Live from the Hollywood Hills, this is the Dog Whisperer 100th Episode Celebration

Dog Whisperer's100th Episode this Friday at 9p

TELEVISION HISTORY - DOG WHISPERER HITS THE 100 EPISODE MILESTONE

[10:20 pm pt] Well everyone thats all I have for you tonight. I want to thank you all for coming and going to this celebration tonight. And I would like to personally thank all of the Dog Whisperer Fans out there for watching and riding along with Cesar on this journey.

He appreciates you, I appreciate you and most of all the National Geographic Channel appreciates you. You have made it possible for this show to happen.

Over 650 of you have commented over the past couple of days congratulating Cesar on 100 episodes. Hopefully this video will encompass most of the love that you wanted to express to Cesar Milan. Don't forget to tune in this Friday at 9p et/pt for the 100th epsiode.

Have a great night. Keep watching.

- Greg Chapman

Fans say congrats

[10:14 pm pt] I mentioned earlier about the message that this celebration was sending out about animal adoption. Well, people here got it. A familiar face to Cesar, Abel from season 2 was here tonight and adopted a dog that was brought here by one of the local animal shelters (and also shown in the adoption video earlier tonight here on the blog). What a great ending to a great night for everyone in attendance, especially a very lucky dog to have found a home. Happy Ending Adoption
[9:50 pm pt] A video from son to father congratulating him on his big accomplishment... Can we say that we are seeing the future here tonight? Andre Milan Says Congrats to his Dad
Cesar%20and%20wife.jpg[9:43 pm pt] I asked him earlier"What was the hardest part of these 100 episodes?", His answer reinforced my point earlier about his family "Leaving my family, the sacrifice that I have made to make the world a bit better. I have tried to create better balance in the world between people and hopefully it has helped with the bigger picture." He continued "Being a partner to my wife has made me a better leader. To be a good leader you have to be able to follow sometimes". She seems like an amazing woman. [8:55 pm pt] After a roaring introduction, Cesar is welcomed in to the venue and is cheered by everyone. Nothing but good things can be said about this night and the way that everyone came here to celebrate the Dog Whisperer. Its really something to see thats for sure. Not a single person that I have come across has had a bad thing to say. From producers of the show to families that have been invited here, no one has anything but gratitude for Cesar. The little time that I spent with Cesar I can understand why he has gained the trust of so many. He is human and with all of his success, he has remained grounded. He is someone that cares for his family and has done everything to make a better life for people around him. Enough of what I have to say, hear it from the man himself. Click below. Time to Celebrate Cesar
[8:42 pm pt] I sat down with Cesar a bit earlier in the night and did a little bit of word association with him here is what he had to say to my little game (which both of his boys enjoyed seeing their pop do):
Greg: Pack Leader Cesar: Balance Greg:Leash Cesar: Tool Greg: Bark Cesar: Communication Greg: Emmy Award Cesar: Accomplishment Greg: 100 Episodes Cesar: Huge accomplishment Greg: South Park Cesar: Compliment Greg: National Geographic Channel Cesar: Home Greg: Tsst! Cesar: My Mom.
[8:30 pm pt]As I mentioned before, this night is not only celebrating Dog Whisperer's 100th episode, it is also raising money for the Cesar and Illusion Milan Foundation and creating awareness for local animal shelters, If you live on the west coast or are seeking a dog around the country, click on the video below: Adoption
[8:15 pm pt]What would you feel like if your most common saying was created in to a spot lot and shined on to a wall with a cable network logo? A bit overwhelming and mindblowing huh? [7:42 pm pt]Many of you have asked about having young children and how to explain actions of your dog and here is what Cesar has to say "Its important to tell them to observe and to give animals space. Follow the example of farmers observing animals. Observation is so important." Also many of you have puppies and have asked how to better control their excited behavior and, well, it seems that its on you to curb that behavior, not the dogs. Cesar's simple explanation makes sense, " They don't just want to do things, they want to be told what to do." [7:37 pm pt]Cesar is walking down as I type this, along with Jada Pinkett Smith. Cesar is decked out in a pin-strip suit and Jada Pinkett Smith is looking lovely as always. Also not to be out done are the dogs that are accompaning Cesar down the carpet (see right) [7:20 pm pt] The green carpet is buzzing and flashbulbs keep popping. Not to mention bones being chewed on. People are lining up down the block. Looks like the event is underway. I'll be bringing you more pics coming up as we get closer and closer to the official kick off. [7:00 pm pt] I just had the honor of meeting Cesar for the first time this evening. I can understand why he has achieved what he has. He is extremely grounded and what you all see on tv is what you get, I asked him a couple of questions that i'll be sharing throughout the night. But one answer really stood out to me that I wanted to share with you all now. I asked him "100 episodes is no small feat, what does it feel like to get to this point in your career?" here is what he had to say: "Family is really really important to me. Setting goals for my boys is so important. Not just dream, but dream and do it, 100 episodes is not only a big deal for me or in the context of television, but for the 100 dogs I've helped. Thanks to the greatness of people, its had a great ripple effect." [6:10 pm pt]Dogs are going to be everywhere and I couldn't be more excited! They are on the walls, on video screens and of course they will be walking around this place. Additionally this celebration is also going to be profiling local animal organizations in the Los Angeles area that have dogs up for adoption, (more on this to come) Here is one of variation of dog paintings that they have hung on the wall: four pugs. [5:40 pm pt] I'll be bringing you clips from the "green carpet", along with some remarks from Dog Whisperer Producers, National Geographic Channel Staff and of course from Cesar later on. Here is the first clip I want to share. Its from Chris Albert, one of the tireless communications staff members we have here at the channel. Take it away Chris... [5:33 pm pt] Some of you have asked "Do we ask questions now or will you be picking them from the previous post" Well....I'll be doing both. I'll be connecting with Cesar a bit later tonight, so i will try and pick some questions that have been submitted before. But if you have any specific questions for me, then ask away! [5:10 pm] They just delivered Cesar's cake. Now cake may not be a big deal to some, but you have got to admit, this (left) is a pretty sweet looking cake. [4:05 pm pt] In what is a nice surprise during a night that I thought was completely devoted to celebrating the 100th Dog Whisperer episode, there is going to be a Cesar and Illusion Milan Foundation silent auction with all proceeds going to help animals effected by Hurricane Ike. Since you can't all be here for this, check out the Cesar and Illusion Milan Foundation by clicking here. [3:15pm pt] The venue is beautiful. Set up seems to be going smoothly and everyone is talking about Cesar's arrival and what celebs have confirmed to come. Stay tuned... [3:05 pm pt] Well that was a trip. From Avenue of the Stars to all the way down Sunset Boulevard, traffic was packed, wheels were shiny and everyone was on their cell phones. That has been my taste of LA or for that matter Hollywood. It is a beautiful city and I can understand why so many folks are attracted to coming out here. [2:16 pm pt] After lunch with press, I am about to head over to the event for setup at the facility. Also getting a bit anxious about tonight's event. This is my first time coming to LA and I have never spent a lot of time in California, so driving around this city has me a bit on edge. The closest thing I know to the Hollywood hills is what I see on Entourage. I suppose you can take the hometown boy out of the small town but not the small town out of the hometown boy.... [12:37 pm] Back from PETCO with everything that they needed. Aren't they nice tennis balls? [11:45 am pt] Those same press folks have asked me to run an errand for them, and of course I oblige. Off to PETCO for some tennis balls, dog bowls and some well-deserved treats for the dogs that will be in attendance tonight. [10:37 am pt] Cesar's day of celebration has begun. It's a beautiful, 78 degree day here in Los Angeles, California. I'm awake and ready to get this party going. I had dinner with a couple of Nat Geo press people last night and, by the sounds of what their days were like, the 100th episode celebration will not disappoint people in attending. They are exhausted. Greetings everyone, its me Greg Chapman. Today I'll be doing my best to keep you all up to date with the comings and goings of the Dog Whisperer's 100th episode celebration.

Thank you for bringing balance into so many lives. I wish you and Illusion much love and success helping the animals of hurricane Ike. My family lives in Beaumont and were very lucky! Their homes, children and dogs (4) are all fine! My prayer is that you can help bring some peace to pet owners and their pets during this incredible crisis.
Thanks again for all you have done and continue to do for us and our four legged friends.
Sincerely,
Geralyn, Ninja(11), Rudy(6) and Bella(1)

Wonderful! Please keep us posted! And yes, do we post our question again on here or will you randomly pick questions from the other site?

Congrats Cesar! Hello from Maryland - wish I was there. Keep us posted!

Cesar

Thank you so much for helping all of us - through you many of us have learned the real meaning of what our dogs offer us everyday. As a mom to Rottie brother siblings your show has been a wonderful gift and peace to my home.

May your next 100 episodes turn into the next 500 epdisodes. Your talents are certainly a gift and we are so glad you share them with us.

Clarification - did you get the cake at 5pm pacific/8pm eastern or 5pm eastern?

what is that tennis ball floating in?? Sorry...just saying...

Hey Jeff

We're talking Pacific time here on the West Coast. For all you Easterners staying up with us tonight Thanks! For all the Westerners...The night is still early.

Oh, the tennis ball is floating in a gelatin/sugary mix. Looks quite tasty.

Hello,

I have a 120 lb black lab, he's 18mo and is obedient and wants to please. However when it comes time to walk him he becomes so excited that I can barley put his collar on. As soon as he's hears the drawer open where we keep it he begins to pace, jump and bark. I've tried to correct him and wait till he calms down but as soon as I begin to collar him it all starts over. On the walk he continues to pull even with a choke collar which I keep high on his jaw line. Please help, I know he needs the exercise but he's so strong that it's becoming too diffcult.

You know what's weird? Cesar was on the premiere of Bones just now - its cesar all around!!

wow I absolutely love this! Wish I could be there but I'm am on the East coast! How long do you think this is gonna go on for tonight?

I volunteer at a No-Kill Animal Shelter. There are a variety of shapes, sizes and temperments - check out your local No-Kill facility before going to a pet store or back yard breeder. Most No-Kill shelters go to great expense to see that the animals are spayed/neutered, medically assessed and given all their shots before they are ready to become a loving member of your home. Most No-Kill shelters exist solely on donations and volunteer help from their community. Many people say they love animals but will not stick their neck out for any animal other than their own. Be a Cesar - stick your neck out!!

Cesar is one of the best, if not The BEST!!

Having volunteered 5 years at a shelter working with dogs, I ended up taking home one who drew blood on a potential adopter. It turned out he was so frustrated with not getting enough exercise at the shelter, he was pulling on everyone just to get them to chase him.
Once home, he showed that he was basically a fear biter. With Cesar's shows help I have stopped him from attacking the vaccum cleaner and I can get ahead of him to avoid any lunging on the street.
He allows me to touch him anywhere & we have no trouble at the vets or boarding. However, he wants to be in the room with me most of the time and so does my other dog.
If I move to another room he typically follows and lays on the floor where he can see me. I have a feeling that although I can put him in a down-stay
for up to 1.5 hours while leaving the room, I wonder if somehow I am promoting a separation anxiety in someway. What else should I be doing with him to promote his independance?

Are you coming back? Just checked in - but no updates?

When walking my dog, a strange dog, off leash, charged us. I stood in front of my dog, puffed myself up, but the dog attacked my dog before I could do anything about it. When I broke up the fight, the other dog ran off. Then a second dog, off leash, charged us also. This time, I stood in front of my dog, puffed myself up, raised my hand, yelled "hey" and the other dog turned and ran away. Should I stand still or continue walking in an instance like this?

Be The Pack Leader - right???

aww spoke to soon - tsst!!

Greg - quit smoozing and tell us what is happening - wish I was there to see for myself

Seems like I am going to have to go to bed soon. I get up early to walk our dog ;o)
But I would love it if my question posted prior to the celebration will be answered!! Thank you so much!

Anna

Thank you for all your help with gaining more control of my dog. You are truly the very best. I look forward to another 100 episodes.

Congratulations!! I am so happy for you!
How old is Daddy? He's the best dog. I love to see him when he's on the show and love to watch him work.
Can't wait to see the next 100 episodes!
Valerie

My family watched you on the Fox show, BONES. You were great! The scene with the chained up dogs, was that Daddy in the second row?

my dog is frightened by thunder, how can I help her?
thanks so much :)

Ceasar you are truly an amazing man. Your dedication goes above and beyond and I know many dogs are happier because of you. It's very obvious that you have a great support system through your family. Your children are receiving an invaluable education from you and your wife. Your teachings carry over to so many other areas in life.
I would love for you ,in your spare time,to start education centers and spread your teachings to other passionate individuals. I feel that these individuals could make a huge difference in the many unwanted dogs that lose their lives due to a lack of understanding. The label, dog trainer is too easily handed out. Lets move forward to put the right people in position to make these changes to benefit our animal friends.
Many thanks and Congratulations on your 100 episodes and may you have many more episodes to come.

Congratulations Cesar! You deserve it! You have helped me and many others work out issues with our dogs. Saw you on "Bones" the other night. Good job! I told my husband, "Watch, Cesar is going to find a bunch of fighting dogs and go "Tssst!" and they are all going to stop barking!" Way to go! It did hurt my heart when they found the responsible dog and you said "I'm sorry buddy" because we all know what that means and I am a Malinois owner. Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you and hopefully one day you can help me with my wild one I lose an arm!

Congrats and love to the wonderful things you have done for so many. We were so delighted to join your well deserved accolades.

Dear Ceaser, My husband is one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet but dogs have the strange habbit of peeing on him. This has happened three times. another time a very old dog with hardly any good teeth walked around behind him very quietly without any growling or threat of any kind and bit him on the calf. Help!!! What is going on. sincerly, Pam

I took care of a friends dog a little chi. named coco and he didn't know me very well. I didn't know him either. The first time he bit me and the next time he got off his leash and I ran for six hours trying to get him and I wandered how would ceasar catch him. He was in a very populated area and i thought he was gonna get run over. I went in and tried to get to know him prior to letting him out. He got so fearful he poo poo on me so I figured this was way out of my field. what should I have done.?? And you have a great 100th show. How did u get such a pretty wife. haha..Diane in ga.

Congrats!!! I'm such a huge fan. You deserve it Cesar!

I love his "American Dream" story too, lol. Came into this country, with nothing but a dream and LOOK!

You give all of us hope and inspiration!

Big fan of Daddy too, lol

I have a toy poodle. I got her when she was 1yr and 1 month old. I'm her 3rd owner, she was and still is afraid of many things and people. She loves other dogs and is very playful. I can have her outside for quite a long time and the minute she comes upstairs, she runs right to the training pad, sometimes she wets alongside of the pad. Sometimes she poops on my bed......Any suggestions?
