Famous Fountain Lake Eola Orlando, FL

This 50 year old fountain, a centerpiece of downtown Orlando FL was recently damaged from lightning is now flat-out dead. The fountain was installed in 1912 with a cost of $10,000 dollars. A replacement, originally dubbed the "Millennium Fountain," was installed in 1957 with a cost of $350,000 dollars.The fountain changes colors at night like a light show. The lake, 4,529 feet in circumference and 23 acres The lake is actually a sinkhole and it is famous for its fountain. Major damage was to the motor and the only access is through the top access would only be by helicopter and the City of Orlando doesn't have the $500,000.00 insurance deductable.
