Dog Killed on Taboo: Food

I randomly put on this channel as this show was airing in the wee hours of the morning, and I see a dog being brutally beating to death. I understand it is a documentary and it's not like anyone can get involved, but why did National Geographic think it was acceptable to SHOW US THE ENTIRE TIME THE DOG BEING BLUDGEONED TO DEATH?! They could have switched to the next scene instead of airing the man beating it, its cries and whimpers and then showing it bleeding to death from the neck on the ground. We could have gotten the gist of it merely cutting away or at least editing some of its cries and blood. And don't go on about that being censorship, since they had just stated they were going to kill the dog, therefore we the viewers knew exactly what was occurring. We didn't need extra visuals or sounds of its horrid death.

I totally agree on this Krys, its really inappropriate to air such horrible things being done to an innocent animal. I know there are lot of retarded people in this world that are nothing but a disgrace for the human race, and unfortunately there's no one to stop them in what are they doing. But why are they being shown on TV ? Especially on National Geographic ?!?
My comment was triggered even more because of a recent episode i saw - some documentary about Africa, and since NG "supports" wild life, environment, blah blah i was wondering WHAT SICK BASTARD could just stand in front of a defenseless baby elephant (with a broken leg) and film it while it gets eaten alive by lioness, and then again without even cutting a scene?? That's really SICK !!! Ok we could assume what was following, but maybe the "crew" could show some sympathy and eventually help the animal. Or it is just a matter of show, and because this "event" was not part of the show where we are nice and we love and help the animals, we'll just leave the poor baby elephant without any mercy?? I don't believe that would be interfering in nature's balance or whatever NG likes to call it, it would be simply HUMANE!
