wild attitude lhasa apso

I have a almost 4 yr old male lhasa apso. He seems like he can never sit still. Haven't had the money to get him fixed. My roommate has an older female that is very calm, but my dog won't leave her alone. When i correct him i spank him and he snaps at me. What can i do to calm him down? Oh! by the way my vet says on testicle maybe in his stomach...HELP

He's needs daily INTENSELY HEART POUNDING exercise. That alone will curb allot of this cabin fever behavior.

Find the cash & get him fixed. You're fighting natural urges and hormones more powerful then you. If you own a cell phone, a computer, cable TV and have internet access then you can afford to get the dog fixed or else you got your priorities confused. It’s not THAT expensive.

Teach him the DOWN (lay down) command which is a command of submission. Make him DOWN to the female before he is allowed to be with her. DOWN him to her as his punishment for picking on her.

Do NOT hold him down but make him keeping staying down until he calms down and clearly shows you submission. If you let him up when he squirms and protests before giving you calm submission then he will continue to dominate the household and it will keep getting worse.

If you get bitten when you spank then that clearly is making it worse so DON'T DO THAT! Spanking and smacking create mistrust and destroy a dog's respect for it's owner. It knows you are desperate and frustrated and that's WEAKNESS in the doggie world and doesn't deserve or get any respect. It gets warned, attacked, bitten and dominated!

I know you mean well but you’re only fighting against yourself while the dog wins the battles.

    Be Well and Train Well.
