wondering what kind of approach to use other than treats and excercise?
Congratulations on the 100 mark! Ceasar has definitely been a life saver. We started watching before we rescued and even if I'm watching a rerun I find I learn something new everytime. Thank you! We've had our 3yr old Rottie lab mix for four months now. I walk him briskly twice a day, but he has a problem with fixating on small animals i.e. cats, and squirrels, and he gets overly excited to meet other dogs (he's very friendly) so he pulls alot. I tried the Illusion collar but it did not help. I would really like him to just relax around the smaller animals but his fixation goes from 1-10 like that so that he does not notice anything else. Even the "shhsh" with the bite and the heal tap doesn't work. I would love some help in this area! Thanks so much and keep up the wonderful work. It is sooo dearly appreciated. ;)
My family of four lives in a small community of families of adopted and foster families, along with we just "forgot" that our kids are our kids, plus lots of elders. The name of our community is called Treehouse of Easthampton MA. What a need for your skills there would be here. Since pets are allowed to live here as well, there are alot of unruly owners. I believe the pets are fine most of the time. We would love to have you visit with Illusion and your boys, We do not have money but there are some very good cooks. lots of organic food from the garden.
Mary, resident of the Treehouse, packleader of 3 canine, a few extras as needed, and of course two beautiful daughters and a great husband.
BLIND AGGRESSIVE DOG: We love the show & try to practice with our 2 Amstaffs. Our 4 yr old spayed female has sight problems. She is obedient & is always leashed. Other people let their dogs off leash that charge at her & she prepares to be agressive, (no growling or teeth, only wining & pulling) it is a struggle to control her.
She responds to all commands but not with unknown dogs. She gets along perfectly with our other Amstaff. We are afraid she will hurt one if it got too close. There is nothing we can do about other people not leashing their dogs. My husband thinks her behaviour is because of her sight problems because we have never had an issue with our 7yr old male. How can we train her?
I have 2 male pekingese 1 is the father and 1 is the son- how can I make them stop fighting with each oter?
Thanks Cesar for sharing your knowledge and understanding with all of us.
Congratulations on your 100
show
Happy 100th Cesar and the gang at the Dog Whisperer show! I have one question, how the heck does one train a dog to poop on the grass out back! He'll go on his walks, but never when I let him out back. I have a hard time walking him, even though he's only a miniature dachshund. I suffer from extreme chronic pain and can't take walking more than 1 block on a good day, at the most, and my husband is not always home when he needs to go, so the poor little guy holds it till daddy gets home or goes in the house! Help! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Question: I have a 1 1/2 year old tri-color collie. All of a sudden he is scared to walk up the stairs to get to the door to come in the house. His sister walks up the stairs (and he used to), but now he just stands at the bottom of the stairs and crys. He will NOT walk up the stairs. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened and we do not know what has caused this. Can you help? Lynne Rees, Kansas City, Mo
I have an Akita named Vince (after Vince Lombardi)that just turned 10yrs on Sep 10th. He has always been well behaved and we NEVER offered him our food from our plates or the kitchen. But now that the Grand Kids have come along he has turned into a chow-hound. Suddenly he is at my feet too often while I'm starting dinner or even just going to the refrigerator. He leaves when I run him out but he is becoming obsessed with waiting for something to hit the floor. I 'tsst' him until he relaxes and stops looking at the food, but the next time I'm in the kitchen he is right there again. This has never been an issue so I'm a little lost with exactly what to do. Thank You for ALL of the great shows!
I'll be there for the 200th episode too!
Sue
Congrats to an awesome person who has done wonderful work in helping the lives of animals.!! I mean that sincerely.... ***Here is my question**** Ready for this one?.. I have a Lhasa Apso who is 13.. He is extremely healthy does not look his age, he is not neutered ( I use to show him and that is the reason I did not have him neutered).. The clincher is this.. I have my girl Lexee.. She was an abused girl rescued from a puppy mill.. I've had her for 1 1/2 years...She is spayed.. Beaux has never bothered her ever until about a month ago.. He just cannot seem to keep his nose from out of her bottom area.. He follows her every where.. She is timid and very quiet, so she just stands there and we need to constantly tell him no so he does not drive poor Lexee ga ga.. What in the world is going on since she is fixed?.. How can we help this situation.. I will not fix him at his age to me it's too risky and my girls are spayed. He does not bother Sophie my other female who is spayed.. Only poor Lexee
Hi Cesar,I started watching your show every day for about two months now, I found you by a wonderful mistake. I got my second dog a great Dane puppy at 9 wks old and used your techniques he sits, gives paw, is paper and out side trained, knows the property line and won't go on the sidewalk without me. He stops at all intersections looks both ways before crossing, he walks good and stops when I stop. He is now only 14wks old and I can let my 6 yr old walk him without fear. Thank you for that. But I have a 1 yr old American Eskimo that wont stop barking and lunging at strangers I have to hold him down and leave. When I have company I have to crate him, everyone is afraid of him, but he is such a beautiful dog please help? CONGRATULATIONS on your 100th episode, only 900 more to go.
I would like to bring a question to you. My American Bulldog,ZEUS,is currently staying with my parents in Georgia, because my husband and I got sent to Japan due to my husband being in the military. ZEUS is a BEAUTIFUL 5year old, male American Bulldog and has lost his appetite. He has been to the vet,and is perfectly healthy,so we do not know what is making him have a lack of appetite. He seems depressed..I am asking for your expertise and BEGGING that you help us,and that you help Zeus! WILL you be able to help?
When is Cesar going to open the new center??
How do I get my hyperactive Pom to like my 3 cats. Walks don't com her down. She needs more exersize. Biking and skating is our of the questions in the mountains. She also gets my otherwise com akitamix in the mix with the cats. If only the akitamix and the cats everything is OK.
throw in a lively parrot and my house is a mess. I need help. I am alone with too many pets. HELP!!!
I have two male Rottweilers from the same litter. They were both neutered at 4 months old and for the most part they are controlled by sshht or of late a shot from the water bottle. In the first three years we had only three times that an actual fight started but with the help of a large cutting board (to break eye contact and control one in a corner) all has been peaceful. I am begining to notice that they seem to be challenging each other more and more, especially the one that has always appeared to be the less dominate of the two. Nothing has changed in their lives - is this normal and will it get worse as they get older?
I hope I am chosen to be answered because these are my babies.
Congrats on you 100th episode Cesar!!!
I stumbled on your show a couple years ago and have been a devoted fan ever since. I have always had a great love for animals but especially dogs and have never been with out at least one. I've also been very fortunate with non dominant dogs but still wish I had known your techniques earlier. We got our first Golden Retriever 7 years ago as a companion for my daughter who has severe epilepsy. She has such a beautiful spirit and has never given us a day of grief. Two years ago we decided to add another Golden. All I can say is Thank you God for Cesar. He is the complete opposite of her. If he would have landed in a family that has never seen your show I feel certain he would have landed in a shelter and eventually euthanized for aggression. At 7 weeks old he challenged several members of my family over a toy. We immediately implemented your techniques and now I have 100% confidence that he knows his place in our "pack", he has never since shown any dominance over humans. He still seems to feel the need to protect us whenever passing a strange dog on our walks so we always have to be on alert to watch his body language and correct him immediately. So he will continue to be a work in progress but we love him dearly.
My question for Cesar would be.....When are you going to run for President??? I'd give anything to see you take your stance and "Tsst's" all those long winded politicians.
Keep up the great work Cesar. We learn so much from your shows, even when watching the reruns I learn something I missed the first time around.
Hi, I watch all the time and I was wondering about my dog, she is a chu/terrier and she is use to having lots of dogs around her. Recently she became the only dog and now she doesnt want to eat and seems very listless. Hope you can help
My 3 year old miniature schnauzer, Rosie, is very nervous. She is easily startled and yips when she is(as if you stepped on her toe). She pees also, sometimes only if you ask her to come. I have rarely been able to get her to be calm and submissive, and on her own, she rarely lies down, unless she's in her kennel...she'll just sit with her head up and her ears straight up.
Worst, she seems to be terrified of the leash-- although I haven't tried the peanut butter trick yet. P.S. we have a 2nd dog, Daisy, that is a 9 yr old Yorkie. No problems with her, and she loves the leash, but i would love to be able to walk both dogs.
First of all I would like to thank Cesar for all his great work. Muchisimas gracias!!! We have a longhair miniature dachshund of which we love dearly. He tends to growl at strangers nearby and he is very protective over me. I am not sure if he does it because he does not know what the strangers are going to do when they get closer or maybe because he is trying to protect me - basically he is very territorial. This is something that we are trying to correct, but we are not 100% successful. Everytime a stranger wants to approach and pet, we immediately tell them that it is not a good idea because we know that our dog will take the opportunity to strike. We would like him to be more sociable with humans. He just started howling like a wolf every night (the howling is very annoying!). What does the howling mean? Your advice is very much appreciated.
Keep up the good work!
Hello Cesar!
I have to get this out, I LOVE DADDY!!! I say it every time that we watch your show! I never really liked Pit Bulls till I saw your show and Daddy! I must say that Junior has BIG shoes to fill =) but I am sure that he will have no problem with that! Congratulations on your 100th episode! that is so fantastic for all of us your viewers because that means that you have many followers, #1 leader! I try very hard with my Yellow Lab Joey and Beagle Snoopy. Though I must say I have many problems with them at the door and my husband says that it is due to the age.. they both are around 21 months old.... I think that we get very frustrated with them but I do not know.... Maybe one day we can have you out to give us a hand. My husband has to walk with 4 arm crutches and it is very difficult for him to walk them, though he would love to do so, plus I get afraid that Joey will knock him over when he gets excited. Joey also has a problem with our neighbor kids on either side of the house. When my husband opens the door to go out the boys bolt out of the door and take off to the neighbors house and the kids are so freaked out from them, it just saddens me that they do that. We have done our best to teach them not to do that, I do not know what else to do... We noticed when we got home from the dog park a few weeks ago that Joey has a very different side to him, he becomes very evil when the other neighbor kids come out... his hair stands up and he has a very crazy bark and he lunges to get to them. I do not know if he just doest like them or if they did something to him. I just do not know, it is very very sad though. Maybe you could just send me a letter to tell me what I can do to change things to make life a bit easier??? There is more but this is to be a happy time for you and your crew.
Thank you so very much for all that you and your pals do for all the viewers!!!
Congrats again! Please give Daddy a hug for me he is just the best!!
PS I cried when he was attacked by the Pit Bull in your trailer, I know that it was not as bad as it looked. He is such a great soul and I am so happy that he is okay!
My grandchildren have just gotten two puppies--they are a Yorkie/Shih tzu mix and 6 months old. Could you please advise us as to the best method for housebreaking them? We are not having consistent success.
Thank you so much for the difference you are making in the treatment of dogs in our country.
I have hear you state on several episodes that dogs don't have a long memory span. If this is true, why do dogs have behaviors that are a result from traumatic events of the past taking potentially months to correct?
I own two rescue dogs which have been a REAL challenge including having dog trainers telling me to euthanize them due to their behavior being a direct result of their past. If their memory retention is short, how do they remember the trauma so long?
Is Cesar going to be on forever? I sure hope so. As long as there are people with dogs, we need him to help teach the folks.
Best of luck in everything, Cesar!
We love you.
Thanks for all you do for humanity and its pets.
Sincerely, the Svenssons in GA
Hey Cesar,
My dog has a car sickness problem and Drools excessively just knowing she is going in the car. My husband and I think that it is something mental that she is doing. We have tried to distract her in the car to make it more enjoyable, and that used to work, but now she is immune to it. What can we do so that she becomes an enjoybale traveling companion?
Congratulations on your 100th episode!!!
How can I get my (not neutered) Male to stop leaving his scent in the house when there is a dog in heat? He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Stud. I don’t let him out the door before me, and I don’t let him in before me I make him stay until I am in or out until I say OK. He don’t sleep on our bed (he use to but you said that was a No No) I make him wait and look at me when he gets his dinner until I say OK. I have your collar he does good on walks now. I am at a loss. I have your books; I just don’t know what I am doing wrong.
We Love your show and watch it all the time.
Thank you,
Deb
My dog uses my 7 year old like a toy. She is a 9 month old beagle/english springer spaniel/blue tick mix. She jumps on him constantly, scratches and chases him. She jumps on everyone as a matter of fact. Tried everything I could to stop her. She also jumps over furniture and flies through the house. It is very frustrating and we need to change these things if we are going to keep her. Please help us.
hi cesaer,
my family and i have been watching your shows like forever.. i feel like they have been all 100 episodes.. and even if its a re-run it feels like we are watching it for the first time.. we have tried your techniques with our pack.. we have 3 dogs now. we had 4.. i had previously sent you an email and was turned down.. i have chow shephard mixes. my husband usually is not a person whom is gifty, not gifted. but gifty. he gave me our first dog in 2004 as a mothers day gift. thus gifty. however we named him cowboy since we were and are dallas cowboy fans. long story short. cowboy was a loving puppy he had some chihuahua in him from what i was told when we got him.but they tell me he looks like a "jindo". well our neighbor got evicted '05 she left behind 2 dogs(older) boxer & hairy lab? the boxer constantly jumped up & down barking up & down. we had a chain link fence.. imagine my dilema! cowboy we had him in an apt until 6months then moved to our now rental.. thus had large yard to roam.. then this happend. we had to chain him up so that he did not go to their side of the fence. the dogs were left next door for 3 weeks. the ownr of the home rarely showed and did not do anything to get the dogs to a shelter i called & was told the ownr of the home had to do it.. ifed them because i felt bad even though they were a pain in butt. the owner of the dogs told me that she had made arrangements for a shelter to come for them asked me to give them a "relaxer" so that they would not be jumpy? i told her that i could not do that. she then left. cowboy became very aggitated he bit my then 4 yr old on the arm and also my husbands nephew on the leg & my sister n law on the arm. he did nto just come and do this they were near him and he did nto vicously bite them it was more like a hard nip. and only once. then i guess he felt bad he did it and came back to kinda tell me he was sorry. we were going to part with him because of that but felt bad. when the other dogs left after like 4 wks. we let him go. he still was aggitated started to fight with his pups as they got older but was a great "father" when their were babies. the mother was never "motherly" to them he was. as the years went on we had to put him on the side of our house. where he had been until 2 weeks ago. i had tried all other places to take him. my landlord no longer allowed us to keep him so reluctantly we put it off until he gave us an ultimatum us or him. we begged and cried. and finally gave him up!! i cried and still cry because i know they will put him down i wanted to try to see if you would take him into your pack. but i was turned down this was the only hope i had. as i write this icry for the thought of him bieng put down and i know that you personnaly did not turn me down. but someone did. the way you are with them he would have been wonderful. he was a joy and pleasure. if this finds you intime. the west valley animal shelter has him. i took him 9/5. please help. i had previously had to take one of his sons back in june and when i took him i found out with great joy taht he was adopted. but cowboy is another story. i love my dogs. and felt that it was our fault he became that way.. and wish no one has to go thru that. thanks angela.
Congratulations on 100 episodes, love your show!!! I have adopted my current dogs from a "local" boxer rescue group, and have raised boxers for 17 years. My current male whom I have had for 4 yrs. chews EVERYTHING!! I cannot leave a towel or blanket in his crate, he will and has eaten them. I have had to go to 3/4" thick horse mats for the kennel, he has chewed the side of the house, wire mesh fencing, he shreds and eats rope toys, HELP!! So far he has thrown up or gotten rid of things he has eaten, thank goodness, but I'm afraid one day.....can you please help? And are you ever going to visit beautiful N. Calif (Sonoma-beautiful wine country). We are Dog Whisperer fanatics here!!
Thank You for all you do for our wonderful four legged friends and continued success in making all households "calm assertive" ones.
BB & the Boxers.....
Hey, Cesar! Congratulations on your 100th episode. I watch faithfully, and learn so much from your show. You have such a gift and great insight on how energy works.
I need guidance on what kind of dog would be best for a first time dog owner, who is also an avid cat lover. (My husband and I have 8 cats.) I have thought for a long time that I'd like to adopt a retired greyhound, who was tested to be cat friendly with a laid back, non-hyper temperament. I love the personalities of these dogs and want to give one (or two!) a home someday. My husband and I also like Pomeranians, but don't know if that would be a good choice. (We both work from home, by the way, so the dog wouldn't be left alone all day. If that were the case, I wouldn't get a dog until one of us could be home most of the time.)
Thanks so much!

My partner and I are HUGE Dog Whisperer fans. We have 2 Pit Bull mixes that we rescued within the last year and a half. They are generally good dogs. The problem is that I suffer from severe anxiety problems. I know I need to be calm and assertive but I find that 90% of the time that's simply impossible for me. Our first dog Tyson, started suffering from anxiety about 4-6months after we rescued him. Knowing dog psychology now, we both know I am the source of his issue. I HATE that he suffers because of me and that in itself leads to more anxiety from me and I just don't know what to do!! His incidents of fear and anxiety were few and far between at first and now they are quite often. Our second dog Jazz, is very, very hyper and I lose patience with her very quickly due to my nervousness, and it feels like we have no control and are powerless to be "normal" dog owners. Cesar we feel utterly helpless, can you please help???
Question : I have a 9 yr old Sheltie/Samoyed cross and she nips people when they come in she gets so excited i was wonderering if you could tell me what to do to change this, I love your show and tape every episode and watch them over and over ,trying to change her to a calm submissive balanced dog but it doesnt seem to be working ,Please Help Cesar your my last hope with her.
Hi, Cesar,
Congratulations on your 100th show!!!
I have a Akita (F) just to be 3 yo. She is afraid of everything, (very skittish and timid) and is possessive of me. I need to have her stop this possessive/guarding behavior when my 83 yo father is around or if I am not home. She is not possesstion aggressive. I have tried some of the things on your show for her other behaviors, but have not seen anything on these behaviors. HELP!!!
I am at my wits end.
Thank You,
Kathy
Congrats on your 100th!!!
I was wondering if Cesar would ever come to Canada and help Train some ppl and Rehabitate some dogs?
It is also wonderfull to see a person like Cesar in this world who can speak for animals who cant speak for themselves. He was truly blessed with a Gift!
Congrats Cesar!!

WE have a 9 yr old cairn terrier. Why does she go after the vacuum and will also go after people's feet when they go to get up after here awhile? Another along the same line, I walk her and if we have someone with us toward the end of the walk, she will start trying to nip after their feet? What's this about and how to correct this embarrassing problem.
My 3yr old English Bulldog Moses is a sweet wonderful dog. I have been applying Cesars "Exercise, discipline & affection" since day one that I got Moses. However, he has now developed 2 behaviors: Licking the air for no reason...He has been checked out at the vet and is ok. The 2nd is that he follows me everywhere in the house. I can't even go to the bathroom without him following me. I don't mind but I need to know if this could be separation anxiety. He does not misbehave when I leave the house. He doesn't bark. Moses always had respect for me. However, Feb 2008, I had surgery and was weak for 3 wks. Moses changed. He seemed insecure. Then in April, I almost lost my dad to heart surgery and a stroke. In May & June, I struggled with my job. Then in Aug, I almost lost my brother and my mom. All survived. It was Feb that Moses started following me everywhere in the house. It was in April that Moses started licking the air. Is he just picking up on my stress? Is he just looking out for me by following me or is it separation anxiety? I could hire a behaviorist but I respect you the most and perfer to know what you think of Moses' behavior. Thank you, Christine Lorbeer
P.S. He is licking air as we speak. I am not even that stressed. Sigh....
We have a 9yr old cairn terrier and she goes after the vacuum and also other people's feet after they have been visiting for awhile and get up to leave. When I walk her I have had friends go along for the walk and she will go after their feet towards the end of the walk, but not at the beginning. She is such a different dog than we have ever had and always seem a challenge. We have also moved two years ago from a home to a condo and we know this has been a big change for all of us. She can also be aggressive with our two year old granddaughter, too. Sometimes this is worrisome. Thanks for any help you can impart.
Congratulations, Cesar! I second the plea for help that Rosie wrote above about the two dogs at the interstate exit. We have tried everything we can think of, and are very concerned that the County will try to destroy them before we can rescue them. I also think it would make a great show to come to a local rescue organization and show the problems and joys there, and we can show you our Save A Pet, Inc.
Please consider coming to help these two wonderful but uncatchable dogs, we really need your help.
Jari, proud "mom" of 14 dogs and volunteer with Save A Pet, Inc. in Forsyth, GA
Hello Caesar
First off Congratulations on your 100th episode!! Amazing accomplishment for a truly genuine guy! Question for you... I take my dog Meeko (Golden Retriever) to the dog park a lot He sniffs all the dogs but will not allow the other dogs to sniff him. How can I correct this? He runs from them and sometimes barks. He pants a lot too but I cant tell if thats because he is hot from running around or because of anxiety. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Keep up the good work, and hope to meet you one day soon! P.S. Daddy and Junior ROCK!!

Congrads on your 100th show.
My delema is I have two 5 year old chihuahua's and a 4 month old boxer. All females. Everytime the boxer goes near the chihuahua's they start attacking the boxer. I can't seem to stop this problem. What do I do?
Congratulations on your 100th show!!We have Tivo all your shows & have applied your lessons to our 9 yr. old Beagle/Queensland Healer mix with an alpha personality. Even though he walks 4 miles every day of the week, when a person walks their dog past our front door, he becomes "Cujo". I immediately correct him, but this training has been going on since we adopted him at 1 yr. old. How can I enforce the personality of "Cujo" to stop?
I have two rescue beagle mixes. Both boys. Both neutered. Freddie joined our family in December 2004. Shorty came in December 2007. We used your techniques to pick Shorty and found an energy that fits with Freddie. They are very good friends and are together all the time. They lay on each other to nap, etc. They play a lot w/ each other. I want to know how to tell the difference between playing and when the line is crossed.
Dear Cesar, congratulations to you and all of the staff, including those beautiful pack dogs(LOVE THAT DADDY! I died inside when Daddy got bit by the pitbull Trinity, though I know Daddy was ok)on your 100th episode! That is a lot of work but it obviously has paid off, rehabilitating the dogs but training the people! We have our son, who is soon to be 21, and he is very interested in learning about how to be taught Cesar Milan's way of dog training. Do you have anybody in the eastern USA that could help to teach him and certify him so that he can go and help others too? We have learned so much for our 6 pack of dogs here!We watch every show and thank you for all you do! Keep being the great pack leader you are!! Love always, Schottler family
I have a 12 year old dachshund that I cannot seem to potty train, no matter how hard I try!!! What is wrong? Help
Hi Cesar:
Congratulations on your 100th episode. You deserve an Award for all the help you do for people and their pets.
I love dogs and am not afraid of them, but was wondering if you could answer the following question for me. What should you do if walking down the street and you are attacked by dogs, or if walking your dog and your dog gets attacked by dogs. What should you do to protect you and your dog, or try to prevent the attack. Thank you for your help.
QUESTION:
I have a 1 year old pit bull mix. She's smart, well behaved, and very calm and submissive. She gets a hour walk a day, often 30-40 minutes of it running with a bicycle. But... when she does get ahold of something "fun" that she's not supposed to have, such as a pill bottle or mechanical pencil or an important piece of paper, no matter what I say or do, she thinks its a grand game of keep away! I can get the item from her by offering a cookie in exchange, but I'm afraid I'm just showing her how to get a cookie. I do make her wait until I've gotten the item from wherever she dropped it, and make her do something else (like "doggie pushups") before I give her the treats, but I'd love to know how to get her to drop it instantly without a cookie as a reward. Or to stop trying to play keep away at any time, because sometimes she does it when I want to put on her collar. Any ideas how to break this habit?
I have a 4 year old Dalmatian. She seems to like people however, when someone other than a family member comes around she greets them and wants to play with them and all of a sudden barks and acts like she is going to bite them. This frightens everyone she does it to. It's like she is trying to intimidate them.
Is that what it is?
How can we correct this behavior?
hi, about 2 years ago we took in a 6 month old female pit bull cattle dog mix. she was very sick + been abused. she was extremely hand-shy at 1st. whenever you would go to put her leash on or pet her, ect. she would duck as if she was expecting to be hit. we have NEVER hit her, and have tried to be very gentle with her, yet we do apply positive training. she is very smart + responds well to training. but after all this time she still acts afraid as if she thinks she may be hit. even occasionally urinating a tiny bit, especially with men with deeper voices. now when you go to put her leash on she licks our hands SO MUCH it is hard to get her leash on. It is as if she issaying, 'look, i love you, don't hurt me'. It is heartbreaking, not to mention a bit annoying.
Do abused dogs ever outgrow their fear?? Is there something we can do to help her get over it? she is the sweetest, smartest dog in the world + we love her to death. we hate to see her like this.
any suggestions would be greatly apprecited. Thx!

*ps - love your show! congrats on the 100th episode!!
Hi Greg, Hi Cesar =) my name is Anna from Hayward,CA. I just want to know if there's any way you can clone Daddy, the world's greatest and luckiest dog ever? Love, ME =)
Congratulations on 100 episodes! In looking at other's comments, I saw things that relate to my dog, Murphy Brown. Do you have any plans to respond to people's questions? Not individually, but collectively. I think it would be a great help to us all. Keep up the great work, Cesar!
Cesar,
I would like to know what you think of Victoria Stillwell, the famous dog trainer in Great Britain. She has a show on Animal Planet called "It's Me Or The Dog". I don't realy wish to 'diss' her, but after watching "The Dog Whisperer" and how naturally and calmly you handle every situation, this woman seems phoney. I see she has some good techniques at times but once in a while she will try something and I will gasp and say "Oh, Cesar would never do that!" Like telling the owners there is no hope for the dog. It won't change and it may be better to get rid of it. Aaaaahh!
Also, congratulations on not only your 100th episode, but for your personal successes gained while realizing your talents, and using them in a positive manner. You make the world a better place for humans and animals to live in.
I do have a request tho. Can you please cover more situations where more than one large dog is in the home and the energy is high alot, and the owner is afraid to take them anywhere because of their size and strength? That's me. I have a 130 lb yellow lab, a smaller golden retriever, and a chocolate lab. They are all under exercised but I cannot handle even one for too long. The yellow lab and the golden retriever are in their terrible two's and three's and have so much energy that I can only calm them with your techniques for so long, but with three dogs, they feed off of each other and spoil what I have accomplished. They wear me out. Please help if you can. I am sure I am not the only one in this predicament. Thank you Cesar.
Congratulations Cesar, for showing us the way, understanding Pitbulls and all the other positive vibes in your tv programmes and books.
Brian and Luna from the Rock of Gibraltar.
Cesar, congratulations on your 100th show and your 4th season! Also, thank you for the two seminars you held in Hawaii. I've always wondered what the dogs think when they see their pack leader picking up their "poo" since it is not something that occurs in nature. Cesar, you're the best!!!
Congratulations Cesar, for showing us the way, understanding Pitbulls and all the other positive vibes in your tv programmes and books.

PS - Great interview tonight on Coast to Coast with George.
Congrats Cesar! Rudy, my German Shepherd, and I were wondering if you're a Star Wars fan. I believe the "energy" that you're always talking about is the Force. You and the Jedi share the same wisdom when it comes to anger, fear, and aggression being the path to the Darkside, and being calm and at peace and acting on instinct in order to be in touch with the Force. Any thoughts?
Thanks for being the ultimate Pack Leader and Jedi Master!
D.J. & Rudy
I am Kirsty from England, and I have wanted to be a dog psychologist for a long long time now.
This is down to watching the dog whisperer.
How did you get where you are today Cesar?
You are an insperation, congratulations on the 100 episodes, I'm going to buy the lot!
I have a question about my 7 year old Chesapeke Bay Ret. I have had her since she was 4mos old and was raised around other dogs both in and outside of our house. I was in school at the time to become a proffesional dog trainer and brought her with me everyday. She had her canine good citizen by 6mos and had finished advanced obediance by that age also. She is great off leash and I can trust her to listen off leash at all times! my problem is she is dog aggressive, I have another dog a male unneutered pug that is 5 years old. She has bitten him 2 times in the past, one time it resulted in him having surgery to repair his eye. She has since been spayed and has never bitten him again. I take them to the dog park after it is closed in the middle of the night to play with them and get their energy out, I would love to be able to take them when others are there. She won't chase a dog to attack it, but if it comes within a certain distance of me she will attack it. I love her soo much and know she is capapble of anything, please help!
hello congratulations on 100 episodes :)
i have just bought a 8 week old yorkshire terrier and i already have a 3 year old pomeranian (who thinks he owns the world) i have to make sure they are separared at all times how can i slowley introduce them? as my 3 year old pom is SO out of control with other dogs. thank you ceaser :)
Dear Cesar, Congrats on the 100th show. Please help me! My husband says that my son's dog has got to go,and that we don't live in a barn. Santino is a chihauhua and is one year old. We've tried everthing possible to get him potty trained. We tried training pads, treats, walks, crate training. What are we doing wrong? We don't want to give him away, we love him.We are getting him neutered next week. Everyone says that, that will help.but will it? Thank You for listening. Rita Impagliazzo
I have a question about my 5 year old dalmatian. About a year ago, she started to pee on one of her friends. She is balanced and submissive most of the time. She is only peeing on dogs who gets a hot temper when they are playing. She does not dare to tell them to stop going after her, and that is when she starts to pee at them. Is it some kind of dominance that she is trying to show. I try to correct her when she is doing it, but she doesn´t stop. I just have to say that she i absolutely not a problematic dog except for this part. I work with her every day to get her more balanced. I hope you can help me!
Dear Cesar, I forgot to mention that he is aggessive with other dogs, and is agressive with people, when they are in our home. When he is outside when I walk him,he does not like other dogs, and sometimes he is fearful of people and noise. Thank You for listening. Rita Impagliazzo
HI CESAR YOUR SHOW ARE FANTASTIC. PLEASE COME TO THE UK!
MY STAFFY IS 11 MONTHS OLD, PRETTY OBEDIENT AT HOME BUT IN THE PARK IF LET OFF REFUSES TO COME BACK ON RECALL; BARKS CONSTANTLY AND CIRCLES US? WHAT IS HE TRY TO SAY TO US? HE DOES EVENTUALLY COME BACK AND I PRAISE HIM FOR COMING BACK. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER STAFFY WHO IS 13YEARS OLD AND WELL BEHAVED (BUT DISLIKES OTHER DOGS). i WONDER WHETHER HE IS JUST BEING A TERRIBLE TEENAGER!
HE HAS BEEN CASTRATED.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATE?
THANKS
I have a 4 year old pug who is a marker. Can anything be done to stop this behavior. I don't know his back ground because I got him at a shelter 2 years ago.

ps hope you have 1000s more shows xxxxxxxxx
Congratulations on the 100th show! Your show is the best on TV!Have you ever worked with Border Terriers?I have two 9yr old BT's..they're well-trained except for barking and escaping whenever there's a door opened by someone who doesn't know the rule.."keep doors locked".They are crate-trained, so if a repairman is here we just put them in their crates in case anyone has to go in and out, etc.
Congratulations Cesar and staff on 100 Episodes. You have helped so many people and dogs. I have worked with dogs for many years and you brought a new level of understanding to me. You are the only one that got through to my husband. We have 4 dogs and going out the door for a walk was chaos. Since he watched your show the dogs never go out until they are sitting calmly which they do automatically now as they know what is expected.
Thank you for that.We have received so many compliments about how well behaved our dogs are. They include a Newfoundland, an Akita, a Bouvier and a Chow puppy. All from shelters or rescue groups.
We would love for you to come to Canada. The Pit Bull ban here in Ontario has been challenged again and hopefully will make it to the Supreme Court and be overturned.
I know you can't answer my question, but I'm dying to know just how much the Tycoon was willing to pay for you to "fix" his dogs!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have a 7 month old Bernese Mountain Dog. I am on disability and me and my son live with my parents. He weighs 90 lbs and I trained him with treats at 4 months and he minds me but wreaks havoc on every one else. What do I do to make him mind them? I have been making them take 5 minutes a day and each train him with treats hoping this would help. What should I do?
I have 2 female spayed westies that have been fighting. I travel for my job 2 weeks out of the month. When I'm home I am sure to practice exercise, discipline and affection and they challenge me. When I travel they don't fight and my family really only practices affection. Help me understand what in the world is going on!
Congratulations on your 100th episode. I love your show. We have a 2 year old female Golden Retreiver and she is wonderful except that she jumps up on everyone that comes around her and she grabs your arm in her mouth and won't let go. Someone told us that she does that because she thinks we belong to her. We have 3 other dogs. Please help. We don't know what else to try to stop her from doing that. Thank you, your the greatest. Your work is amazing.
Hi Cesar,
I think i have watched all 100 episodes also. I live in Jacksonville, florida and I have a large male German Shepherd. He is of east german working lines. High prey drive, high energy, dominant aggressive. He is very dog aggressive and people aggressive, no one wants to come into our home as they are all afraid of him. He is gentle and great with anyone he has known from a puppy and also with dogs he has known from a puppy, its just new dogs or cats that come into our home. We are foster parents for the German Shepherd rescue of Central Florida and have had to stop fostering as it is too stressful to have to keep the foster dogs separated from him. We also have 2 foster kittens that he constantly chases and acts aggressively toward. We have 2 cats of our own that he is fine with and we also have a 2nd dog that we rescued at age 7 months that he is fine with. The issues are with anyone or anything that is new to our home. He submits to our little female retriever/border collie mix. He shows me in his body language dominance but also lack of confidence. When there is a dog running loose in our neighborhood, he will bark and shake his head low and left to right. The loose dogs seem to automatically come to him and try to sniff him, they have no fear which leads me to believe he is not threatening to them. he becomes more "agitated" and barks louder, growling with hackles up and lunging at the other dog. the other dogs usually just stand there and look at him and try to sniff him as if they are curious to know whats wrong with him, they dont normally attack him back. I usually would yell at the other dogs to go away while trying to control him physically. He shows me complete submission when scolded for chasing one of our cats or kittens but when it comes to other dogs he does not listen. I am not sure why he is fine with all of his puppy hood friends and not all dogs and really dont know what to do. he is a big boy, weighing over 100 lbs and very physically fit, he is a handful for me to control, I'm so drained at trying to fix him and regain peace in our home. any advise you can offer is so appreciated. thank you.
How can I get my Irish Setter to play with other dogs. She is very fearful when approached and just runs to hide and/or urinates on herself? HELP
Hello Mr.Milan :
A show like the "Dog Whisperer" was truly needed for people living with dogs.
My question is how has your family accepted your fame ?
Do they have a passion for dogs as you do ?
We love your show and the great things you do for the undesireable animals that no one wants.
Here's to another 100 !!!
Regards:
Sandy
Is there any dogs that cant be trained and has to be put down? I have an aggressive dog that has attacked my other dog.We have to keep them separated at all times cause he has hurt him a few times. However, the aggressive dog is a loving dog with us. I have tried to use some of Cesars advise from the show but it just dont work. My aggressive dog has seizures and i was told from a veterian that is the problem. Your advise would help. Thank-you.
I have a 3 yr old rottweiler who is very needy. The more attention you give him the more he wants. He will try to sit on you so you can pet him more. Also when someone comes into the house he is all over them wanting attention. How do I stop this? He's very sweet but enough is enough.
Do you correct your dog if they go marking their territory because of a new dog? UNneutered.
Also when would you have a LIVE Seminar in SEATTLE, WASHINGTON? or take Submissions from here?
Cesar,
Congratulations on your 100th episode! You are an exceptional person and I am sure that you have helped thousands of people and dogs with your intelligent and intuitive gift of caring for dogs and their families. So many people adopt dogs without a clue as to what they are all about. Their owners know nothing of their needs anad what is normal dog behavior. I hate to see dogs disiplined and suffer terribly because of their owner's ignorance. You have helped so many people understand their dogs and their needs. Happier dogs, happier owners, mentally healthier pack! I can't thank you enough for making life so much better for the many wonderful dogs out there that only need to be loved and understood.
My son has a dog that has a problem that we are totally unable to understand. Luckily, we love her and keep trying to make her better. She is a part of our family (pack) and she is a sweet, loving dog, who just can't control herself. Someone else might resort to hitting or abusing her but we just keep watching your show and hoping we will get it right eventually. Of course, we would love for you to come to Connecticut and show us in person how to deal with her. If you do ever make it out this way, please keep us in mind. We would be forever grateful.
Keep up the wonderful work that you do! Many, many, many thanks.
Sincerely, Joan
I am amazed at how deeply your dog whispering goes into the human psyche and literally can heal a persons emotions. I love it!
When are you coming to Baltimore?
Also I have been trying to contact Cesar Millan through his website for 2 years now, regarding giving him a loving dog that truly deserves to live with Cesar or at the Dog Psychology Center. I still have not got one single response, other than an auto-reply of that he is too busy.
But if somehow you could get Cesar attention and help me, I would truly appreciate it. And I could give you more ways to get ahold of me and more information. Thank you for your time.
congratulations on your 100th episode!!
I just love your show, it will take some time before i'll get to see your 100th episode because i live in Norway..
I've got a long coated GSD, we're going to obedience classes every wednesday and search and rescue training monday and thursday, he really loves it.. He's usually a very good dog, loves other dogs and people.
Our only problem is he hates cats and rotties.
This summer he got attacked by a rottweiler on our vacation, the rottie attacked him from behind, after the attack we found a dog trainer and got in to a obedience class, where there was another rottie, my dog was fine and didn't mind the rottie at all. But a week ago on one of our walks we met a man with a rottweiler, my dog got very agressive and tried to get out of his leach to get him, i've never seen him act like that. I've tried to find a well behaveded rottweiler to train with, but we only got one here and he's agressive towards other dogs.
Do i need a rottweiler to train with to get rid of this problem or is there a way to do it without a rottie?
we have been working on his problem with cats, he's fine now on leach. but the neigbours cats seems to like my dogs back yard, sometimes i think they got a death wish, luckily he have not managed to get one of them yet.
I wish there was a dog whisperer in norway, we really could need one..
Looking forward to the next 100 episodes
i love cesar, u are awesome and my family and i and of coarse my two german shepherds need u to come to bennington, vt, so bad, i have read two of your books and i am still reading
How can we get our Yorkie named Munchie to stop getting so excited when we or anyone else comes into the house? He jumps all over people. I can make him stop but as soon as I release him he starts again. He also is afraid of other dogs even tiny ones. I have tried Cesar's techniques but still can't get him over this.
Please help.
He is 5 years old.
I think that you are great, and the way you help these animals is amazing...You truely have a gift from God and I am so glad that you are using this gift..
I have a year old chocolate lab and I can not stop her from jumping on me or anyone..I have used the choke collar and nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions?
Cesar -- I love your show and watch it faithfully. I keep looking for ways to become the leader in my pack - which consists of me and a very feisty 17-lb yorkie. Abby has had a lot of health issues since she was born - the biggest being very, very bad allergies. We now have that under control but I am afraid her personality suffered from all the poking and proding. She is really sweet 95% of the time but, I find she uses progressive discipline on me. She has bitten me several times, although not lately. Mainly because I back off when she growls. I love Abby but I have to say I really wish I was the boss instead of her. I tell friends how she is and they get the biggest kick out of my stories. I know she loves me but why does she feel she can bite me? Any advice you can send my way will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much and here's to another 100 episodes :-) Candy
I love your show, watch it, practice the things I see and have learned so much. Please help me understand my dog's behavior.
He is watching out the window, a cat runs by. He jumps away from the window and runs to our other dog and attacks her, jumping and snarling. Then he returns to the window and watches for the cat to return. This may happen two or three times for the same cat situation. It seems as if he is
1.either releasing his frustration or
2. asking her to join him at the window.
How do I handle this?
Respectfully, Cynthia
I have a two year old Springer Spaniel that was frightened at 9 months of age by some contractors that were in our home. Since this time we have a huge problem with her being afraid of everything. She will run and hide in the bathtub. Her 10 year old Therapy Dog Sister (Springer Spaniel also) would like for her to join us at the Veterans Hospital, but she is way to afraid. Please help!! We want to make her a Therapy Dog, and right now she just needs therapy...

Cesar,
We have 3 dogs. An 11 yr old Rottie (Ambrose), a 7 yr old Lab/Pit mix (Charlie), and a 3 yr old Rottie (Dakota). We walk everyday but have noticed Ambrose is getting slower & the other 2 not enough exerise. Can we maintain the pack with seperate walks? Also, how do dogs deal with the death of one of the pack? How can we help?
Cesar, I am a big fan of your show & have attempted to adopt your philosophy & methods to my own pack. My question, My wife & I have 2 dogs, a 2 yr. old female Goldendoodle & a 2 yr. old male Golden Retriever. The female is dominant over the male. Although I believe I have pack leader status the female in some instances will control the behavior of the male. For example if the male is sitting on the couch with me & the female approaches the male will vocalize & then leave the couch. The female will then sit next to me. In addition I have seen the female stop the male from eating, simply by looking at him. Does this mean that the male (& or female)do not consider me the pack leader or is the presence of a sub-pack within the family pack natural? Thanks For All You Do.
Congradulations!!!!! I Love your show and site.
I really need help!!!
I am disabled and always in chronic pain. We have adopted a rescued lab/shepard, 6 mos. old. He is so smart. I am having trouble with barking and leash training. Lazarus pulls on his leash and I hurt all the time. How can I get this under control? Please help.
Keep doing what you are doing......
Thanks so much.
Brenda H.
I have two rescue Bichons (or one is a mix of Bichon and something else...still white) I have a fenced back yard they are let out into to run. how can I get them to come to me when I call them. they will come to the door and when I open the door run away. It gets very frustrating if I can't get them to come in and I want to go to bed myself. Also how do I get them to not poop and pee in the house when we are not looking. I have to have them gated off from the rest of the house or they will mess on the carpet when we are not looking. they are let out frequently and do their jobs outside too. both are spayed females.
I have a question for Cesar. When can I start giving affection to my dog again? he is getting so much more confident now that we set boundries and expectations of him. He is happy to be with his pack of horses, cats and yard birds. But if I give him the littlest bit of praise he flops on his back reverts back to the passive dog he was. "Blue" was adopted by us a few months ago and he is a two year old intact male Catahula Cattle Dog/Heeler mix.

Cesar and the Dog Whisperer crew, congratulations on your 100th episode! I can't even begin to explain how touching every episode is to me. I have an Australian Shepard Mix who is a very large dog but very sweet. About 1 year ago, he had a negative experience at the vet during treatment & when they tried to force him into a kennel, he bit them & then defecated on himself. Since then he has a similiar reaction when someone tries to grab his collar (not me!!) or approaches him in a manner that he perceives as threatening (even though it's not). Even bath time scares him now unless it's outside with a water hose. He is now terrified of the vet & bucks like a horse & goes to the bathroom on himself in fear. He is also terribly afraid of thunderstorms. He seems to only display the fear aggression and will bite if he perceives that you are forcing him to do something. Otherwise, he is a wonderful dog, listens well, walks beside or behind me and is a great companion. I've tried thunderstorm cds and positive reinforcement but he knows the difference -- he can tell the storm is not real. What else can I do to assist him in feeling like a proud, secure dog during these events?
Thanks,
Carol & Daxx (the Aussie)
Dear Cesar,
First of all, I would like to congratulate you on 100 episodes and look forward to 100 more. Thank you so much for helping dog owners all over the world become calm assertive pack leaders.
I need to learn that lesson! I have one very hyper Blue Heeler. I have tried using your techniques but somewhere along the line I must have missed something with this one. Partly because of exercise. She has an ACL injury. It was treated but she reinjured it by jumping and running. My question is this..How do I give her enough exercise without aggravating the acl condition? I walk her 3 miles but after 2 she begins to lag and limp. However, if I take the lead off and throw a ball..even after the walk, she will run like mad to get it. Of course then she spends the rest of the day holding up her leg.
She is very destructive with toys. There is nothing she can't destroy. I was never able to house break her. She gives no notice. She will catch a frisbee in the air and come down in position and poop..just like that. No sniffing, pawing, turning..nothing! It is hard to pet her because she flip flops all over you. She is friendly, just too hyper and I am unsure how to help her expel this excess injury without aggravating her leg again.
I have two male dogs, one is 7 and one is turning 2. We've had them both since they were puppies and they've always gotten along. The 7 year old is definitely the boss. They are beginning to have serious tiffs over their bones now and I don't want to stop giving them bones, but I don't want them fighting either. How do I handle this situation? Thanks for your help - and the Illusion collars do work!

Congrats on your 100th show! Love watching the program and have your dvds - it has helped us long time dog owners A LOT! Except for one thing...
We have a 2 year old male beagle/walker/french basset hound mix who we have tried to house train with our other 2 dogs - he will go outside with them but as soon as he gets back inside will sneak upstairs to do his business - usually in the same spot - we have tried many things to get him to stop this to no avail. How can we get him to stop going inside the house and do his business when he is outside? He has no problem doing his business when he is at the dog park he just won't do the same in our yard! Help?!!
Congratulations on 100 episodes and here's to 100 more!!
My question to you is,
"Have you ever had a dog that is too far 'gone' and could not be rehabilitated?"
Keep up the good work, your advice to others has also helped us.
kind regards
Janina
I rescued an English Springer Spaniel in February. His separation anxiety is so bad, I cannot leave him in the house and walk out the front door - he destroys curtains and blinds while trying to get to the window to see me, crying and barking. I hate to crate him all the time but I have no choice. I have tried going out and coming back in but he just doesn't get that I am coming back. He's a very sweet, loving dog and listens most of the time. We have not mastered the walk yet - he drags me most of the time. I do have a backpack but he hates it and constantly bites and tears at it. I want to trust him in the house by himself but I can't. Do you have any other suggestions? I have rheumatoid arthritis and I do walk him but it's difficult for me to be on a long vigorous walk.
Hey Cesar! Congratulations on the 100th show!
I have a question about my 3.5 year old white boxer, Rocky. I've been trying all of your techniques on becoming Pack Leader. But my main problem is maintaining that calm assertive energy outside of our home. Once Rocky becomes fixated on something, whether it's the dogs next door or just the scent of animals that have been in our yard, I cannot break his attention. What is your advice for keeping my dog under control when we are outside on the leash?
Thanks so much!
My husband and I have a 10 week old Brittany puppy. She was temperament tested as easy going but she is anything but that - very hyperactive. We have had her for 2 weeks. We are structuring her life with training sessions, play sessions, quiet time and crate time. I exercise her in the morning and evening but at 10 weeks old, still not taking to the leash so exercise is incorporated into chasing a kong on a string. But she is constantly confrontational with me, constantly testing me. She continually tries to play bite my hands hard. I have tried holding her still, tapping her nose which works for my husband, doing the Ceasar fingers to the neck, substituting an appropriate chew toy, holding her by scuff of neck, putting bitter apple on my hand and nothing is working. I can't hold her because of this biting. What am I doing wrong? Dana

I have 3 dogs, the frenchie attacks our pug on a daily basis. He seems to respect humans, but we are unable to stop the fights between them. I've been bit trying. The pug is nervous around him and also callenges him at the same time. When they fight, our boston terrier jumps in to and it becomes 2 on 1 (both dogs attacking the Pug). How do we make this a peaceful house? We walk them everyday, he also has tried to attack the pug during our walks too.
I have a roc male who is 6 years, and has a very bad body oder. I am allergic to his BO, what can I use to take care of the oder? When he comes in the house, the whole house smells like dog. He also sheds really bad, what can I do about his hair shedding problem?
I am a 62 year old femal, my yotkir (spike) 6 years old has become very aggressive with me only. I can not give him a bath, or pick him up, just doing little this like making the bed, washing clother or if the door bell ring, he attachs me. whant to bite me. and i have been bitten more then once. Can you help? or is there ant one in my area like you.I watch your shoe every fri.
Your great.
My 3-year-old Shiba Inu is VERY territorial, to the point where she will guard the food and keep our 4-year-old Boxer from eating! She also will nip at him sometimes, and if she ever breaks the fence she runs straight to a neighbor's house and attacks their female Brittany Spaniel. She also growls at anyone who tries to pick her up or scold her, and my neighbors are afraid she will bite them. She has even growled and nipped at me and my husband. We feel like we have tried everything to keep her under control, but is there anything else we can try to keep her from being so aggressive?
I love the show! Cesar and his family are truely amazing for all they do.
I have a 4 year old Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix who will swim in a lake but refuses to get near water from a hose/baby pool, etc., he seems afraid of these things. What do you suggest to help us help him get over this? We just got a Yellow Lab puppy who loves the water anytime and want them to be able to play together in the water. Thank you.

Hi Cesar,
I am a dog trainer in Michigan. I have helped more dogs than I can count with basic obedience, over excitement, aggression, etc. My frustration is with dogs that plain and simple cannot be rehabilitated without a balanced pack. I rescued a dog (age 1ish) that was abused: he was aggressive toward dogs and some people. After four months working with him, he was perfect...until another dog attacked him. It seems now that a switch has been turned back on and nothing short of a pack of balanced dogs will get him out of it. My other dog, whom I rescued at an earlier age (3 months) is absolutely perfect.
I feel as though I'm failing my other dogs psychological well-being by not being able to help him with this.
So, here is my question (finally) :)
Are you planning on opening Dog Psychology Centers across America? I would enroll my boy in a heart beat (I would also help run it for that matter, if you're looking for qualified employees--I adore working with dogs and thier owners).
Thanks for everything you do to help bring awareness to Americans for their furry family members. You are a true inspiration to so many people.
Last summer I was visciously attacked by 3 dogs while out running in my neighborhood. I was hospitalized for days with a near deadly infection from the wounds. The town in upstate New York -did nothing to remove the dogs, so I still have to run by the same property to go running or walking outside anywhere. (There is only one way off my road/hill that I live on). How do I overcome my fear of dogs, and the real possibility of being attacked again by these very same dogs?
What personal and character traits have attributed to Mr. Millan’s professional and personal success? To name just a few, Integrity, intention, perseverance, discipline, humility, compassion and, of course, calm assertiveness. Mr. Millan is a man, a human, to be aspired to; not because of what he does with dogs but for what he contributes to our human race. More than hope for our dogs’ but hope and a testimony to what we all can aspire to become!!!
From Canada...congratulations and thank you you have helped my family more than you will ever know.
I have written before...my son was attacked by a neighbours dobberman named Atlas 2 years ago on Mother's day, had Mark not put his arm up to his face things may have turn out differently as the doctor who stitched him up said. I am very thankful of my son's bravery. To cope the next day I bought your book and got my family to watch your shows. Mark was rehabilitated by a friend's rottweiler and is around other dogs again. He had to as I made sure of it dogs are everywhere and I am not always around. We never requested Atlas be put down...only that Atlas never be around Mark again and they moved in the country. Now since our little dog Maggie does not like other dogs and this makes Mark and my family nervous she will get hurt. My question...I have talked to my neighour (the mother) who says she is nervous being Atlas's owner as her husband still introcuces him to kids. Our kids have remained friends, I realy do understand her fear. Could you grant me the wish to have us (both mothers) come to your facility with both our dogs (all the way from Canada)and help us with our fears? Mark worries Atlas will do this again...as Mark's mother I want him to feel the family has tried rehabilitating Atlas and that our dog is well behaved around other dogs. No blame, just working towards being responsible owners. I know the owner would be up for it. Thank you for your time.
Congrats on your 100th show. Job well done. Now if I can only get my Boxer/Pil Bull mix to listen and to learn to like other animals, I would have it made. She always wants to eat other animals and I can not get her to stop no matter how hard I try. I also have major back problems and when she pulls and lunges, it doesn't help me. Can you give me some advice or help, please. Thank you...
Hi, Cesar! We love you and watch you all the time! Even my dogs watch the t.v. and I always ask them if they have learned anything.
I have 4 Siberian huskies, but our younger female has seperation anxiety. She has been diagnosed by the vet and my friend that does husky rescue. I have been told she has above normal intellengce for a dog. How can my husband and I learn to deal with her better? Also, if I take my 2 females to the pet stores together, the younger one almost seems to want to go after another dog. How can I stopped her from being this way? I don't believe she would hurt another dog, I have never seen that from her before. She is not like my dominant male, who is dominant over the submissive male we have. We had issues with those two over toys or food, but I have learned with them to seperate them apart while eating etc. I always tell myself before going into a store to be calm or she will sense it. I would love to take her more places, but I am afraid she is always in attack mode. Any suggestions? (they are all fixed)
thank you from Holly, Mike, Nala, Boo, Oreo & Timber
hey ceaser congrats on your 100 episode. my question to you is do you have the same passion for dogs now as u did when you first began working with them ? is it the same or more. we adopted a dog last year. He was under a year and is very playful. Three years prior we adopted our first dog, a terrier x he was and in some ways still nervous. he is afraid of bubbles ,balls, and gets very nervous around strange adults. He acts as though he will bite their legs off. With the immediate family and all kids he is great. He will just hide in his house if we or the other dog takes out toys (mostly the balls, bubbles frisbees anything he feels that will potientialy injur him ). Any advice? (oh the newer dog does not seem to bother him much and allows him to be the boss. We want to play with him, whch he'll do sometimes, but mostly he sits and pouts. What do we do?
I am a dog groomer & I'd like to know why a dog will stick his head out the window to feel the wind but when I put a blowdryer on them to dry there hair they instantly become a dryer dodger. If you have an answer for this condition you truely are miraculous! Thank you Jeanine Anderson
Hi Cesar. I am a 61 year old professional pet sitter and want to know what someone would need to do to be able to spend a day with you at the Psychology Center? I know I could learn so much from you in person. I already use many of your techniques with my clients. Meeting you in person with your pack would be a dream come true for me.
Sincerely,

Congrats on reaching 100! I'm addicted to your show and never miss an episode.
My question is regarding how to do things right from the start. We have a 4 month old male collie ( not neutered yet, but will be soon) that we got when he was 8 weeks old from a breeder.
We have tried to apply your principles to handling him since day one. I'm still unsure if we are doing things right. Although I'm not afraid to correct him sometimes I fear I may be over correcting or just nit-picking behaviors that are just a puppy being a puppy.
Can you give some insight into how we should be handling a puppy so to best avoid the behaviors that we often see arise in the cases you have on your regular program?
What is the best way to instill confidence in my 1 year old Great Pyrenese(f) and make her less submissive?
Congraqts on your 100th show! Keep up the great advice. I have a dog and he constantly chases my cat. We have tried everything we can think of to stop this behaviour but to no avail. He has gotten her a few times where the cat was in his mouth and she let out some criees. We are very afraid that he will bite her or worse, kill her. Please help us as we love both animals and this is a major problem. We need HELP Ceasar!!!

I work four days a week from 10a to 7p. Have longed to get a dog, but held off because I know in my heart they are social animals and it doesn't seem right to leave a dog alone that much. But then I think it's got to be better than being in a shelter or being put down. What are your thoughts about this? Would getting a second dog (after teaching a first rules, boundaries and limitations!) be win win for dogs and me?
You,your family, and your staff ROCK!
Esteemed Cesar:
Congratulations on your enormous success. You are an incredibly hard working human being, and always make your family top priority. The world needed to hear your message of becoming a balanced human being and always placing your family first. Thank you.
My question is:
I have 2 labrador retrievers, one is very high energy who I have been working out with and using your method since he was 9 weeks old. The other younger one is low energy. It seems a lot harder to drain her of her stored energy since she is not willing to exert herself as hard as the male.
Any suggestions?
WEll done on 100 episodes, your programme is loved in Europe too.
My question is..
How do you stop dogs barking at a fence?
I have a Newfoundland mix and a german shepherd and they wont stop barking at traffic through the fence.
I love the show.Do you have any plans to come and rehabilitate some British dogs.We have Dog Borstal, but as you could guess from the title, it's not very nice, and definitely not calm-assertive!
Would Cesar ever consider developing a center on the East Coast? If so, I would work for him in a heartbeat!
We are faithful practitioners of "Cesarology" and swear by it to our friends who have issues with their canine cohorts. Not only has our Australian Shepherd, Molly, benefited from your practices, but it has taught us so much about how we live our lives.
Keep up the wonderful work that you do, Cesar!
Greetings from Canada Cesar. I first want to thank you for your excellent books and TV show, if not for you I don't think we would of rescued Jazzie. I do have a question, Jazzie is a sheltie who for the first three years of her life had two litters and lived her life in a cage and was debarked. I have been working with her following the Cesar way. Everything was progressing well, then all of a sudden she regressed (runs scared in the backyard, hides behind trees, . So we are back to square one which is okay. Is this a common occurence that dogs do fall back to there old insecure ways?
Dear Cesar!
Sorry I cannot be there to celebrate with you, its a little hard for me because I live in ICELAND!:)
You have influenced a lot of people and its spreading all over the world. Thank you for the inspitarion and also for not only making my dogs more balanced but also myself
Best wishes from the land of ice

Hi Cesar Congrats on your 100 episode. My Maggie is a great dog. At the cottage she sits stays comes. I love it but when we go back to town and if she gets loose she won't do anything for us. We have to chase her to catch her and I am afraid she is going to get hit by a car cus she runs anywhere. She ran after a truck the other day and got hit. Not hurt but scared the begeebers out of us. Any advise. Help and thanks I will keep watching you everyday. Twyla
We have a 2 1/2 year old Golden Doodle, who is a great dog. Our problem is that he loves taking our pillows from the bed and from the couch and ripping them apart. He takes them and alot of the times he will bring them to us and I have to pry it from his mouth. But those other times he will just steal them and gut them. What do we do about this?
Hello I'm a Dog Whisperer FAN!!!! I'm from Spain and I try not to miss any episode. I've got 2 lovely dobermanns than my husband trains in RCI, they are really good, but as Cesar always say "you have to be cosistant in your work with the dogs everyday" I just want to congratulate Cesar and hope to see 100 more. Sorry if my english is not good.
Cesar you are a breath of fresh air!!!! I have a Boxer, unlike any Boxer I have ever had. He was afraid of everything when I got him from a pet store. He has come a long way getting over alot of fears, but the only one I don't know what to do is THUNDER!!! He SHAKES, PANTS, & DROOLS. I don't touch him or talk to him when he gets like that. I don't know what I can do to help him get over that fear. Please help.
Thank you
Vicky

Ceser,
Congratulatins. I need your help with my 239 pound English Mastiff. He is a stud dog ( 3 yrs old)and has since I went back to work full time started marking his territory in my house daily. Usually on the same objects each day..Without being here to catch him what can I do? I have gated himm off nd he just finds another "new" item to urinate on. PLEASE advise.
Hi Cesar, greetings from New Jersey and congratulations on your 100 episode. We watch you all the time and when my poodle Makya misbehaves, I always say I am going to call Cesar on you...Makya is agressive and dominant with other dogs to the degree, when I see another dog coming we cross the street. Can you give any advice on how to control her?
Caesar, I am a huge fan and a believer! Congrats on the 100th episode and many more to come.
I have 3 dogs (a bourvier and 2 rescued mixed breeds). Two of them occassionally get in to a huge fight (probably 2-3 times a year) with usually some puncture wounds and bleeding. At all other times they live peaceably together. The fights seem to be over some kind of alpha position but I cannot tell which of them is the alpha dog or who starts the fight. I know this is not much information, but any insights as to why this happens or what to do to prevent it?
Ceser,
Congrats!I desperately need your help with my 239 pound English Mastiff. He is a stud dog 3 yrs old and has since I went back to work full time started marking his territory in my house daily. Usually on the same objects each day..Without being here to catch him what can I do? I have gated himm off and he just finds another "new" item to urinate on. PLEASE advise.

Hi Cesar,
Congrats on 100 episodes. I am writing because of a proposed ban on pit-bulls in Ohio. I am not opposed to regulation but this ban REQUIRES OWNERS TO EUTHANIZE their dogs, dogs that already have a home and are loved. So i am reaching out to the greater community to begin a conversation as to cruelty and extreme nature of these laws.
Would like to hear Cesar's thoughts on this type of regulations.
Y&J in Brooklyn
ps>there is a similar law proposed here in NYC. I just found out today. Thank You.
Congratulations Cesar and crew! I have seen all 100 episodes...some over and over and over again and pick-up helpful tips each time I watch and try to utilize what I learn at the shelter I volunteer at.
My question is a common one, how do I get my yorkie to continue to focus on the walk not look for a fight?
I have a 8 pound 6 year old absolute red zone yorkshire terrier. She can not be walked enough or run on the treadmill enough to rid her of the tension and frustration she has in her. Exiting the house, we go through the "calm before exiting" routine but she knows that if she does that she can get out and as soon as she is out, all heck breaks loss even if I take her back in over and over again. She's looking for anything on four legs and if she smells a dog or sees a dog, she is off the hook crazy trying to go after them, starts a fight with my 12 year old yorkie who can go nowhere due to the leash and the quick action when it goes down. She foams at the mouth and just has a crazed look in her eyes. No matter what I do, I can not get her to refocus...I make her sit and look at me, lay her down, pick her up, etc. Nothing works! Luckily, on the rare occasions she has broken away and will run up to any sized dog and go in for the over and over bite...no sniffing or hesitation, the other dogs have been taken by surprise and have not retaliated.
Please help. I've been told since her mother and sisters...only the girls in her family, have always been fighters that it may just be genetics. Could this be true?
Mr. Cesar Milan,
Congrats on 100! May there be 1,000,000 more!! You're the most sensible voice I've ever heard in relation to dog (and people) behavior. I read your books, watch your show and DVD's; my bullmastiff's and Dogue de Bordeaux's lives are better for it. Thanks for this life long commitment you've made, I only hope that I can do your philosophy proud!
Dear Cesar,
Thank you so, so much for all the help you have given me over the past few years. I love your show, books and tapes, and have definately become the Pack Leader (most of the time) of my 3 Jack Russells and 1 corgi. They can be very trying at times, to say the least, but they have also come a long way in their behavior. My biggest problem is that I actually do not own the Jack Russells. I care for them, and love them as my own, when their owner is away, which is most of the time. I work and live on a 3000 acre Thoroughbred horse farm in VA. The owner of the farm comes for weekends maybe 1/2 of the year. Sometimes there can be stretches of 3 months when he does not come at all. One of the problems I have is that he really does not know how to make the dogs listen to him and he expects them to. Try as I might, I cannot teach him to take control of the dogs and be the Pack Leader! He likes to drive around the farm in his golf cart like vehicle with the dogs in the back. When they see something running, anything from a squirrel, to deer, or to horses, they will leap out the cart for the exciting sport of chasing, barking, and nipping at the heels of the horses. This becomes trouble! This is race horse farm and we have over 200 of the country's best, (Very Expensive) mares, foals and yearlings that cannot be put at risk for injury. The owner gets very angry at me when they chase the horses. He thinks that I have not trained them enough. They do not behave like this when I have them! I take them on long daily walks, unleashed, all over this farm and have very few problems. What can I do to help the dogs obey the owner when I am not around? Duel ownership is very difficult and I would truly appreciate any advice you may have for me. Thank you.
I have two dogs but the one that I have the problem with is a 2 year old minature long haired daschund. She just does not seem to understand that she is not to go potty in the house. The other dog pees outside and I take them outside about 6 times a day plus 2 walks a day. She will pee outside sometimes but not always. It is like she thinks she should pee inside and he pees outside. What can I do?
Congratulations Cesar!
I am a dog owner and I also a dog fosterer. You are my inspiration and an inspiration to all. Thank you for doing so much to help train/rehabilitate so many dogs --- and so many humans. :-)
Any chance you'll be coming to New Jersey any time soon? ;-)
My question is,
Can anyone be a dog whisperer or is it something that only a few can do?
Hey Cesar,
Congrats on the 100th episode!!!! I just recently started watching your show and am amazed at the things I have learned that I have been doing all wrong. I have two Boston Terriers and a new English Bulldog puppy, and until watching your show I was not at all what you call a Pack Leader, I was the one that gave all of the love and no discipline. Since asserting myself, I have noticed that my dogs now listen to me and respect me, its been a total change. The only thing I have been having an issue with and was hoping to get your advice on is my new English bulldog puppy is very vocal, he barks at everything! Its almost like he feels like if he barks, we will do whatever it is he wants. I have tried to "tssst" him, and tell him no, but it seems to get worse. I do not want a grown bulldog that barks all of the time, and I dont know how to stop this now?? Any advice??
And thank you again for all that you have taught me, best wishes on 100 more!!!!
Christy in Florida
Thank you for helping dogs Cesar, I love your show.
I do have a question though, and since you like to work with the "gladiators" I figured you'd be the best one to ask. I have a 3 year old German Shepherd. She's a great dog and very obedient, except when it comes to cats and squirrels. She chases them. No bark, no warning, just goes. We can't let her off the leash at all. How can we stop this? We've taught her ignore, but we don't get a chance to do anything when she spots one. Thank you :)
I love Cesar & the story of Trinity the pit bull made me weep. The ending made my heart sing, but here in Ohio we have been fighting a battle to be able to keep our pit bulls.
I thank you Cesar for all the positive publicity on Pit Bulls & all other dogs labeled as agressive.
Sure would be wonderful to have Cesar send input to the Ohio House of REpresentives that have moved this Bill into committee.
Thank you

Hi Cesar!
Congrats! I absolutely love the show! I have a little Terrier, and I have been using many of the practices you have on your show and they have helped a great deal. One problem I still have is her aggression toward food when she's around other dogs. She's fine when she's alone at home, but when she's around other dogs, she gobbles her food down so fast that she has almost choked herself a couple times. Now when she's around other dogs (when we're visiting friends and family with their dogs) and I need to feed her, I have to feed her a couple pieces at a time and I can see her anxiety. I have put the other dogs outside and also tried to calm her but so far, no luck. I'm afraid she's going to hurt herself - what can I do?
Thank you so much!
I have a Australian Shep./ Choc. Lab cross whose name is Moka. She is a beautiful dog. However when our Yellow Lab Brandi passed away 2 years ago her personality changed. She became fearful and did not like when other dogs approached me. We used to be able to take her soccer games etc. but on the leash she lunges and barks. 1.5 years ago we adopted a Rhodesian Ridge back/Shep. cross who we call Jake. We thought a friend would help her. She loves to play with him but no one else. We take Jake to the dog park and he loves it. We tried to take Moka on leash and she was attacked by a Bull Terrier. She is now extremely fearful/ aggressive to other dogs. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.
I just wanted to know how Gavin is doing. I fell in love with that dog so much.
I forget her name but I just saw her last weekend. She had the awesome service dog and she went to the school and displayed the services her dog did for her. She really touched my heart. I was wondering how her and her dog were doing.
Congratulations Cesar you are awesome!!!!!
I had one more question.
My dog finds just the right spot and then he turns a few times before he goes. He did this more when he was younger. He is 10 now and then he just finds the right spot and goes. I had heard to make sure there are no snakes. Somehow I don't think that's true.
This has puzzled me for so long. Just very curious.
I do have a funny story for you.
I never knew dogs laughed. They do. One time my dog was in his kennel. Puppy. Anyway alarm went off I shut it off but fell out of bed. Must have been hilarious. He was panting with his tongue out and a big smile on his face. Well years later I read that's a laugh. That's a laugh right? Had to be funny looking for someone to fall out of bed.
Cesar,
Congratulations on your 100th episode and may you have many, many more!
How do I get my dogs a german shepard and pitbull mix to stop jumping on myself and other people that come in the yard? They are very friendly but just love to jump on you for attention.
Thanks.
I think your awesome Cesar. I walk 4 dogs, for exercise for local people. After a two mile quick paced walk I allow them off the lead in a field or on the beach, my own dog starts to play and one of the dogs chases her and then the kinda "wrestle" and it leads to a more intense chase. Even if I throw a ball it becomes more intense. My question is should I allow the "alpha" dog to growl and "put" the other dog down to show that they are the "boss", it seems like they are putting the other dog in its place, do I allow this?
Cesar-
Congrats on your 100th episode. You are the best. I go to our local dog park and the talk is always about your shows.
My question to you is i have 2 pit bull puppyies. I have had them since they were 5 weeks old. One is male and the other is female and they are brother and sister. I have caught my female eating her poop. Why is she doing this. It is very disturbing to me. She has food and water. I have also noticed that after I get back from the dog park she becomes very aggressive with her brother to the point that she barks at him and shows teeth. I've tried your method of putting her in front of her brother and laying her on the ground until she becomes calm submissive but this just angers her more to where she fight me off and even snaps at me and bites me. Please advise
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Hi Cesar:
I have a Shiba Inu named "Takito", his personality is sometimes very aggresive. I have try everything to dominate him and sometimes he is really nice but sometimes he just becomes crazy and bites.
I from Monterrey, Mexico and I really need your help!
Thank you!
Rosa!
Hi Cesar & Daddy & Jr. and the rest of your pack.. Beautie and I want to wish you a huge CONGRATULATIONS on the 100th show!!! We have seen them all and yes Beautie does watch with me.I now have many friends with or with out dogs enjoying your program too!!! Beautie is a insecure/submissive dog, who is still a bit people shy, she was born in a Hurricane Katrina shelter and lived there for her 1st 5 1/2 months and I adopted her at 6 months. She has been with me for over 2 years and thanks to your teachings she is unbelievabley better!!! But I just recently noticed that when we eat at out door restaurants and another dog walks by she goes crazy pulling barking the works (she did not do this prior). I take her with me whenever possible so she is exposed to many people, places and situations. She is and advid dog park attendee and has many dog friends, so its not that she doesnt get along with other animals. I'm almost sure this is due to her insecurities, but would'nt she have always done it then? Why now? Im sure there is a very simple explanation and correction.....But I cant seem figure it out....please help!!!!
Again Congratulations and we look forward to 100 more!!! Thank You!!
Cesar, what do you think of microchips in dogs? I know of a case where the dog got very sick from an allergic or rejection reaction and the chip had to be surgically removed.
Every chance possible I watch Cesar perform his 'magic' with dogs. Each and every time I am blown away by his talents. God gives each of us our special "gift" and Cesar certainly has been given a Gift. I have learned so much from him, and my hope would be to some day be able to shake his hand and thank him for sharing his wisdom. God has blessed you Cesar, and you bless us in return. Congrats !!!!
Cesar, I have read both your books, bought the first 2 seasons on DVD and am trying my very best to follow your recommendations when dealing with a VERY alpha dog. I get a lot of coaching from my boyfriend but it's not working for me. My golden retriever dominates me more than I dominate him.
My question is: when are you coming to Puerto Rico??? I think you'll find a lot of interesting cases here plus our beaches are beautiful...
Much continued success with your show and the work you do. We really need you.
Cesar,
We have 7 border collies. 6 of which are thuder-phobic. Do you have any suggestions to relieve their anxiety.
Peggy
Cesar,
Congratulations on your 100th show! I have 3 Jack Russell Terriers, One (Mya) who I think is 100% submissive. Two (Scrappy) who listens except when it comes to being off lead, he like us to chase him for hours on end-which now we refuse to do after seeing your show, we have tried the I'll leave you here tactic and the running away so he can chase us tactic-neither work. Three (Star) who really wants to be a good girl but is just so curious about everything that she has a hard time focusing on us.
*Again Congratulations and looking forward to 100 more shows!
Thanks so much!

Is there an index by behavior problem available to the public, either in print form or on the internet?
Hi Ceasar,
Congrats!
I have a 2 yr old Puggle, whom we adopted at the age of 6 months. He still poos and pees in house. He does not go all night in daughters bed nor does he go during day when he is in his gated space. He never gives us the clue he needs to go. We try to be pro-active but rarely a day goes by that he doesn't go in the house.
HELP!

Question1: We currently have a 8 month doberman and a 4 yr old declawed Cat. Doberman loves to play with the cat but doesn't know his own strength any ideas on how to get them to play together without the cat getting hurt. The cat doesn't mind the dog but would love for him not to get hurt.
Question2: Do dogs have alarm clocks in the brain? How do you get a dog to allow you to sleep in on the weekends? He wakes me up every morning, 6:50 like clock work and won't stop botheri
